Wonderful time at the Royal Haciendas

Stayed in a beautiful spacious suite for a week, and paid for the all inclusive meals - totally worth it! Enjoyed great meals at the various restaurants, spectacular views, friendly staff. Has something for everyone in your family! Enjoyed mornings walking the beach or water aerobics, afternoons playing Mexican Bingo with Jojo or Sol Grill with Aaron. Japanese dinner at Kinoko with Genaro...

Want to come back again and bring the kids!

Hotel review

After a 7 day stay my final review rated our stay 5 stars. From the time we arrived to the time we left the staff was great and very helpful. Each day our beach front room was cleaned by Briseyda Lopez and she did a great job each time...

After some persuading we were able to make reservations at the Kinoko and Los Mureles restaurant both had great food and service. Kinoko can be formal or casual and Los Murrales is more formal. Food portions are on the smaller side at Los Murales but elegant and very tasty! I would rate both of them at 5 stars each. Rooms are very clean and roomy enough for a family of 4 to 5 with plenty of storage for all your baggage and clothing. Showers are roomy enough for anyone with a disability or a wheel chair. Our beach front room is like a small condo with a full size fridge, dishwasher, stove and oven, microwave and a kitchen sink. The seaweed at this time of the year is still and issue but the hotel does what they can to clean up daily. After my 1st review of this hotel I would come back for another vacation.

Spectacular Resort

Might be a bit biased because I am an owner. The RH is awesome. The grounds are pristine, the gardening staff take pride in their work and it shows...

The resort staff are super friendly and attentive. The Happy Hour is not to be missed. The restaurants are excellent and there are activities every day and night. Can’t forget Dive Balam. If you are not a diver then take a class and learn. Love that it is a little bit away from town, so there is not so many people going through the property.

Great Vacation!

I just love this resort and I'm proud to be an owner there. I had a great time spending the week here. As usual, the grounds are beautifully maintained and just gorgeous...

The pools are spectacular with the awesome swim up pool bars. My room was very nice, my favorite of all the Mexico Royal Resorts. The resort is still understaffed, as they are trying very hard to rehire many of the employees that were let go during cover. They are still maintaining their high standards and the staff did not disappoint. They were working so hard during our stay. Some of the employees that made my trip the best was Maria at the front desk (she is just wonderful!), Lou - our concierge, was the best!! Oscar and Diego, and Jesus - the bartenders - the best!! I can't wait until I return!! In addition, the cleaning and sanitizing protocols were excellent!

What happened…?

I was an avid fan of Royal Haciendas. It used to feel Like Home. We have been coming here for years...

We chose this Resort before, and during the Pandemic, supported it by coming here 4x within the last 12 months even though we are not “members.” Wrote reviews about it like i would promote a place great for rest, retreat, and rejuvenation. Made friends with the staff who used to be there. We came back there this June— Sadly only a few familiar staff faces we’ve seen. The place is buzzing with guests which is good for them. The issues we have:

  1. very delayed services with food. Waited 2O minutes before waiter came to take our order at Luna (even when we sat down 5 min to opening time). Waiters are running around hustling to care for food services around the pools and the ones sitting on the dining areas. Palapa buffet is only open for dinner— we walked out after we waited 45 min for dessert. Guests line up for buffet— something i did not see before. Room service: waited for 2 hours 15 min. We were told “it’s a busy day.” Oatmeal, cold, watery. Not enough staff, not enough breakfast options. 2) Guest/s hogs the pool chairs by putting towels on them at 5 am. No control and this only benefits a few. The ones who actually wake up and wants to use the pool/chairs have no space. The ones who hogs the chairs are not even around. Very inconsiderate. 3) some guests were rowdy and drunk at the pool, cursing/swearing out loud, making obscene gestures and there were kids around. This is something we have never ever seen at the Royal Haciendas before. No Management around for ?crowd control the way it used to before. Service is generic. Not as warm, and hospitable the way it was even from 6 months ago. Santiago, and Ivan (bell Boy service), Valentin (reception) were the only ones worth mentioning, and the housekeeper who tended to our room and made awesome birthday towel & balloons (thank you!)
  2. Bedding: stiff bed at a deluxe village room. Room F138 B: Blankets are somewhat stiff and rough. Room temperature does not stay cool somehow. It gets cool when AC blows then it just feels humid even as we keep the patio door closed. (We actually paid for a deluxe jr suite but we wanted to be near the pool and dining areas). 5) we were asked why we make our own dining reservation instead of going through the Concierge. Our Concierge did not offer this service nor have we seen her around after we politely declined going for Membership meeting. As far as Covid test is concerned, we just made ourselves informed and we emailed the royals and the lab directly prior to our stay to get our test timely. A few times we ask staff members at front desk for minor questions, and it became annoying when their first response is “are you a member..?” This again is one thing we have never experienced before. This feeling of discrimination and alienation one may get from other hotels, this “generic” approaches and service have now, sadly infected this place we used to call Home.
