I would not recommend Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun Resort.
Our experience started off poorly at check-in. On our first day, the receptionist, Andrea, was unwelcoming. When I told her we had two rooms reserved, she simply told me to go back and wait in line again for the second room instead of helping us or explaining the process. She also did not provide us with any information about the resort, which made our arrival frustrating.
Another disappointment was that guests cannot get bottled water from the outside bars unless they are Diamond Club members.
For breakfast and lunch, the buffet was the only option available, except for the sports bar. There were no other restaurants open during those times.
Dinner reservations were required for all restaurants, and they were fully booked shortly after opening. The only available times were after 9:00 p.m., which meant we had to miss the evening shows.
The swimming pools were very nice, especially for kids, and this was the best part of our stay.
I booked two rooms for two families, but we were placed on different floors, which was inconvenient.
Overall, the service and dining experience were disappointing. I would not return to this resort, and I would not recommend it to others.

Visited Grazie, had Marcos B. - was wonderful. Chef Franco Erick made an amazing dessert. Awesome time!
Great hotel and service / maybe a bit too many guests
Travelled for 2 weeks as two 40+ adults with 9 year old and 4 month year old. We are from Manchester UK and have done a few similar all inclusive hotels before – Mexico, Cuba, Dominican, Greece, Turkey, Maldives, Mauritius etc. We did Diamond Club (DC) and Isaac & Danial were outstanding catering for our every need swiftly and diligently.
All staff were incredible some I can remember are restaurant - Manuela, pool – Jorge, Raul, Juan, Hugo, Luggage – Jesus, Entertainment Farid, lifeguards / slide guys – all very nice, friendly, professional.
Hotel facilities are very good we chose it mainly for mini water park – which actually is a little disappointing – 2 slides not working, some only suitable if you have 2 kids aged say 8 – 14 as it’s a double rubber ring. Some slides are fast and hurt your back as they are very bumpy so that king of limits the slides to maybe 2 – 5 slides depending on your ages. The lazy river in DC and the main one we really liked and used a lot. All the pools were great and having extra pool and bar options for DC were great esp for 14 days.
Also able to use Rio Restaurant for breakfast (Less busy) was a DC bonus.
The main buffet and Rio could be quite noisy eg plates and cutlery constantly banging as they are cleaned / moved plus the noise of a lot of guests.
Drinks and cocktails were very good and consistent – star man is Luis in lobby bar he is an artist and mixologist.
It’s a 1000 room hotel so 2000 – 2500 guests - our only mini gripe was that some guests lacked a bit of class I guess eg 2 or 3 had speakers and pumping music around the pool (which isn’t actually allowed) – the music wasn’t too bad but still. One teenager was eating a bowl of cereal in the lift one morning which was a bit weird (lol) and there were often a lot of plastic glasses left around the pool and lazy river esp towards the end of the days.
Most of the guests were really interesting, sociable and good to speak to, people from all over USA, Canada, Mexico, Columbia etc
We had a fantastic time 8/10 but would probably go to a smaller hotel next time and maybe a bit further away from Cancun.

Hibachi experience at Zen
The food at Zen was delicious our chef Arturo was great and the atmosphere was very fun.
