We had such a wonderful week spending time with our family at this beautiful property. ❤️
We are longtime guests and had the pleasure of visiting the resort under its previous brand, so it was especially meaningful to return and see that some of the amazing team members are still here. Their warm welcome made our stay even more special.
From the moment we arrived, Carlos and Hector at reception made us feel right at home. And a huge thank you to Cintia for her incredible attention and for always checking in on us throughout our stay.
The service from the restaurant team was exceptional. So many of the wonderful waiters easily become friends because of how genuinely kind and attentive they are. A special thank you to Emilio, Dimitri, Sebastian, Hebert, Eduardo, Cesar, Mario, Carlos, and Armando—you guys are amazing!
And, of course, we cannot forget Pati, the chef, for the perfect omelets every morning! 🍳❤️
Finally, a big thank you to Judith for keeping our room fresh, spotless, and welcoming every day.
It was truly a pleasure being back and spending such a special week with our family. Thank you ALL for making our stay so memorable.

Excellent Relaxing Vacation
My stay at Margaritaville Cancun, family friendly hotel was amazing. This was my second time coming to this hotel and I have to say this second visit here was even better than the first. This resort truly feels like a second home. I traveled here from August 4- August 11, 2026 and we are Prestige Members. I traveled with my family (2 adults and 2 kids). This is a small resort which is what we love about it because every staff member knows you by name and truly treat you like family. There are many staff members I would like to give a special shout out to because they made our stay here extra magical.
First, I would like to give a special thanks to Alberto our Butler, he went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. He made our reservations at the restaurants, checked up on us all the time to see if we needed anything from towels, room service, room temperature, housekeeping, etc... He was amazing and I just cannot say enough great things about him because he truly took care of every single one of our concerns and now we see him as family! We hope to see you next year Alberto!
Second, the staff at the restaurants are just amazing, special shout out to Chef Rodrigo he was just amazing at accommodating some of our special food requests during our stay. He would also always come out and greets us during dinner to ask us how our dinner was. The waiters at all the restaurants are also all really friendly (Luis, Eric, Aurelio, Jorge, Emilio, and can't remember the others) but they were all great and always attentive to all of our needs. The bartenders at all of the bars (Ricardo, Gilberto, Jose Luis) were also great, they had our next drink ready when they saw we were finishing up our drink, just amazing! Also, we missed Manuel from Compass Bar, he was on vacation when we were there and we definitely missed his vibe at the Compass bar.
The lady at the Blended bar, I believe her name is Angela, is always so nice and makes the best smoothies and Tania at the Kids Club is always so good with the kids and she always has plenty of activities for the kids.
Lastly, I want to say that this year the beach at the resort was so nice, there were only a couple of days when a storm had hit over night that the water was murky, however, the rest of the days the beach was just beautiful. The egg taco, the Monterrey taco and the Baja Taco at Rita's is a must and you have do to the Mexican Fiesta on Saturday Night at the Beach house. The resort is very clean and the rooms were clean and spacious. The location is perfect, about 15-20 minutes from the Cancun Airport!
Overall, my family and I had an amazing time at Margaritaville Cancun. If you like quiet, laid back and relaxing vibe this is the place. Do not expect night life or many activities here, this is more for a super relaxed vacation.

Turned a disaster into the best part of our trip
We arrived at Margaritaville Island Reserve after a genuinely awful start to our holiday — our original hotel had cancelled our booking on arrival, and we'd spent hours scrambling to find somewhere, anywhere, that could take a family of four at short notice. Margaritaville not only had a room, but the whole experience from check-in onwards completely turned our trip around. The resort itself is beautiful. The grounds and facilities are clearly well maintained, and there's a relaxed, genuinely enjoyable atmosphere throughout the property — it doesn't feel like a place that's coasting on reputation, it feels cared for. But what actually made the difference for us was the staff. Every single person we dealt with, from check-in to the restaurants to housekeeping, was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome — not in a scripted, corporate way, but like they actually wanted our stay to go well. Given the state we arrived in, that mattered enormously. The food was high quality across the board, the accommodation was comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the facilities gave us everything we needed to actually relax for the rest of the week. Considering we booked this as an emergency fix in the early hours of the morning, it's remarkable how well it worked out. I'd confidently recommend Margaritaville Island Reserve to friends and family — not as a fallback option, but as a genuinely excellent resort in its own right.

Not awful but have been to several that were better.
Just finished a quick, 4 night stay at Margaritaville. Less than 2 years old, it was beautiful. The neighboring resort closed and is running down. Kind of an eyesore, but whatever. Smaller property but designed well in a U shape with plenty of pool time. Beach was washed away in a storm and is non-existent. Literally a wooden set of stairs that leads to the ocean with no beach.
Service was very high level in all phases. Possibly the best we’ve had in a couple dozen all-inclusives. Good quality was meh though compared to other places we’ve been. Breakfast was sold as they had the normal fare, plus an omelet station and a chilaquiles station as well. The Italian restaurant was very, very good, despite extremely small portions. The steakhouse was pretty rough. I’ve had some fantastic cuts of meat in Mexico. This was not the place for that. The pool bar’s food looked amazing, but was tasteless. Wings at Landshark were solid.
All in all a nice quick break from reality. Some really nice positives. A few drawbacks.
Pro: service! Appearance! Rooms overall.
