Exactly as my title goes, this is my Home away from Home. I cannot recall going to Hikkaduwa and not staying at this place. from the moment you get out of the vehicle to the moment you leave, you're at home...
The staff are attentive and friendly. They're courteous but not invading. They're professional and polite. very special mentions to the restaurant staff like Lalaka and his crew. Rohan, Mr. Bandara, Sanjaya and Jagath are some of my point of contacts. It all shows who much is invested by the management, Mr. Siri Gunawardana and the Executive team to groom and train them.
We waited 3 years for this holiday and it was well worth the wait. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, maybe a little tired in some areas but very clean and comfortable. The food is delicious with a good selection of local and international dishes...
The buffet area is well organised for the Covid restrictions that were still in place when we visited. The staff here simply cannot do enough for you, especially the pool and restaurant staff. It's beautifully situated on the beach with its own PADI diving centre. There are lots of tours that are accessible from this area too.
We would recommend staying here to anyone, and if you are thinking about going to Sri Lanka, they really need tourists back in the country as soon as possible.
I stayed 2 nights here, but I did not feel comfortable. The room is noisy and I did not feel it to be clean, the Food is under average, the beach is dirty, the pool is OK, the staff is very friendly. After a completenfull te pesti on it can be a 3*hotel.
From the moment we arrived at this lovely hotel we were treated with tremendous respect as every single need of ours was catered to with a smile. The hotel itself is situated remarkably on the beach, we were spoilt for choice each say as we were unsure whether to go to the beach or the beautiful pool located at the hotel. The rooms were fantastic and the beds were very comfortable...
We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this hotel and the food and drink were truly first class, with a delicious assortment of Sri Lankan and Western foods. My family and I cannot wait to return in a year or two.
Yesterday morning I booked this hotel as it advertised itself at "Hotels.com" as a facility which solely can be booked for quarantine stays. I did so due to the fact that I an hour earlier had received a positive covid-19 test.
The text in Danish at the presentation of the Hotel.com says "Dette hotel kan kun benyttes i forbindelse med karantæneophold. " to those more than 99% of the world that cannot understand Danish I can say, that the text is a very clear confirmation of the ability of the hotel to handle guests in quarantine.
At arrival the reception manager without any excuse canceled my reservation denying that the hotel accept people in quarantine...
He shouted at me and threw me out in an extremely rude and hostile manner.
