Jungle paradise
We loved this resort!!! Not only are the grounds beautiful the staff was kind and they made you feel like you're on vacation. The added bonus was seeing so many animals everyday!! The closeness of the resort to so many of the other parks made it easy to enjoy outside activities. There was plenty of food options and several pools, the beach is perfect with no seaweed!! There's a gym and spa and tennis, pickle ball, basketball, something to always do. So peaceful, a piece of paradise.

Maricela and Ruby helped us prepare for a wedding event and did a beautiful job on our nails. They were kind and gentle. Would recommend coming by.
Beautiful resort
The resort is stunning. The experience of wildlife & landscape by itself makes this resort worth while. My personal option of the main restaurant buffet is that the food was lacking/repetitive and could have been better, but there was still always something to pick at the end of the day so nobody ever went hungry. The à la carte restaurants do offer a better variety but must be booked 48 hours in advance via front desk to get a space. A online system/app for booking the à la carte would have been better as a lot of other places now do that. Overall I would highly recommend this resort, my 8 year old was mesmerised by the wildlife and the grounds. (The monkeys, agoutis, coatis, deer, iguanas & snakes) Xcaret being next door gives it a great advantage to people visiting. Luckily unlimited access to Xcaret was part of my holiday packages, but this is not always guaranteed so I would double check before booking as it does cost a lot of bought separate. ($770 usd for 2 adults & 1 child) There were always sun loungers at all times of the day and the pools were never busy. Makes a lovely change to how a lot of European destinations like to put there towel down and leave it there for hours, there was none of that here so that was a major positive. Our 11 days at Occidental was amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone, especially families who are wildlife enthusiasts.
Beautiful place
Beautiful place in the middle of the jungle lots of monkeys, unfortunately this place is going down, this was about my 7 or 8 time here and food and drinks quality is deteriorating. The service is amazing, the rooms are very clean.
Great resort
This was our 4th visit to this resort and we absolutely love it. The staff worked so hard to make our stay special.
