The Mermaid Hotel and Club is at Kalutara, about 25 miles south of Colombo and overlooks a stretch of beautiful beach. A refurbishment has enhanced the spa and lounge areas and provided a completely new main restaurant. The hotel is set in 3.2 acres of coconut palms and has tranquil views of the beach.

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere would recommend for families with small kids.
Very child friendly hotel,alot of activities for kids including pool,darts , table tennis,squash,badminton,cricket,delicious food,kind staff(very obliging)overall it was lovely experience.We stayed for two nights.Highly recommend this hotel for families with kids
Day out package went well!
We had a wonderful experience on a day out package. The staff were welcoming and nice. Dinushika made sure we had a comfortable and memorable experience.
No Wifi and No fix even after three escalations
We stayed at Mermaid Hotel & Club, Kalutara on the 12th/13th of August 2026 in the sea-view room 310. At the time of check-in (12th), I was handed the Wifi Name and Password. When I reached the room, the Wifi was not working and I communicated this at 12:30 pm. There was no attempt at fixing it. I complained again at 3:30 pm. No fix. Then at 8 pm I literally walked to the reception and complained. No fix. At around 9 pm, a gentleman who identified himself as the owner approached us and stated that there is technical issue the whole day. No apology. Just his arrogant self-explanation. He assured that it will be fixed within the day. The Wifi was still not restored at the time of us checking out at noon on the following day (13th).
I frequently stay at Jetwing Hotels and I am surprised at this turn of events. I will not be visiting the Mermaid Hotel & Club, Kalutara again. Thank you.
Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful experience . One of the best hotels not far from the city
Colombo. Our short stay was memorable, specifically thanks to all the hotel staff and facilities were provided.Manager Aruna who checked on us regularly . Dhinushika from the reception who did all she could to make our stay memorable. Anushka and Saman from the Spa who looked after us so well ,even advised and helped to heal my husband sprained ankle. Best wishes to the restaurants staff and the Nihal who kept our rooms spotless . Thank you all , we will definitely come again .

Amazing
We were two families who stayed here for one night on full board basis and the food was the highlight of this hotel. The Jetwing standard is one of its kind. All meals were buffet, the variety was wow and the taste was amazing.
