I had to go next door to write this review…

Review by tillzclark Hastings, United Kingdom

My dad and I had arrived really early in the morning (around 4-5am) and there was a mix up with the booking so we were put into a disabled room and had to change rooms later on that day. My dad told them not too early so we settled on 3pm. We ended up with a phone call at 11am (keep in mind we are exhausted from travelling) asking us where we were and that we needed to change rooms...

Around an hour later, the cleaner started knocking. My dad, nor I answered the door and he just kept knocking. He must have knocked around 70-80 odd times before my dad finally shouted ‘f-off’ at the cleaner. Not in a horrible way just a why would you carry on knocking if there wasn’t an answer???? When we had finally switched rooms, all was going well until we discovered the wifi… It always has 2 or 3 bars but is absolutely terrible! Because of this issue, neither myself or my dad have been able to get anything important done. The wifi is so terrible that in the evenings, my dad and I go to B-Town (a bar in the hotel next door) after dinner and use their wifi and excellent staff service to actually do anything. Issues me and my dad have had with staff is that hardly any of them speak fluent English and communication is a huge struggle. Things in the vending machines around the lot are too far back to buy anything. If you do purchase something, you will often have to shake the machine or get a member of staff to retrieve the item for you. Breakfast and Dinner. Dinner is fine apart from the food options which aren’t very good for a child or a ‘fussy eater’ everything is very spicy, including the bread which I do not understand???? Me and my dad do not eat breakfast at the resort as it’s like feeding time at a zoo!!!! You can be queuing for half an hour for a piece of omelette and someone will push in front and take the last piece. There literally is NO queue line whatsoever as people just push in as they please for food whereas at dinner it is much more controlled as there’s a LOT less people. At breakfast, they have to open the restaurant in the next room for extra seating as 1 person will often take up a table for 4, 6 or even 8. The mattresses are horrific and have given my dad a bad back and me two bad shoulders. Room service food is TERRIBLE!!!! My dad ordered a CURRY and every tiny piece of chicken was on the bone???? I ordered a CRISPY CHICKEN BURGER and it came as a flat piece of chicken that according to my dad, “looked like Peppa Pig’s toenail.” This hotel really is not recommended for just over a 2-week stay with children as most of the men perverd over me, an 11-year-old, who was always in shorts, t-shirts and dresses. There are many prostitute cards outside with their personal numbers on. There are also prostitutes outside the hotel and waiting for men inside the lobby. Me and my dad have both said that we would never come to this hotel again even if it’s the only thing we could afford. We can both see why it’s so cheap per night. We were told that with our new room we’d have a great view of downtown Dubai so I have attached a photo of our view and our room service meals. Terrible hotel👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Review by Antony J Chennai (Madras), India

I have been staying at City Max Bur Dubai from 2013. It never disappoints me in any ways. Be it your check in / check out which is always swift...

Breakfast at the restaurant has Indian choice always. Home keep is really good and the house keep staffs are very courteous. Most importantly location of this hotel is very good which makes me to stay here again and again. In last 3 months I have stayed here 3 times. No complaints at all

Shocked moment

Everything was nice specially the front office staff Li was very helpful and was amazing in her work. Not happy with security guy standing there ,the way he react was unprofessional which make me to think about the confidential information of the guest. Am regularly coming to hotel but this is the second time i got dissatisfied/disappointed with the service.
