For more active guests, the resort offers kayaking, glass-bottom boat trips and cycling, while the nearby village is also within easy reach.
Each room is designed for comfort, featuring a private balcony or terrace with views of the gardens, or ocean views for a supplement. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, safe, hairdryer and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Guests looking for extra space can opt for one of the thatched cottages, which offer a more private setting and the option for self-catering. Shiva & Team well done
We had wonderful stay. Overall the services and staff on the top. We had an issue our room which was upstair then, we informed the front desk and needful has been by Mr. Shiva. Bhavani professionally took our feedback and Sanjay from restaurant. Two wonderful massages was done by the spa team. Thank you all for your mauritian hospitality. Keep it up Manager Shiva and team.
Fantastic , friendly holiday & great value for money
What an excellent stay/ holiday from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Location was great for us, 10 minute walk into troux au biche, 10 minute uber/ taxi into grand baie. We used uber as worked out cheaper. 2 minute walk to the hotel beach. The majority of staff who were permanent were friendly, helpful and attentive. Special mention goes out to Kunal in the pool bar, Sunjay and Steeve in the main restaurant and Ella our maid who went that extra mile to make an enjoyable stay to a fantastic stay.
There were a number of trainees at the hotel from different countries who I have to say always tried to help but the language was sometimes a barrier, but this was never a problem for us.
The entertainment was good and yes sometimes it was catered for locals, however this was at weekends and you are in Mauritius so we just joined in with them and they made us more than welcome The atmosphere at the hotel was always friendly and welcoming. On weekends the music can be a little loud due to the local dj coming to play for an event, however by midnight all went quiet.
Rooms was kept immaculately clean by our maid Ella.
Reception staff were friendly and always helpful as were porters, chefs, waiters.
The hotel and grounds were always clean and well kept. Bocce court was poor as gritty and uneven.
Food was good and always plenty of choice. If you have a preference or are struggling just speak to one of the managers, Sunjay it Steeve5 and they will help you out.
The only disappointing thing about our holiday was the afternoon snack bar due to the very limited options and similar items everyday. Pancakes, cake and pakoras , mini cheese pasties
No hesitations in recommending this hotel especially for the price we paid and if the opportunity arises we will definitely be going back
We did a boat trip to the east coast, had a fab day with a great bbq and actually saw dolphins . Booked this thru Vijay on the beach. He was really helpful and arranged taxis etc for us as well.
We book a trip to see the south west coast thru Viator and again we had a great day. However the rum factory tour was disappointing and as someone who loves rum it’s not worth the money.
We got the bus into grand baie and went to the bazaar. The streets leading up to it were fab with the odd little local bar. The bazaar itself was a bit disappointing as all the stalls are the same.
I can recommend the banana club in grand baie, went there for my wife’s birthday, had a delicious meal and had a fab evening listening to a band, followed by the resident dj
The wildlife park was good, but walking with the lions made it exceptional

Excellent service. We asked for rooms in a quieter part of the hotel and Shiva immediately took care of it. He gave us and our two boys a generous upgrade. He was exceptionally welcoming. Everybody is friendly and helpful. The garden is beautiful, lots of flowers, palms, bougainvilleas. There are two nice pools and the beach is just some steps away. You can snorkel, see colourful fishes, get free kayaks and a lot more. It's a dream. Thanks especially to Shiva. Great value
Lovely Stay @ Casurina Resort and Spa
Excellent resort for a family vacation, nice options and variety for lunch and dinner, 1 minute walk to the beach, free kayaking, paddle boarding, friendly and helpful staff, warm hospitality from the manager Ashley and staff. Entertainment at night by the pool bar, Clean rooms, everything needed for a great holiday.
A great stay at Hotel Casuarina Resort and Spa
A great hotel, has a good location near a lovely beach. Accommodation is good, though some of the rooms could do with updating. The staff are amazing, especially the staff in the restaurant where they were very accommodating re. allergies and the service they provided, which was excellent. The entertainment staff are very welcoming and their offer included a good range of music and activities to suit everyone. Cleanliness was also very good as the room was cleaned daily. All in all we had a really fantastic holiday and would like to return to
