The property is located on a beautiful beach which is the main positive point. The staff at the reception is very friendly and efficient. We got great information about the places to visit in the area which helped us a lot to plan our days...
For the rest, our room was quite small (the bathroom was very small), the TV was not working when we arrived (why give a room to a guest if the basic things have not been checked?). Very long waiting time at the restaurant (both a la carte and buffet). Good pools, the pool bar needs a refresh for sure. Overall a good stay, quite good for families but it is clearly understaffed and some staff members need training, probably the impact of covid (staff rotation). Not really good value for money if comparing with the neighboring Anantara.
Our second stay at the resort 10 years apart but still the same great experience. The hotel has a very nice location on the beach and has an older style flair to it. We enjoyed exceptional service from the reception who helped us several times during our stay to make it a memorable visit...
The gardens and beach are well maintained. Traveling as a family, the evening F&B options were on the expensive side so we preferred to discover dining options in town (around 10-15 minutes drive).
The positives were the free airport shuttle service, location, front desk staff, the food on the half board package (all buffets but decent ones) & the beach massages (Lucky was very good)
The hotel is old & tired, however, the room furniture needs a revamp. Drinks are very expensive & inconsistently priced. The waiting staff while friendly are often poorly trained & don’t know answers to simple questions...
OMR8 for the tiny pitch & putt was way overpriced, so we didn’t play
As committed IHG members, we probably would stay again but the Anantara Resort next door looked much nicer
Finally, we used Isaa as a local guide & he was very good collecting from the hotel. His WhatsApp is +968 9967 9933
Crowne Salalah was a well kept beach hotel in Oman. The staff was wonderful, friendly and hospitable. Due to Ramadan there were few extra restrictions and some of restaurants were closed...
The rooms and premises were beautiful and clean and food was very good. I recommend this hotel warmly.
I would agree with other reviewers that the facilities are a bit dated but they were spotless and the staff was excellent. Go downtown for great food, although the resort food was very good if overpriced.
