We had an excellent 8 nights at Constance le Chaland. A particular shoutout to Robin who was a huge highlight for our two girls and we also enjoyed regular excellent service from the staff at the Aqua bar - Manesh and Kishore looked after us well. Kanishka ensured we had a fast and friendly checkout. We can’t fault the resort - relaxation in a quiet, beautiful setting which was perfect for us and our two young daughters. Excellent food, drink (with sommelier wine service) and high standards of professionalism with everything. We loved the evening entertainment and the cocktails. We definitely recommend the all inclusive package which includes nearly everything. We used the spa, the tennis courts, the beach and enjoyed both pools. We enjoyed a private snorkelling trip in Blue Bay marine park which was a definite favourite. We would love to return! Thank you so much for making our stay so special. The Piersons 🙂

Beautiful Beachfront Resort & Exceptional Spa, with Some Important Areas for Improvement

Overall, our stay at Constance Le Chaland was good to very good. The resort has a beautiful beachfront location, wonderful sea views, enjoyable activities, and a relaxing atmosphere. We stayed in Deluxe Beach Access rooms, and having the sea directly in front of us with easy beach access was definitely one of the best aspects of our stay.

The Spa & Massage – Exceptional

Without a doubt, the spa and massage experience was one of the highlights of our entire stay. The level of professionalism, care, and attention from the massage team was exceptional.

We enjoyed our first experience so much that we returned several times during our stay and tried different types of massages. Every session was excellent, relaxing, and delivered with great skill and consistency.

A very special thank you to Yashna, Shanee, Lumiah, and Alex. They were extremely professional, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely committed to making every experience special. The spa and massage service is one of the strongest aspects of this resort, and I would highly recommend it.

Rooms, Beach & Activities

The Deluxe Beach Access rooms were an excellent choice. The beautiful sea views and direct access to the beach added significantly to our experience. The beach, natural surroundings, views, and activities offered by the resort were all very enjoyable.

Food & Restaurants

The overall quality of the food was very good, and there was a good variety throughout our stay.

However, on some evenings the main restaurant focused heavily on a particular themed cuisine, such as Indian, Thai, or East Asian food, with limited alternatives. Themed evenings are a nice idea, but guests have different tastes. In my opinion, there should always be a good international selection available alongside the themed menu.

There are other restaurant options, including Indian and seafood, but they require advance reservations and have limited seating capacity. This can make dining choices somewhat restrictive, particularly during a longer stay.

The coffee service in the restaurants could also be improved. There seemed to be some inconsistency in understanding different coffee orders, and on several occasions we received a different type of coffee from what we had requested.

Room Service

Room service was unfortunately one of the weaker areas. Requests could take a long time, and on several occasions we had to repeat the same request two, three, or even four times before it was attended to.

For a resort of this level, I believe responsiveness and follow-up should be significantly better.

A Serious Safety Concern – Stray Dogs

The most concerning issue during our stay was the presence of stray dogs regularly entering and remaining around the resort.

Although these dogs apparently come from outside the hotel, they were present around the property on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, my daughter was actually attacked by the dogs. They rushed at her aggressively, and one of them bit and caught her clothing. Thankfully, the bite caught her clothing, but the incident was frightening and could potentially have been much more serious.

Regardless of whether the dogs originate outside the property, once they are regularly entering areas used by hotel guests, I believe this becomes a hotel safety responsibility. Management should take appropriate and humane measures to prevent stray dogs from entering guest areas, particularly considering the number of families and children staying at the resort.

Overall

Overall, I would describe our experience as good to very good. Constance Le Chaland has a beautiful location, fantastic sea views, direct beach access, enjoyable activities, and very good food.

The Deluxe Beach Access rooms and, above all, the exceptional spa and massage team were the highlights of our stay.

With better room-service responsiveness, more flexibility in dining options, improved consistency in coffee service, and serious attention to the stray-dog issue, this resort has the potential to provide an excellent overall experience.
