AMAZING SERVICE FROM GERMAN!!

Review by vyanna Milton, Canada

German was absolutely amazing! He was constantly asking us if we need more drinks, food and assuring us to take our time. It was so nice to be able to have someone make us feel as comfortable as German made us. We got our food so quickly and our drinks were always full...

I highly recommend coming to eat at Ayami Restaurant and we cant wait to come back!

TRUST MY REVIEW OF THIS HOTEL!!!

I'm not even sure where to begin....So lets start at arrival/check in. we arrived at the hotel (myself, wife and two kids under 8 years of age)...We were greeted by a gentleman who's name i forgot and i feel terrible because he was a great personality, walked us to front desk, assured us that he's always around if we ever need anything. Check in was seamless and we were told to wait till 3pm for our room, we arrived at 11am so we decided to grab a bite and talk a walk around the hotel...

a storm hit around 130pm and we went back to see if our room was ready and they gave us a room. THAT WAS THE BEST PART OF THIS HOTEL. The room (altitude tower upgrade) was small but NEW and comfy beds, decent view and big shower. the beach was GROSS! so much algae that you would rather look at the beach over swimming in it. no efforts were made to clean the algae at all while the HYATT Ziva right next door had staff cleaning all day and they did a great job. The restaurants were absolutely ridiculous with their masking policies. EVERYONE has to wear a mask or you're not allowed to enter, 150ppl eating in the restaurant but you had to wear it to enter and go get your food from the buffet. it was super obvious that people found that to be very odd as whats the point of wearing a mask if 150ppl are sitting together eating side by side. the bars were mediocre at best, I am a generous tipper and it was obvious that if you are not tipping, you're back of the line. I know this because i tested the bartender at one point by asking for 2 drinks, he served me and I intentionally didn't tip him to see his reaction, i then ordered a 3rd drink right after recieving the first two and he never made it for me, even after standing there for 10min. the A la carte dinners were Italian, Steak and Hibachi. We went to Hibachi first and our reservation was 8;40pm, they didnt start cooking till 940pm and the food was JUST OK, servers were very nice and attentive. Italian was terrible, no taste whatsoever and we had pasta, pizza and chicken parm, the server Arturo was a great personality and had us laughing. we didnt get a chance to try the steakhouse so we tried Hibachi a second time and it was better for timing, food was a bit better and timing was good. the buffet for breakfast my 5 year old son found a long hair in his food and i found a piece of paper towel in my omelette, which i was told by my wife was what they used to clean the grill. choices in buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner were 6/10 at best....again the servers were attentive. last but not least, was the last day at reception which i promised them i would write this review. I had a terrible time at this hotel and even though it was all inclusive, we ate the majority of our meals outside the hotel, we even contemplated leaving the hotel on the 4-5-6 & 7th day and go somewhere else. i let reception know this in a nice way. Ive never complained about anywhere i've stayed but this one deserved the review after the way they treated me on the last day at check out. I told them we were done our trip and headed to the airport, They asked me for my wristband and i told them i ripped it off and threw it in the garbage. they then asked me for $200 for penalty of not having the wristbands. Now I cant explain to you how that triggered me. I told them "I'm leaving the hotel to go home and i've expressed how unhappy i was at your hotel all week and instead of apologizing for me being upset, you're trying to charge me $200 for not having my wristbands???'....so the lady said if you don't pay we will call security...so i told them i'm leaving and you can call security/the police if you feel like it, nobody is stopping me......THEY ACTUALLY CALLED SECURITY ON ME!!!! I started laughing my ass off asking security exactly what are you going to do to stop me from leaving hahahahahaha....they just stood there with a dumb look on their face. I easily left and nobody could do anything about it.....Long story short is DO NOT stay at this hotel!! it is the worst for food, customer service and if you don't upgrade your room, you'll hate that too! by far the worst hotel i've ever stayed at in my life and i've stayed at Ritz Carlton 5* right down to 2* hotels in Negril, Dom Rep and Cuba. NOTHING was as bad as this hotel. like i said the best thing about this hotel was the servers in buffet and restaurants, they actually care to do their job. the rest just do it for their paycheque and have no customer service values. if you want recomendations i would say HYATT ziva, JW Marriott, Ritz Carlton, Royalton, RIU, Grand Fiesta.....Don't cheap out on this hotel, its HORRIBLE. TRUST ME!

