Now Emerald Cancun

We have stayed at many Secrets properties over the years, and Secrets Mirabel truly stood out. The resort is beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the service may be some of the best overall service we have ever experienced. What made this trip especially memorable, though, were the people. So many team members genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay special.

From the beginning, Alfonzo, our butler, was spectacular. He was incredibly attentive and did everything he could to make sure we had an amazing stay. He anticipated what we needed, checked in regularly, and made us feel completely taken care of.

The UVC team at Mirabel was equally impressive. We have known Ernesto for a very long time, and he continues to go the extra mile every time we see him.

And then there is Romina. She was simply exceptional. She knew there was no opportunity to upsell us and still did an incredible amount to help us throughout our stay. I know she was extremely busy, but you would never have known it. She was responsive, gracious, and genuinely committed to making sure we were taken care of. She even helped me correct a mistake I had made with a booking at another hotel! Romina is a huge part of the reason we are already looking forward to returning.

We also had the opportunity to meet Pedro Garcia, who took time to speak with us about an upcoming group trip we are planning at Mirabel. We were extremely impressed by his attention to detail and his focus on service, food quality, and making sure our group has an incredible experience. That conversation gave us even more confidence in bringing everyone back.

And the food! This was easily some of the best food we have experienced at a Secrets resort.

I have celiac disease, and the restaurants consistently went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Isidro at Market Café was outstanding. He took my dietary needs seriously, helped me navigate my options, and went out of his way to make sure I had what I needed. I was also incredibly impressed with the breakfast selection and the gluten-free bread options. I would love to see even more gluten-free options available throughout the day because the quality was excellent.

Bordeaux was amazing. On our first night, they prepared an off-menu salmon for me that may honestly be the best salmon I have ever had. Chef Angel even came out to speak with me personally. We visited Bordeaux twice, and both the food and service were outstanding.

I normally don’t make El Patio a priority when staying at Secrets, but I am SO glad we went this time. Yuniel was amazing. He clearly loves what he does, and it shows. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much about how the restaurant prepares its food and the pride the team takes in it. That kind of enthusiasm completely changes a dining experience. He deserves recognition — and a promotion! The female manager at El Patio was also wonderful, although unfortunately I did not get her name.

We dined at Bluewater twice, and both experiences were excellent. The views are beautiful, and the food and service were outstanding.

At Himitsu, Jorge was extremely helpful with my dietary restrictions, and Javier (“Scooby”) made hibachi so much fun. He was incredibly entertaining and made the entire experience memorable.

There were so many other people who made an impression on us.

Saulo and Jose, the Preferred Club bartenders, took wonderful care of us.

Irving and Abraham, the Preferred Club pool concierges, went above and beyond every single day — and always with a smile.

Antonello, our server at the Preferred Club pool, had an attitude and energy that we absolutely loved.

Oscar, the Preferred Club manager, took time to meet with us and clearly cares deeply about quality and the guest experience.

Catherine, the hostess at Olio, was always smiling and somehow remembered both our names and room number. Those little personal touches make such a difference.

Kalito had such a wonderful attitude. Santiago was awesome, and Ari from the entertainment team works incredibly hard and brings so much energy.

Even the fitness center experience stood out. I unfortunately didn’t get the name of the woman who greeted us there, but she was there almost every day, always smiling, and remembered us by our second day. The gym itself is also very well equipped.

And the spa is stunning. The hydrotherapy experience, views, and overall setup are above and beyond. We can’t wait to experience it again.

Perhaps the biggest compliment we can give Secrets Mirabel is this: we’re coming back in March with more than 30 of our friends and family to celebrate my husband Keith’s birthday.

Bringing a group that size somewhere for such a special occasion is a big decision. After this stay, we feel incredibly confident choosing Mirabel. The service, food, attention to detail, and most importantly, the people made the decision easy.

We also met some amazing people during this trip, which made the experience even more special.

What impressed us most was the consistency of the service. So many people seemed genuinely invested in making sure guests were happy. The combination of exceptional service, outstanding food, attention to dietary restrictions, and people who clearly take pride in what they do made this one of our most memorable Secrets stays.

I can't say enough positive things about this resort. The food, the staff, the amenities were all top notch. Every single staff member was friendly and accommodating. There are a few that stand out though. Here is my list of the top staff members from my experience: David (waiter in the steakhouse), From the Coco Cafe, Gabriela was wonderful! The sky bar waitress, Jacqueline, even while super busy always made us feel special. From the preferred pool swim up bar, Jose and Saulo, were fast, friendly and made great drinks. As with any place, there is one person who stands out above the rest. He works at the preffered infinity pool, setting up guests with chairs and towels. His name is Abraham. Every day he would greet me by name, and genuinely be happy to see me. The energy and positivity he brings to the day is infectious. He continually checked in on us throughout the day. I can't say enough good things about this young man. He was just wonderful.

Overall, we are very happy with this resort and plan on returning.
