The Long Beach Resort occupies an idyllic beachfront location overlooking the turquoise sea at the popular resort of Koggala. The area of Koggala is famed for having possibly the best beaches in Sri Lanka and the main restaurant and the bar both offer spectacular views of the Indian Ocean.
With just 90 rooms, the Long Beach Resort is small enough to feel personal but big enough to have a sense of fun and a holiday atmosphere. It's laid back, comfortable and friendly – just want you need for a relaxed holiday away from the constant demands of life in the West.
Escaping to Sri Lanka for your holiday in the sun is a wonderful way to really get away from it all. The aptly named Long Beach Resort has a stunning beach location – just imagine the frothy white surf breaking on clean golden sand stretching out into the distance as far as the eye can see. Here the sound of the palm tree leaves rustling in the breeze and the waves lapping the beach are all you need to switch off and relax into holiday mode.
Accommodation at The Long Beach Resort is supremely comfortable and in keeping with the holiday vibe. You can wake up to that amazing sea view (what a way to start the day!) perhaps taking coffee out on to your private terrace or balcony so you can really admire it whilst planning how to spend your time.
For added comfort, rooms are all air conditioned and en suite. You also find all mod cons provided including satellite TV, music docking station, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, mini fridge, in room safe, tea and coffee making facilities and telephone.
Once you leave behind your private space and explore the resort itself you'll be pleased with the choice of two lovely swimming pools, as well as two restaurants for you to try. For a cool drink and a chat, try the bar and lounge; for some holiday souvenirs, nip to the shopping arcade; and for a bit of exercise, why not go for a spot of badminton? One other thing that's so popular in this part of the world is yoga – and you'll have a chance to do that too if you fancy it.
After a day spent relaxing, The Long Beach Resort changes pace in the evening when the entertainment programme kicks in. This holiday really does have something for everyone.

From Day 1 to Day 14 of our stay at Long Beach Koggala, the super friendly staff accomodating to all our needs made sure it was a leisurely stay for all 11 of us. The food was amazing each meal of the day, varying in between different cuisines, and the chef, who just had a very kind personality, always came to us after every meal asking us what we'd like for the next. And he and his team of cooks did a wonderful job with the food, day in and day out; even though we might have bothered them quite a bit with our requests! All in all, a memorable stay here at Long Beach Koggala throughout...
Would definitely recommend a visit here!
We stayed 2 nights at the hotel where the beach is naturally beautiful and Restaurant is well deserving of all praises. From the chef who is in a league of his own to all the workers who focused on the palates of their guests. Everything is wonderful until you checkout! When asked to provide me a receipt of our stay, they acted confused like i spoke a language from Star Trek! Everyone was calling everyone to see if this was even possible. An hour later after irritating the inner core of my absolute tolerance they assured me that the lady was writing me the declaration that we had indeed stayed there...
I asked them to email it to me as i left the hotel in disgust. The management came out of their rooms half awake and spoke in Sinhalese to further aggravate the unpleasantries and annoy a non native language speaker. We will not stay here nor advocate for anyone else to ever stay here. When we find a better hotel nearby, i hope to forward the chef’s resume to them along with the entire crew in the restaurant who cared about their guests and their jobs. The manager on duty went and hid in the closed office space to avoid dealing with guest. Don’t be fooled with the cardamom tea and petals of flowers on the bed. All I wanted was a receipt for my stay!! Imagine if you wanted a refund of your booking. Covid time and they only had 4 or 5 rooms rented out and we had 3. If you want guests, learn to deal with accommodating their reasonable requests for Receipt of their Stay. Your guest needed it for reasons of security not financial reporting. Again the Food is excellent. Rooms are comfortable. Front End Staff Big Toe Down! Knowledge is Power so educate your staff that your guest is not requesting something unconventional in the world of hotels. You don’t need to ask permission from the travel agent. You don’t need the approval of the Sri Lankan tourism Board. You don’t need the approval of your upper level management or the owner of the hotel who is probably dying for more business from me and my friends more so during the pandemic. A simple receipt of my stay is all we requested. I also asked for some fish food and that they gave us. I asked for nothing else and tipped more than price of the rooms and the food combined. Hotel staff reading this please ask yourself, was it worth losing a customer (7) of us while your chef and all the restaurant employees treated us like champs. They were dignified and honorable gentleman who kept an immaculate dining atmosphere and truly cared about our return and relationship with them and the hotel. Promote the restaurant staff to train the front end management and staff on hospitality and customer service. BTW i was so delighted with the restaurant that we insisted and paid for meals we didn’t order because of a language barrier. Theres my review! Most likely the cowardly management will not even contact me to offer a resolution!!