Great location, Stunning beach

Review by 55melanied Dartmouth, Canada

Amazing vacation, hotel is in a supreme convenient location, walking distance to the main strip in Cancun, close to airport. The beach is stunning. Absolutely perfect, white sand, long, clean, and a bit unique as it’s at the end of a point...

This seemed to prevent bad weather and seaweed from making its way to us. Perfection. The service on the beach is impeccable, cold drinks and good food all day, specifically Luis and Genlin for their top notch service at the beach and pool! There’s a great lounge bar with the best servers Carlos and Mario that plays music every evening. Was the perfect spot every evening for some fun. The Grill restaurant was delicious and our server Miguel was so professional and knowledgeable. You can book daily at the a la cartes. Loved this option! The buffet was ok, we only had breakfast there, it was everything you needed to start the day. The Take a Bite Deli is awesome, delicious morning cappuccinos and afternoon coffees with some sweet treats to go. Ruben and Alejandro were the most excellent baristas with friendly service each and every time. There was one person who went above and beyond with friendly helpful service, and his name is Fernando. He sells time shares( we didn’t buy or even consider) , but he really is a first face at entering the hotel and he was the most helpful friendly and kind staff we encountered. Huge thanks to him for just being awesome!! The layout of the hotel is easy, easy to find your way around, cant get lost. The one and only downfall is the rooms. They’re a bit dated, but especially the beds. They could use a new softer upgrade. Otherwise, I loved it there and wouldn’t hesitate to return!

I wanted to share my experience at this hotel. Having lived and worked in Cancun for many years I decided to book this hotel as I know they have a wonderful location and close to everything in the Cancun hotel zone. Beach and weather were great, food and drinks were superb , I booked the all inclusive option and the ocensview rooms were amazing. Special kudos for Antonio the Bellboy and Valeria the concierge for providing superior customer service at all times. Will recommend this hotel for wveryone.

Another GREAT week in PARADISE

Review by Douglass W Voorhees, New Jersey

So after spending a tremendous week at the GRAND OASIS PYRAMID in March, we decided to return in June to celebrate MY BIG BIRTHDAY!!! Well, let me tell you this, most of the hotel staff was informed and I was overwhelmed with WELL WISHES!!! The entire hotel was bustling… approximately 86 % occupancy and still everything took place like a well-oiled machine!! There were shows, live music nightly and a myriad of activities for all age groups. At the pool on day 2, I ran into a family of four… 2 young children and their parents; I noted that their bracelets were blue and thus they were limited to certain restaurants only…so I walked them to several of our favorites ( requiring a black band or gold )….and they were so impressed that they upgraded and vowed upon return to just book into the pyramid from which you’re entitled to EVERYTHING!!! So again on my birthday night, we elected to dine at CAREYES…an elegant restaurant with excellent foods and wines… the maitre D there is HECTOR….he goes out of his way to insure all is perfect….so after dinner, a group of waiters, Hector and his assistant, approached our table with birthday cake and a thin candle…the candle was illuminated, everyone sang to me and I proceeded to blow out the candle…. I COULD NOT… it kept re-lighting…...

after 3 or 4 attempts… it extinguished!!! That night was quite memorable….So, the hotel Director…Ricardo de la Paz runs a “tight ship.” His sub- director… CARLOS CEPEDA….physically is at the hotel 6-7 days per week…works long hours but he GETS THINGS DONE !!! I have the utmost respect for the individuals I’ve named… they literally GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP and are respected by the hotel staff and guests !!! So now, after this ULTRA FINE week, we are home in the Philadelphia area and are planning on returning to the GRAND OASIS PYRAMID in early to mid August!!! Thank you GRAND OASIS , management, employees and friends…. SEE YOU IN CANCUN!!! Capitan Doug Wells
