- Whispering Palms Beach Resort

Nestled between the Aguada foothills and the tiny hamlet of Candolim, this boutique resort is situated just 250 m from the sandy beach. By the beach, guests will find Candolim village, which has a modest selection of local stores and eateries. Panaji, the capital of Goa, is 15 km away and the nearby Baga, Calangute, Vagator and Anjuna beaches are easily accessible by car. The railway station is 20 km from the hotel and Goa International Airport is only 42 km away.
The poolside, brimming with colourful bougainvillea flowers, is the focal point of this friendly resort. It comprises a total of 106 rooms and facilities on offer to guests include a lobby area, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, a restaurant, and conference facilities. Guests may also take advantage of the room and laundry services and there is a bicycle hire station.
The hotel offers double and twin rooms with en suite bathrooms. The facilities include satellite TV, individually adjustable air conditioning, direct dial telephone and a fridge. Furthermore, all rooms feature either a balcony or a terrace.
The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool and guests can enjoy water polo, darts and board games, or go on an excursion or a bike ride. Guests can relax in the open air hot tub or with a massage treatment, and have a work-out in the gym. A wide-range of recreational and sports activities is on offer.
The poolside eatery offers a choice of light meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day. The main multi-cuisine patio restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a range of continental, Indian, Chinese and truly Goan cuisines. Crossroads serves exotic cocktails, and features soft background music. The Coffee Shop offers light meals and live music is played on the terrace most evenings, making dining al-fresco a truly delightful experience.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We booked this awful resort for a 3 week stay in Jan 26. This resort is appalling, rated as 4 star but 2 star at the very best, The whole place is very run down & in despertate need of a complete refurbishment
The rooms / suites are extremely bad and shabby, The windows have large gaps and are rotted and did not shut, you could easily get your fingers through the gaps, which allows mosquitoes into the room constantly, we resorted to packing towels around the window gaps. the blinds were all broken and would not close properly if at all, so let the sunlight through all day plus the large floodlights they have outside which are on at night to shine through into the room, we resorted to buying eye masks.
We asked for a quite suite (if you can call it a suite, it is only slightly bigger than a standard room) , when we initially booked and in their wisdom they said yes it was a very quite room but failed to tell us it backed onto a public park so we had large groups of local people playing cricket at all times of the day into late evening & packs of wild feral dogs barking all night long. We moved 3 times until we eventually were given another suite which was just as shabby & rundown as the others we had stayed in previously but was thankfully a bit quieter than the others.
in all the rooms we stayed in the bathrooms were awful with broken tiles everywhere & the showers hardly worked. You have to constantly chase up their cleaning staff to get your room cleaned, one day we went back to our so called suite to find the cleaner sitting on our bed watching indian tv, apart from him jumping up & making out to continue to clean the room we could not get the tv to retune back to films or other English speaking channels, we asked their maintenance people to come and sort it out at least 4 times but each time it just reverted back to the Indian channel the cleaner was watching so we just gave up & switched the tv off.
The food is totally awful, all there is is toast & eggs for any other nationality except for the Indian visitors who have 95% of the food choices on offer, the quality of food is very poor & the Chef's (if you can call them that), could not cook fried or scambled eggs to save their lives, always served up undercooked, luckily we only booked for board & breakfast, we met lots of people who had booked full board & they all complained how bad the quality of food & cooking was. The coffee machine was constantly breaking down & the toaster was at least 40 - 50 years old & did not work properly and was very dangerous to use
why you would anyone book for full board at this resort (with their over inflated prices) is a mystery considering 20 to 40 paces outside the entrance to this place there are at least 4 restaurants that serve excellent food with many more restaurants along the high road priced at a quarter of the cost you pay for at this dump of a resort.
The staff are rude, lazy & unhelpful especially on the reception, they have a sign up giving exchange rates but NEVER have any local money on hand to exchange.
The entertainment man is rude & just loves the sound of his own voice & constantly turns the music up extremely loud by the pool area where most people are trying to relax & read their books, he has an over inflated opinion of himself & his abilities.
At breakfast which starts at around 7.30am until around 10.30am there is a man who walks around playing a few bars very loudly & very badly on a violin, I heard many people who unfortunately had a room above or near the breakfast area saying they were woken up every day by this person on his violin, whoever thought this was a good idea to have this man walking round while people were trying to eat their breakfast playing his damn violin needs to be sacked !
All in all if you are going to take a hoilday in Goa, DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE, there are many other resorts / hotels / apartments in the Candolim area available at a quarter of the price you will have to pay to stay at this appalling dump of a resort. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !
The hotel was good the staff was very Friendly soecialy (ankush )and the food was sooo good
Amazing to stay hare. Good hostility,Amazing staff, neat and clean.
Excellent value for money Resort to stay with Family and Kids. The location is not very crowded nor isolated. There is a peaceful beach at walkable distance. Rooms are well maintained and practical. The balcony views, resort architecture, pool and dining area everything is mesmerising. Food is good and staff very friendly and cooperative. The Manager Mr. Praveen makes you feel at home. Highly recommend this property.
Only one issue is that there is only one common washroom near the reception only. There is no changing room, washroom or handwash area near the dining and pool area.
Good ambience cooperative staff
