Fairfield by Marriott Goa Calangute

Our stay at Fairfield by Marriott Goa Calangute had both positives and a very disappointing experience.

The rooms were small but comfortable, the property was well maintained, and most of the staff we interacted with during our stay were courteous.

However, just before checking out, we discovered that our credit card had been charged multiple times without our authorization, resulting in duplicate charges for our stay. We immediately brought the issue to the attention of the hotel staff, and the Assistant Front Office Manager acknowledged that the additional charges were due to a "system glitch" and assured us that the excess amount would be refunded. While we appreciated the acknowledgement, we expected the issue to be resolved promptly.

Unfortunately, despite this assurance, there was no follow-up. Over the next several days, my repeated calls to the Assistant Front Office Manager went unanswered. Even after contacting the hotel reception multiple times and requesting that my call be transferred or that I receive a callback, I did not receive any response or update from the hotel.

Another concern was that the invoices issued to us contained incorrect room numbers, and the confirmation numbers on the invoices did not match our original booking confirmation emails. Naturally, this raised questions about how our reservation and payment details had been handled.

The issue was addressed only after I escalated the matter to Marriott Customer Care, who initiated an investigation. While the refund process has now been initiated, the experience of having unauthorized charges on a credit card, followed by a lack of communication from the hotel during such a serious issue, caused unnecessary stress and significantly affected our confidence.

While I appreciate Marriott Corporate for investigating and resolving the matter, I expected much better communication, accountability, and ownership from the hotel management, especially considering the seriousness of the issue.

I sincerely hope the hotel strengthens its billing controls and customer service processes so that no other guest has to go through a similar experience.

Well all was good . The bathroom needs to be more clean . It was fully cleaned after house cleaning

We visited for lunch buffet. Food was very delicious and service was excellent. Mr. Steven Understood our needs and fulfilled the same
