Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun Resort

As a group of 11 travelling to this hotel for the first time and many to Mexico for the first time, upon reading some of the reviews prior we were very apprehensive about our stay, however upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and from there it only got better. The food could not be faulted and found it to be the best out of other all inclusive hotels we have previously stayed, plenty of choice for everyone. The entertainment was very good. Juan and Sandy by the pool were excellent and very efficient and friendly. How anyone can work in that heat is beyond me (from Ireland so we don’t have that heat at any time of the year 😂). Also thank you to Pablo and Victoria from guest services who helped us book restaurants as a group, while some issues booking a group of this size experienced as notes left by guest services for the restaurants to seat us together sometimes the notes not read. My teenage son (17) also liked the sports bar for the football and pool table.

The only reason why I didn’t give a 5 is for the following: Check-in can be slow, but we were lucky as not many arrived at the same time. A shuttle bus a couple of times a week to 5th Avenue Playa Del Carmen / Cancun at a reduced price as the taxi prices ridiculous would be beneficial.
The beach also wasn’t great due to the time of the year with the seaweed but you cant really fault Mother Nature.

We will definitely return.

BUYER BEWARE!!! We have booked 5 rooms for Aug. 2026 and cannot get anyone from the hotel on the phone. We have been calling for three weeks to ensure that all adults listed for each room is on the reservation, but no one answers the phone!!! I’m extremely nervous about this trip and if this is an example of their customer service , it will likely be our last.
