We enjoyed our week long stay at Secrets Maroma Beach. We liked the premises, food, bars and entertainment. Special thanks to Francia Torres, the concierge of 24th building, who kept us informed on all activities and everything in the hotel. She was extremely helpful and we are very grateful to her!
Everyone who worked there was wonderful. From our concierge to all the waiters, the staff was phenomenal and that makes such a difference.
We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Aldo Pulido, Lourdes Gaspar, and Francia Torres went above and beyond to make sure that my wife, who has some health issues, especially with food, was able to enjoy, relax, and have great memories of this vacation for many years to come. Also worth mentioning are sous-chef Juan Mora, who prepared amazing and delicious plates and made sure my wife was able to eat without trouble and enjoy the food in every restaurant we visited; Carlos at the buffet; Gabriela at the Oceana restaurant; Eduardo at the Preferred Club, Hugo and Luis at the cabana, and all the wait staff.
Wonderful place to stay! Staff is phenomenal in every aspect of the hotel. Food is fabulous and the variety is amazing. The spa treatment is top notch as well. Highly recommend this resort. It’s beautiful!
Beautiful resort with wonderful staff. We knew the construction would be in full swing but honestly underestimated it's impact. There is a giant construction zone in the heart on the hotel grounds that was quite the blatant but was unnoticeable when sitting at the pools facing the ocean. Food was average at best. Breakfast was the best and we preferred the World Market buffet over the PC option. We tried the buffet, PC restaurant, Seaside Grill, Pizza by the pool for lunch. They were just ok . The barefoot Grill was terrible. They threw precooked burgers and hot dogs on the grill for a minute to reheat and the guy looked miserable every day. I just gave him back the plates and grabbed pizza instead (which was pretty good). every day had pop up food by the gazebo but nothing stood out and most things where just ok. Same for the dinners with the exception of Hibachi which was great and the meat portion of dinner at Seaside Grill (sides where not good). Desserts at this resort are typical cafeteria style (except the French chocolate souffle at Bordeux which was fantastic). Poolside drinks all tasted the same or where flavorless.
The resort lobby is underwhelming but the ground are beautiful and once the construction is complete, I'm sure they will be spectacular. Most of the service was top notch - friendly, polite, helpful and our concierge, Guillermo, in building 17 was incredible.
We've visited quite a few resorts in Cancun. Most food is average, just ok. I thought Ziva Cancun had better dinners, Live aqua's MB was very good as well and Moon Palace Cancun had the best room service food. Xcaret's Asian restaurant stands out as well. We thought the breakfast at Maroma's buffet was pretty good. I have noticed a lot less variety at adults only resorts vs family resorts. Hopefully that changes in the future.
