I stayed this summer at The Residence in Mauritius for a week this summer with my parents and my two sisters. Not only is an incredibly beautiful place to stay but the service made our stay unforgettable. They care about every little detail so the only thing we had to care about was enjoying the activities and of course the beach, one of the most recommended in the island...
We all are grateful with the staff and We hope We will be back some day.
We spontaneously decided to stay at The Residence in Mauritius and loved every single thing. Check In was fast, welcoming and personal but at the same time quick and efficient. The room we had was on the top floor with a nice view and a beautiful balcony...
The room had a luxurious bathroom and a nice bedroom with everything you need. The hotel offered a large range of things you can do, such as tennis, ping pong, football, Beachvolleyball, spa, gym and an awesome restaurant by the beach. Dinner at the main restaurant was great as well. It was a different dinner theme every night - highly recommend to stay here!
Our stay at The Residence was the highlight of our time in Mauritius purely because we felt so at home in paradise.
The relaxing atmosphere engulfs you as soon as you step into the breathtaking foyer. With views out onto the sparking Indian Ocean you won't want to leave!
The staff are incredibly attentive and looked after my family which included a 4 month old baby (very popular with Sabrina). Check-in was seamless, we didn't lift a finger as it was all done for us whilst we sipped on freshly made iced tea...
Our bags were unloaded and delivered to our rooms and our car was parked for us. Our butlers Kev & Abhi even offered to unpack our bags for us!
The spa is well equipped with an extremely relaxing atmosphere and lounging area. The gym isn't the largest but it has everything you need for a decent workout.
We stayed in Colonial garden view rooms (we could see the sea at an angle from our balconies) which were extremely spacious. The bed was comfortable and we had robes and slippers provided for us. The bathroom was huge with a walk in wardrobe and a separate shower. The travel cot for the baby was a full sized one and looked brand new with clean and soft bedding provided.
We stayed half board but felt full all the time as the buffet breakfast and dinners were so filling. During our 7 night stay we had so much variety and different freshly cooked foods from various cultures - we especially loved the sea food.
My daughter and her husband went paragliding a the resort and had rave reviews, We also went on a complimentary glass bottom boat ride but we didn't have time try out all of the other activities.
The hotel is sited right on the beach so there is a section reserved for the guests. It is clean and well looked after and the sun loungers by the pool cannot be reserved so every one gets a fair chance at getting one throughout the day.
We recommend hiring a car if you can as the area is quiet and not walkable. You'd need to drive to the next town (Trou d'eau Deuce) to find a convenience or souvenir store.
We stayed in February but the weather was warm and breezy and the sunsets were beautiful. Throughout our stay the staff couldn't do enough for us and Selvi looked after all our requests whilst we were there. We won't hesitate to stay at the Residence again and we are so grateful we got to experience it in 2020.
the residence mauritius is just amazing! my parents found this idilic hotel first and loved it so much that we went the next year. We loved it so much and had such a fantastic stay we recommended it to our friends who spent their honeymoon there and since then we have returned again! The staff are super attentive whilst also giving you your privacy. The beach is stunning, white sand and the clearest water! You will have an amazing stay if you visit the residence mauritius! we will be back!
Where to even begin with this hotel - just absolutely fantastic.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the upmost professionalism, and quite frankly made to feel like royalty.
We opted for an ocean view room which was well worth it.
The food in all areas was 5* quality, especially at the Plantation restaurant. Only the highest quality of ingredients used for food and drinks.
Nothing was too much hassle for the hotel staff. Amazing butler service which came with our room...
The hotel also arranged surprises for us both small and large as it was our honeymoon - just fantastic.
We did get a bit of a rainy season during our stay, but even that could not dampen our spirits at this phenomenal hotel.
If you are looking for luxury, please book here. You will not regret it.
