We had an absolutely wonderful time at Constance Prince Maurice and cannot recommend this resort highly enough. Everything about our stay was top-tier, and we particularly appreciated the spacious, beautifully designed layout of the entire property. A few highlights that made our stay extra special: World-Class Service: The service provided by the entire team was exceptional—attentive, warm, and truly operating at the highest level. Outstanding Sports & Fitness Facilities: The athletic offerings are fantastic. We really enjoyed playing tennis and had a wonderful coaching lesson with Paul. The fitness center is top-notch, and the wide array of complimentary water sports kept us entertained throughout our stay. Golf: We were very pleasantly surprised to find that golf was included, which was a huge highlight for us! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time here and look forward to returning. Thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable vacation!
The Prince Maurice is the most perfect destination if you cherish a wonderfully located, relatively small hotel in the beautiful tropical island of Mauritius. The atmosphere created by all the amazing, genuinely friendly staff is absolutely top grade - the Constance group clearly look after all their team very well.
The scale, style and quality of their rooms are among the features we return for year on year - you will fall in love with it all! Read all about the wide range of facilities they offer - so much to do and all of the highest quality
This was our fourth stay at the Prince Maurice and it was wonderful. We were celebrating our Ruby Wedding anniversary and the management and staff went above and beyond their usual level of, what is, exceptional service to look after us. The food is divine and beautifully presented, the newly refurbished villa was amazing and our spa treatments were fabulous. The golf courses are lovely (challenging!) and completely complimentary which is a real bonus
We can't wait to return again. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making our stay so memorable.
We have been visiting the hotel yearly for the last 4 years. It was excellent four years ago and has become even better. The service is outstanding , from check in ot departure the staff make you feel at home. We have used thye hotel and the golf clubs extensively and have alwasy found it so good that we return every year. We are already booked for the next year. We did meet a lot of returning guest which says a lot about this hotel.
Le Prince Maurice remains at the top of its game and justifiably heads the TripAdvisor list of the very best of the hotels in Mauritius. You need only to stay here to know why.
There is a truly special and quite magical moment when one enters the property. An exotic scent pervades the entire space of the impressive foyer where one’s senses are instantly anaesthetised and the mundane stresses of every day existence miraculously disappear at the vision that greets every guest who is fortunate to have chosen this remarkable 'hotel' in Paradise. It really does have that effect!
Greeted by smiling faces of the reception team who remarkably always remember our names we are once again escorted to a comfortable sofa overlooking the vast infinity pool that seems to merge seamlessly with the turquoise blue lagoon of the Indian Ocean beyond. Here we are offered cool towels scented with the same intoxicating perfume together with a refreshing fruit cocktail whilst we complete a simple registration process.
Eventually and almost reluctantly we have to tear ourselves away from this dreamy moment to be accompanied by one of the charming Guest Relations hosts to the master bedroom at the ultra luxurious Princely Suite with its own two private swimming pools and with wonderful views to the gardens, palm fringed white sand beach and lagoon beyond. We could quite happily move in and live in this amazing space!
The delicious cuisine in L'Archipel restaurant spotlights the creations of Michaël Scioli, the charming and personable Executive Chef who together with his team of talented disciples and attentive waiting staff create a truly memorable dining experience every evening.
A sumptuous breakfast is also taken in L'Archipel with stunning views over that infinity pool, the beach and lagoon beyond, a wonderful way to start the day. The buffet is extensive and there is an eclectic choice of tempting dishes to suit all tastes and nationalities. The pastries are ‘to die for’.....and here I must give special thanks to Stephane and Ivan for the delicious and outstanding patisserie you tempted us with daily both at breakfast and dinner.
The romantic and unusual Le Barachois floating restaurant on the lagoon is an experience simply not to be missed. The cuisine is utterly delectable and innovative and where else can you enjoy dinner whilst watching friendly sharks swimming in the lagoon beneath?
The beautiful main infinity pool is surely a misnomer. I can't think of another synonym to describe this vast expanse of liquid blue that seems to merge and be at one with the water of the lagoon beyond. An incredibly clever optical illusion that warrants an accolade for genius design. The surrounding pool terrace is equally as spacious and sunbeds are spaced generously well apart for both privacy and intimacy. The pool attendants glide silently and discreetly amongst the sun worshippers to pander to their every need. Oh that all hotel pools were the same!
Service on the white sand beach continues in a similar vein. The beach attendants at this exquisite hotel are always available for refreshments and towels and complimentary fresh morning pineapple 'lollipops' and ice cream/sorbet in the afternoon.
I visited the Spa on two occasions, an ultra relaxing space for a truly therapeutic massage with Isram, an indefinable and special experience. His massage anaesthetised my mind and annihilated any anxieties invoking a natural harmony within. I felt I was floating on air during and after the treatments.
Our special thanks to the charming and always smiling Sylvabelle Angeline, the Assistant Executive Manager of the hotel, an invaluable member of the management team. Sylvabelle, we really enjoyed our chats and moments together and ultimately the impromptu lunch we enjoyed in your lovely company. We think of you as a dear friend.
Thanks also to Shaan, Front Officer Manager and his equally charming assistant Ehad and to both Pooven and Santoo for looking after us so well in the restaurants.
Our final thanks must go to Christophe Plantier the General Manager of Le Prince Maurice, Sebastien Mamet, the Hotel Manager who with the rest of the team run a very tight ship and whose unfailing influence made our stay at Le Prince Maurice an unforgettable experience. We can hardly wait to return.
Our personalised travel arrangements were organised by the enthusiastic Susie Freeman, who in our opinion is the best representative and travel agent specialising in Mauritius and the Indian Ocean.
This review reflects and is based on our 4th visit to Le Prince Maurice.
