This is what a holiday beach hotel should look like – the soft sand, the endless blue horizons and the wonderful tranquillity. The Lux Grand Gaube Hotel in Mauritius is the perfect island get-away. It's beautifully designed; you'll spot the local influences at once– the thatched roofs, the harmony with nature and the relaxing, laidback atmosphere. But there's inspiration from the Far East too – with influences from feng shui helping to make the Lux Grand Gaube Hotel one of the most relaxing places to stay in Mauritius.
Occupying a stunning location near the lovely fishing village of Grand Gaube on the north coast, the Lux Grand Gaube Hotel gives you everything you'd expect of the finest beach hotel. The wonders of Mauritius are all around you – the beach, the miles of unspoilt forests, and the breathtaking views at every turn. But there's more to Mauritius – this is a vibrant, welcoming island, full of colour and music, and it's all waiting for you to discover it.
So the Lux Grand Gaube Hotel is the best place to start. There really aren't any more spectacular settings. The hotel is bordered by no fewer than three beaches – and a beautiful big lagoon. Views extend out over the northern isles of Mauritius and there's something spectacular to see from almost every vantage point.
From your room you can look out over the sea or the magnificent countryside and just soak it all up. Sit out on your furnished balcony or terrace and watch the waves crash gently against the shore, or listen to the gentle breeze rustling through the trees. These are the sights and sounds you'll never want to forget. Superior rooms at Lux Grand Gaube Hotel are magnificent. They're all ensuite and air conditioned, and benefit from additional features including telephone, satellite TV, minibar, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi internet access. Deluxe rooms and suites are also available at a supplement.
As well as all those beaches to explore, you'll have four swimming pools to choose from – and that tranquil lagoon. There is also an excellently equipped fitness centre and a relaxing spa. In fact you can play sports, or you can swim, or you can windsurf or do any number of things… Or you might just want to make every effort to relax like never before. This really is the place to do it.
To aid your relaxation and contentment, you won't have to look far for the perfect meal. The Lux Grand Gaube Hotel boasts an outstanding selection of restaurants. Again local and Far Eastern influences have a bearing on the cuisine, but there is such a wonderfully eclectic mix on offer, from the best local food to barbeques and lighter offerings.
It's no surprise the Lux Grand Gaube Hotel is one of the most romantic hotels in the world. This is a beautiful, serene and utterly beguiling place – a perfect synthesis of setting and ambience that will completely charm you.
Situated on the North Coast at Grand Gaube, Lux* Grand Gaube occupies an idyllic position only a few minutes away from a quiet fishing village. Designed with Feng Shui in mind the hotel radiates a tranquil ambiance. Offering stunning views of the northern isles of Mauritius and bordered by 3 beaches and a serene lagoon, it is no wonder this hotel was awarded Trip Advisor's most romantic hotel in the world in 2008.
Stayed at Lux* Grande Gaube from March 9th to the 23rd in room 6117 for our 42nd wedding anniversary, having previously stayed for our 30th, and 40th we just had to return. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we checked in from all the staff coming to say hello and welcome back.
We visited all the restaurants that we wanted to, never had a problem with making a reservation for dinner. The food is superb in all restaurants, from burgers at the Burger Shake, to pizzas at Beach Rouge, and meze at Bodrum Blue...
The Palm Court (buffet) food is excellent, from a bespoke salad station, pizza, Chinese, Indian plus local delicacy’s, there is something for everyone. The staff are fantastic and made our holiday so would like to say thank you to the following:
The Beach: Reedoo who remembered us from previous visits and is more like a friend now and goes above and beyond to make your stay at the beach wonderful.
Palm Court: Ricardo and everyone who works there, thank you.
Café Lux, all the girls are fabulous and new what we wanted when we left the beach at the end of the day.
It’s a shame that the holiday was not as relaxing and recuperating as we had hoped and no fault of the hotel but down to Covid-19, The staff could not do enough for us during this difficult time for guests and staff alike. I wish to say thank you to you all and making sure that we were safe and sorry that we never got to say goodbye to all the staff that have become friends.
We will be back to this wonderful hotel, when everything gets back to normal.
Take care and stay safe. Maria & Garry
Can’t explain how amazing this place is! From food to service and amenities- you couldn’t wish for anything more! We went all inclusive and it was definitely worth it! We ate in all 7 restaurants and everyone of them was incredible! The daily water skiing is worth a try! We also did scuba diving which was really amazing! This place is out of this world!
This was such a beautiful hotel. Brand new and of lovely design. The hotel was at full capacity but it never felt like there were too many people there...
Everything was spotless and well maintained. The service was excellent from start to finish with some of the nicest staff ever. The food was great in all the restaurants we tried and the breakfast was just beyond anything we've seen.
Both beaches are beautiful, but one is adults-only. We stayed in the Deluxe room with the most beautiful view of a private bay.
We got married at the hotel and it was a beautiful, private ceremony, arranged by Valerie, their wedding coordinator. Valerie, thank you for everything! You made our special day so easy :)
Other stuff worth mentioning:
Sending our thoughts and love to the amazing management & staff at Lux Grand Gaube ... we are praying for you and your families.... hopefully we will all be together again when this terrible situation is done...
Our love and prayers David & Jayne Reed
I stayed in march 9 nights, room only, solo. I was amazed at the professionalism, kindness and politeness of the staff, ALL of them. The Manager Jean-Benoit was very caring and resolved a small issue that meant a lot to me...
They all have a genuine desire and efforts to make you spend the best holiday possible. Selvina at the coffee shop Cafe Lux was also brilliant. I am a VERY difficult client and i cannot fault anything in that hotel. I travel also a lot to 4 or 5 star hotels. There are 6 restaurants (the food is very good), 2 beaches, 2 pools (one no-kids zone, alleluia!!) so the hotel does not feel too big. Water ski is free of charge. Scuba diving center organises great dives thanks to Emile. I will come back as soon as the Covid19 is over .... this was amazing. I definitely recommend this hotel +++
