Fabulous stay at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai excellent happy staff throughout the hotel with special mention to our fantastic waiter Farwij and the wonderful women in Peacock Alley for afternoon tea lead by Mahima pramila varietal Thant and ZANU nothing was too much trouble.
We return to this hotel every year for many reasons, but the stand out reason is the exceptional service provided by exceptional staff. We were greeted on our arrival in the middle of the night with smiles and efficiency. No fuss just quick and easy. Tasha and Evelyn from guest relations/lounge had worked behind the scenes to make our 12 night stay personalised and extra special. Although there were adjustments to the hotels offer, they were all explained to us, and didn’t detract from our wonderful holiday. The ladies in Peacock Alley , Merima, Parmila, Carissa, Thant and Zanu and the barmen, made us feel like celebrities. Our afternoon tea was perfect and the pianist made the mood feel magical. We loved seeing you each day. For breakfast, because the pearl lounge was not open, we went to Mezzarie, again everyone worked so hard, special thanks to Issaaki, Kathe, Laxmi, Gayan, Grace, the supervisors for looking after us. The pool area, we love our special place! Aziz and Sagar knew we were arriving and had arranged our beds , endless and tireless service from Bojar, smiles from Sassi , taimur and all the other staff, make each day chilled. The adult pool was just perfect at the weekends to avoid the crowds. We ate at Ju, Sunil our waiter guided us through the delicious menu, we ate at Social twice, amazing food, friendly service from wahib, narwaz and faith. I recommend the Tomahawk steak and the cannoli’s are delicious. Too much choice!! All the staff work so hard to make our holiday run smoothly. Additional mentions to Shon, we discussed all things scone and cake, Nadeem, Tameer, Simon and of course Pabit at the main entrance, Palm avenue servers, Alem, Rosalie, Kishore for being so attentive. The hotel keeps bringing us back . We feel at home, we love the facilities and we love the warm welcome . Last mention to Rajan, thank you for our housekeeping and replacing my mint tea each day and especially the pillow menu!! Thank you , I returned to work refreshed and energised!!
This hotel is wonderful with too many staff worthy of mention for their extra care and attention . At the pool though Laqnal did not stop working for a second always bringing fresh water cleaning round the pool helping and assisting anyone and everyone what a great staff member who goes above and beyond well done
My family and I stayed at the Waldorf for a week and it was a fantastic stay! We all had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the hotel.
We were given a room with a beautiful sea view (thanks to Habib, who also made the check-in process incredibly smooth!). The restaurant, gym, spa, pool, beach, and other facilities were all fantastic.
The staff throughout the Waldorf were fantastic. In particular, Santhul - one of the managers in the restaurant - was incredibly friendly and an absolute credit to the Waldorf - an all round great person!
Thet, Chef Asif, Melyvine, Ankar, Sujan, Angelica and Asitha were all great too. We also had a wonderful experience with Rahayu in the spa who provided excellent treatment.
Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable!
This was our 3rd stay at Waldorf Astoria The Palm, and we keep coming back because of the wonderful experience we have always had with the Pearl Club Lounge. Unfortunately, this visit was quite different, and we were disappointed with the changes to the lounge setup. The Club lounge is closed. Afternoon tea and evening canapés were moved to Peacock Alley. Breakfast was done in the main restaurant, together with all the guests.
While we truly appreciate the efforts of all the staff to accommodate our needs, the current setup simply does not seem to be working. The relaxing atmosphere, privacy, and personalized service that we used to enjoy in the Pearl Club Lounge were missing this time.
During afternoon tea and evening canapés, the food often took a very long time to be delivered to our table. By the time we wanted to request another round, there was no time left, as the staff were already very busy attending to the other guests, including the regular diners at Peacock Alley. As a result, we were unable to enjoy the experience at the relaxed pace we were used to.
On one afternoon, we were also not given a large table right away even though we were a family of four. We were told that the larger tables were reserved for regular Peacock Alley customers. We therefore had to wait for a larger table to become available before we could place our order, which resulted in even more waiting time before our food was served.
Breakfast at the main restaurant was another disappointment. The experience felt more like being in a cafeteria rather than a five-star hotel. While there was a separate area for Diamond members, we wondered why guests who are specifically paying for the privacy and exclusivity of Club access were not given a dedicated area as well.
One of the things we particularly enjoyed during our previous stays was being able to order pancakes, waffles, and similar items for our children at the Club Lounge, beautifully plated and served to them. This time, the children barely ate their breakfast because the pancakes were served very plainly with only maple syrup, which I eventually had to prepare for them myself. The food selection also seemed much more limited. Even basic fruits such as bananas were no longer available.
That said, we would like to acknowledge the excellent service of Ms. Eluna from Reception. Our initial Pearl Suite was noticeably smaller than the room we had during our previous stays, and the powder room was particularly cramped. The lavatory was positioned so closely that it was actually hitting my knees when I tried to sit down. I therefore requested a room transfer, and Ms. Eluna was very kind and helpful in finding us a larger room. We truly appreciate her effort.
Housekeeping has also remained consistently good. Our room was cleaned well throughout our stay, and this is one aspect of the experience that continues to meet our expectations.
We understand that the recent crisis has affected the hospitality industry in general, and we appreciate that operating circumstances may be challenging. However, Waldorf Astoria The Palm is fortunate to have strong demand and high occupancy, particularly during the summer season. We hope management can take this opportunity to revisit the current Club Lounge setup and restore some of the privacy, exclusivity, and personalized service that made the Pearl Club experience so special for returning guests like us.
We still look forward to returning to Waldorf Astoria The Palm, as it remains one of our favorite hotels. However, for our next visit, we may choose to wait until the Pearl Club Lounge experience and setup return closer to what we have enjoyed during our previous stays.
