This resort was really nice! I was in room 251 building 2, 5th floor with a great view of the ocean and pool. Room was clean with all the amenities you would want in a studio apartment setting. The bed was soft and comfortable. The spa tub was awesome, the water was hot, filled up quickly. It was perfect for soaking after a day of walking. The pool temperature was perfect. The beach was perfect. My only complaint was the food. Its not an all inclusive dining but you get a 50$ credit each day and most dinners were more than 50$. Food taste wasn't to my liking, I didn't even enjoy the breakfast. I didn't partake in any resort activities so I can't comment on that. I found the halls were quiet and clear. The staff were all nice. The location was perfect, you can walk across the street to the mall. Easy to take the bus to downtown area.
The location is nice. The beach is beautiful But it is WAY OVERPRICED! There are hidden fees. It's a cashless resort so they make you use your credit card but then they charge you taxes on it. They will ask you for your room number, so they can charge you an additional tax. When we checked out we had an additional $150 worth of taxes. The food is horrible. We got sick from it. Even the staff said that the food is not good. I am a timeshare owner and I will never go back there again.
Our family had an exceptional weeklong visit. Staff was fantastic. We ate at each of the restaurants on-site more than once and had great service and food. Can’t wait to go back!
We are members o Marriott BonVoy. We stayed at the Westin Lagunamar on August 24-26. As we are elderly, we asked for an easily accessible room with a great ocean view and a walk in shower. What we got was a room on the second floor with no view at all. See below. When we complained, they said they were booked, which seemed unlikely as there seemed to be very few people there and some of the restaurants were closed. The room we got should not have been rented to anyone!
Great location across from La Isla mall which offers a variety of restaurants. Having access to so many restaurants is a plus, especially since there are only a few options onsite, and the pool restaurant, Viento, closes before dinner. It would be great if they offered more casual dining options for dinner.
The resort is on a great stretch of beach, although depending on the time of year, there can be sargassum.
The property is very well maintained. There are two giant pools, a waterslide, and four large hottubs. They have miniature golf and tennis courts, along with a nice gym. There are several grills throughout the property you can use to bbq, along with many tables and chairs, so you can enjoy a nice sunset dinner.
Staff is very friendly and attentive.
The rooms are large and have all the amenities you need including a washer and dryer, even in the studio units. The beds are very comfortable and luxurious.
Overall, a very comfortable place to stay in a great location!
