After a lot of research, we chose Heritage Le Telfair for our dream holiday and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, it was well above and beyond our expectations. For once the pictures do not do the architecture and beauty of this resort justice...
Firstly, the staff. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Especially from Ashish our much loved resident host and Noor who looked after us when Ashish was away. We can’t thank you enough for your attention to detail and advice and guidance to ensure we got the very most from our stay. All staff are so friendly and helpful and hardworking it’s hard to name them all. However, we had excellent service from Parvesh in Le Palmier, Ashil in Gin’ja and Ornella the excellent sommelier.
The food, wine and restaurants were all amazing and varied and I’d highly recommend the gourmet bliss package to anyone intending to stay. Rooms were spotless and well tended to twice daily by a great team of cleaning staff.
Thank you also to managers, Christoph, Raul and Clifford for making our holiday a truly unforgettable one (and for cheering Samuel on, on the putting green!). We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It truly was paradise and we WILL be back. Thanks and much love, Lisa Carter and Samuel Harris.
Had an amazing food journey at Telfair this weekend. Ate at Le Palmier on Saturday, and loved it! The staff was very friendly and made up for the rainy weather. Strongly recommend the palmiste and seafood entree...
Then on Monday we ate at Gin’ja where we were also greeted with a warm and masked staff (thank you!). The food and view were great. The pad Thai has a pretty generous portion and the sushi was very fresh.
We stayed at Heritage Le Telfair for the first 5 nights of our honeymoon, and our stay was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We booked the Gourmet Bliss package which is their all inclusive offering.
The check in process was very smooth and easy, as double vaccinated travellers from the UK we showed the relevant paper work and the hotel nurse administered a lateral flow test after we had our welcome drink, we were then able to explore the hotel freely.
Le Telfair very kindly gave us an amazing room upgrade for our honeymoon, and the suite was very impressive...
The twice daily room service was great and we looked forward to the little treats left in our room every day!
We were introduced to our resident host on our first afternoon and she helped us with all of our restaurant booking and activities throughout our stay, she came to say hi every morning at breakfast and asked if we needed anything for the day. We also had her number so she was contactable off ever we needed anything. She arranged a lovely romantic meal for us one evening which was really appreciated.
Breakfast at Annabella’s was really good, a large selection of cooked and continental breakfast, including some delicious pastries and also fresh honey from a honeycomb within the grounds!
For lunch we ready enjoyed C Beach Club and Infinity Blue, which belonged to the sister hotel Awali just down the beach.
C Beach Club was a lovely area in the day time for sunbathing, swimming and a great variety of water sport’s and boat trips included in the Gourmet Bliss package. We didn’t visit in the evening but enjoyed some post beach drinks there in the late afternoon.
The evening food was amazing and the nicest food we have had at an all inclusive hotel, each restaurant offers a large choice of starters, mains and deserts. We chose to eat al all a la carte options so didn’t try the Annabella’s buffet in the evening. There was a great selection of wine also included in the Gourmet Bliss package, and each restaurant had a Sommelier on hand which was a really great touch!
Our favourite evening restaurant was Gin’ja, it had a lovely ambiance and delicious food, it also has a bar which is perfect for watching the sunset.
We had a great evening in the Chateau where the food and drinks were great but the service was slightly slow, however we may have just been spoilt by the outstanding service everywhere else in the hotel! We had a lovely evening and it was nice to leave the main hotel resort in a golf buggy to make the evening feel different to others!
Every single team member we met was kind, friendly and made you feel very special and welcome, they really do go above and beyond to ensure you have an amazing stay. A special thanks to Anhil and Yoan at Gin’ja, Yoven at Annabella’s and our resident host Loveiskha for their amazing hospitality.
We didn’t try the spa or the wellness facilities whilst we were there as we were enjoying the various beaches and pools. We also didn’t try the golf.
There are 6 pools to choose from across the 2 hotels (Le Telfair and Awali) and we enjoyed them all. There are also lots of beach areas with drinks service to your beds!
Overall we had a fantastic stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return or to recommend the hotel. Thank you Le Telfair for making the first part of our honeymoon so special!
I went to the Heritage Le Telfair with my wife and step-daughter. We all enjoyed our time there greatly. The food was terrifiic...
I would definitely recommned booking a meal at the The Chateaux maybe arriving earlier to watch the sunset. The service was wonderfful - a couple of prominent examples - the pastry chef Pamela went out of her way to make special dishes for my wife who eats gluten free, and Widley who gave us a great tour of the the south of the island, showing us some great spots, and being very helpful as well as entertaining driving us around. To round it off we had a lovely room. All in all, a terrific stay.
After 2 years of no foreign travel, Heritage Le Telfair was like a little slice of heaven!
On arrival we were greeted with an extremely warm welcome from the reception staff, concierge and even the hotel management! We were then introduced to our personal host Melvin (more about him later!) and given a tour of the resort then shown to our room.
Our room was absolutely stunning…light, bright, clean, well decorated and spacious, but the highlight was the absolutely incredible view from our balcony of the beach and sea, framed by palm trees. The worlds comfiest king size bed and silkiest bed linen, combined with that amazing view made it an absolute dream to sleep and wake up in!
The resort has excellent facilities; two lovely pools, a stunning private beach, comfy sun loungers, a gorgeous spa, gym, water sports, the list goes on; making it a great destination whether you want to simply relax or be active, or a bit of both.
Food wise, we opted for the all inclusive Gourmet Bliss package which I would highly recommend. There are several à la carte restaurants to choose from within Le Telfair as well as the neighbouring Awali resort, and at Le Château (a short golf buggy trip away)...
90% of the food and drinks menus is included in the GB package so you really can’t go wrong. Each restaurant had something different to offer but everywhere we ate the food was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were also excellent! Our personal favourite was the Japanese restaurant Gin’ja - we adored the sushi and also had a great time at the Teppinyaki experience.
Last but by no means least, thank you to all the incredible staff who really make the experience at Le Telfair what it is! Every single staff member we encountered works so hard to make everything perfect for their guests. From the housekeepers to the maintenance staff, concierge, front desk, all restaurant and bar staff & management team - every single one was incredibly attentive, friendly and willing to go the extra mile!
A very special mention has to go to our wonderful host Melvin. Melvin was always on hand to assist us with anything we needed - no job was too big or too small! He supported us with restaurant reservations, spa bookings, taxis, excursions, golf and any & every other general enquiry! Melvin was always checking in on us to ensure we were happy and we really owe our fantastic experience to him. Melvin - you’re a star!
All the staff were wonderful and we wish we could name them all, but as well as Melvin we would also like to say a special thanks to Antoine at the concierge desk, Widley for providing us with excellent transportation, Ravin for being a wonderful guide for our hike up Le Morne Brabant, and Vishesh our fabulous Teppinyaki chef!
Overall we had a fantastic stay and we were very sad to leave. We would not hesitate to recommend Le Telfair to anyone travelling to Mauritius
