Worst Experience Ever

Review by sindy21w

I have been to the Galadari Hotel before, they have always made a big fuzz about the NIC. I had perfectly scanned colored copies of both sides of my ID which I suggested to show until my NIC got there in 20 mins. The 2 front office staff members disrespected and was extremely rude about the situation...

The staff is extremely unprofessional and inflexible. I do not suggest this hotel for anyone expecting a speedy and easy check in. There are plenty of other better alternatives such as Jetwing Colombo Seven, they have the best customer service and the rates are just a difference of Rs3000.

Reduced Standards!!

Review by Tishan_Dheer Matara, Sri Lanka

Stayed at Galadari with few friends after a function this weekend. It took more than 45 minutes for us to get the rooms after the arrival. The first set of rooms given were not cleaned properly at all, the bathrooms were stinky, weren’t cleaned properly...

After our complaint got a better set of rooms but still the bathrooms had stains. We got in room dining for dinner and both took more than an hour for preparation. Reception staff wasn’t that helpful but the rest of the staff was helpful.

Convenient short stay.

Review by Thiliniii Colombo, Sri Lanka

The rooms were the same in 2020 compared to when I stayed in 2017. Everything else was convenient, however I personally feel that the rooms could be refurbished. Convenient if if you need to stay in Colombo for some quick requirements...

We also got a good rate, plus the service was good. I noticed that even the pens at the reception were sanitized, which was a good thing.

Nice location and view, good food and lounge

Review by lugano7

The hotel is located in the heart of the city. The views from the room was excellent, covering the sea front and the promenade. Food options are good and quality of food was also good...

It has a nice lounge. Overall a pleasant stay.

Overnight stay

Review by Fazeera L

My daughter and I checked in purely to take some time off from a hectic work life.

Due to the COVID situation, most Hotels in Sri Lanka had had to downgrade in order to survive. Galadari Hotel was no exception...

Rooms that were originally given for 5 figure amounts were now offered at almost half the price with reduced free amenities. B&B was no longer an option. Just accommodation only.

Considering the current market situation I do not blame them. However, this was a boon for us because we got to enjoy their star class service at a lesser price. That meant less luxuries. However, we were quite satisfied with what was provided.

At the Restaurant, we were the ONLY customers for both dinner and breakfast. Almost all the customers went outside to have their meals. This is not the fault of the hotel. Besides us, all customers were locals, and the others chose to eat street food rather than hotel food. I'm usually sceptical when eating at 5 star hotels because the food is always overpriced. But at Galadari, the quantity and the variety offered for the meal was well WORTH the price CHARGED. We would definitely return to the restaurant.

Service was excellent, and definitely lived up to our expectation.

Of course, you shouldn't miss out on the excellent view of Galle Face and the new port city under construction.
