I had the  pleasure of staying At Velassaru.   It has been an amazing experience.   It is a beautiful island with an amazing staff.   I want to thank the entire staff at the Vela restaurant.   I was always greeted with a warm smile from the hosts and hostesses.  They were kind and caring upon each meal.    The servers always had my Coke on ice ready for me and were curious about my day.  I enjoyed all of our conversations.   A special thank you to all the cooks and chef!!!  The food was delicious and I loved the wide variety of choices.  They always greeted me with a smile and would make my dishes extra spicy when asked……….I highly recommend visiting the water sports/dive center.  I had a blast parasailing over the beautiful blue waters, jet skiing, and snorkeling with sharks!!!  Their entire team was full of knowledge, experience and fun!!!   Each week the resort offered a guest cocktail hour with upper management.  The GM, RM, Head of FNB and the other department heads were always there to interact with the guests and made everyone feel warm and welcome.  And what would a vacation be without spending time at the Spa??!!  Amazing views , incredible massages, and many great offerings…..last but not least a special thank you to all the bartenders.   From the main bar to the chill bar.  They always had my ice cold beer ready and reloaded!!!     I enjoyed all our talks and am grateful for all the stories we shared.   HAKUNA MATATA!!!!!

Amazing Resort!!!!

I had already been to Velassaru, but this time it was a truly unique experience, filled with a mix of emotions.The island has colors like no other — stunningly white, wide beaches and an incredible lagoon. There’s a fresh, new energy in the air that’s both uplifting and relaxing.The resort offers a wide range of activities: swimming in the lagoon, tennis, the new pilates studio, yoga sessions, sunrise cruises… and so much more. A lovely new addition: an Italian chef, bringing an extra touch of flavor to the culinary experience!Definitely a place to recommend — and I can’t wait to go back!

A truly unique experience with a pure. relaxing and authentique Maldivian experience

We’ve just returned from an unforgettable 13-night stay at Velassaru Maldives, and from start to finish, it was the definition of paradise. What made it truly stand out, beyond the stunning natural beauty, was the exceptional staff and management, who made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. They welcomed us warmly on arrival on the jetty and also kept us entertained throughout our stay. 

We travelled in late August, which turned out to be an ideal time. As it’s not high season, the resort was wonderfully peaceful and quiet, offering a real sense of privacy and calm. It also meant better rates and a more relaxed atmosphere. We felt very lucky with the weather too. Apart from one brief rainy morning, the rest of our stay was blessed with glorious sunshine and picture-perfect sunsets.

We spent 11 nights in a Beach Villa with Pool and loved it so much we extended our original stay which should have been only 7 nights . The villa was spacious, secluded, and beautifully designed, with a tropical garden, a private pool, and direct beach access. The outdoor shower area was a highlight, liberating, refreshing, and one of those little luxuries that made every day feel like a spa day.

The villa’s location, just steps away from Chill Bar, made it even better. Chill Bar quickly became our go-to spot for late afternoon drinks and ocean views. The staff there were always friendly and attentive, service was consistently excellent they had our drinks and wasabi peanuts ready as soon as we arrived. 

For our final 2 nights, we moved to a Water Villa on stilts which gave us a different but equally memorable experience. Waking up to the sound of the ocean, watching different reef fish species from our deck, and soaking in uninterrupted ocean views, it was magical. Just a small word of caution: the currents can be quite strong, so if you’re planning to swim directly from your villa, do take care.

What truly made our stay exceptional was the warmth, professionalism, and genuine care from every member of the Velassaru team. From management to the restaurant hostess and waiting staff, reception to room service and gardeners, every interaction felt polite, personal and thoughtful. They are the heart of Velassaru and you can tell they love what they do. It shows in the seamless service and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

One of the most unexpected and appreciated gestures came at departure. We were accompanied all the way through the airport by a member of staff from the hotel who helped us navigate check-in, luggage, and security with ease. That level of service, right to the very end, left a lasting impression.

Velassaru is the perfect choice if you’re seeking peace, privacy, and understated luxury. From the beautiful villas and perfect weather to the incredible service and small touches that go above and beyond, everything was exactly what we hoped for.
We left feeling deeply relaxed and incredibly well cared for. Thank you to the entire Velassaru team, you turned a holiday into something truly special.

A perfect little corner of paradise

Our family recently returned from an incredible stay at Velassaru Maldives, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff greeted us warmly and made check-in seamless, instantly making us feel at home. Special thanks go to Shehan and Sarah. They were amazing. 
The villas were stunning spacious, comfortable, and perfectly suited for family relaxation. We appreciated the thoughtful touches prepared especially for our children.
Dining was a true highlight. The resort’s variety of restaurants offered something for everyone. We loved casual meals at Vela and beachside dining at Turquoise, where fresh seafood was outstanding. The kitchen staff went above and beyond, customizing dishes to our dietary needs with a friendly smile. Chef Iranga’s culinary expertise and hospitality was amazing. The Fen Bar was our favourite spot for evening drinks, with attentive bar staff special thanks goes to Prashanth and Nishan for creating delicious cocktails (specially Lamborghini) for us and fun mocktails for kids made every evening so special. Chill bar also a place where we enjoyed beautiful sunset. 
Activities were fun and engaging. The water sports team was fantastic patient, professional, and great with kids specially in snorkelling with sharks (Tom, Fathih, and the team) kayaking ( special thanks goes to Fathih) , and paddleboarding. Our sunrise cruise was a magical experience, with staff ensuring safety while sharing fascinating welcoming morning experience.
What stood out most was the genuine kindness and professionalism of every staff member from reception to restaurant, bar, water sports, and kitchen teams. Each person contributed to a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made our family feel truly valued.
Photo shoot experience was amazing and special thanks goes to the photographer. 
Velassaru is the perfect blend of luxury, adventure, and heartfelt service. It gave us beautiful memories and brought us closer as a family. We cannot recommend this resort highly enough for families seeking a magical tropical getaway.

Unforgetable family holiday experience

I stayed in a private pool room in June, and it was honestly great. The weather was spectacular. The food was undoubtedly one of the highlights ,delicious and diverse, it truly satisfied every craving. There were multiple cuisines for different nights with a variety of options to choose from. Room service was top notch too. The staff were really friendly as well. I didn’t face any difficulties during my stay.
The amenities were excellent, with a special mention to the private pool, which was maintained regularly by the staff and was crystal clear throughout my stay. The overall atmosphere of the island was perfect for relaxation, surrounded by the greenery that felt like a serene nature park. 
The ambience throughout the resort created a peaceful and ultra luxurious vibe, making it an ideal getaway spot. I highly recommend here for anyone seeking a combination of natural beauty, comfort, and exceptional hospitality from the staff.
