- Prama Sanur Beach Bali

This hotel is located right on the sandy beach of Sanur, one of Bali's most popular areas. It is the perfect base from which to explore Bali, the famed Island of the Gods, known for its colourful and vibrant temple festivals, sun-drenched beaches, rolling surf and rustic villages. The hotel is surrounded by 70,000 m2 of tropical gardens with many mature trees and coconut palms. It also boasts a wide range of services and facilities, including various restaurants and bars, serving Italian, Indonesian, Asian and international dishes. Guests may enjoy a full-service spa and a fitness centre or spend their day relaxing on the beach or lounging in the pool. There is an special area for the little ones. The spacious rooms offer modern conveniences for guests comfort.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
At first, we were given a room that was far below the standard we had paid for, with a view directly onto a blank wall only about 2 metres from the balcony. We requested the room category we had actually booked and, after a very frustrating struggle, we finally managed to get it.
Unfortunately, the experience did not improve much. The cleaning was superficial, and the towels were old, worn out and of poor quality.
The breakfast was rather disappointing: a long queue for omelettes, stale pastries, just a few fruits and some cut vegetables which were almost gone 30 minutes before breakfast ended.
The beach was also very dirty, with too few sun loungers. The mattresses were wet, dirty and extremely worn out.
Calling this a 5-star hotel is, in our opinion, a joke. We paid a lot of money, but the services were very modest and far below what we expected from a 5-star property.
We do not recommend this hotel. Unfortunately, the price was high, while the quality of the services was disappointing.
First time staying here. Location: ok but is definitely on the quiet end of Sanur so bit of a walk to Main Street with all the restaurants and cafes however there is an electric bus that passes by the hotel every 20 mins. Instead of buying a ticket you can just slip the driver $1. There’s heaps of cheap warungs to eat at on the beach. Wouldn’t choose to stay this end of Sanur again Hotel: lots of middle aged people here who get up very early to put their towels on the sun loungers so getting a sun lounge is difficult as there aren’t enough. Also not enough shade umbrellas and the ones they do have aren’t very big so don’t give much shade. Hotel is beachfront with no road in between which is nice however can get windy. Wifi is sketchy especially next to the pool so I gave up and used my data roaming as was getting too frustrating Rooms: a little dated but still ok. Mattress is comfy and pillows are glorious, best I’ve experienced in Bali Breakfast: is disappointing especially after experiencing the breakfast at Legian Beach Resort which is superb Here I’d rate it a 5/10 though location of breakfast is nice overlooking the beach and pool Pool: the main adult pool in huge, deep and quite cold. Plus there is only one set of steps the rest are ladders. I’ve watched people struggle getting out using the ladders. Though there is a disability ramp. Have hardly gone in the pool because it’s too cold. Kids pool and play area is great for families with lots of fun things for the kids, would definitely recommend this hotel for families
Location and grounds: it's a massive property located right on Sanur promenade and beach with direct access to the beach. 5/5 here. The promenade here is well maintained and world class. And the hotel too, is well maintained.
Atmosphere: Almost daily live performances at the beach, the outdoor beach dinner atmosphere with the performances, the family friendly Bali relaxed experience can be seen here... 5/5 again..
Service: Excellent. Whether it's the prompt service levels, or the friendly staff at the kids activity center, reception, Bamboo bar n everywhere else, or the small gestures (like bed decoration n impromptu birthday cake for a 6 year old), it shows they know hospitality well... 5/5 ...
Amenities: 2 swimming pools, 5 restaurants and bars, kids play area, Hanoman garden etc... most amenities needed for a relaxed holiday are present...Not sure if there's a spa for regular guests though...
Rooms: it's a comparatively old property which is visible in the rooms. However, the rooms are big n well maintained. Think of the 5 star hotel rooms of the late 2000s - big balconies, good size but slightly dated fittings now...this is the only place where I'll reduce points - 4/5...
Overall, If you are looking for a family friendly, fun, relaxed and value for money 'Bali'day (holiday the Bali way), you can choose this place hands down...
This hotel is perfectly located on the beach meaning you can hire the on-site bikes and cycle around for hours along the seafront.
The rooms are not in any way fancy but for the amount of time we stayed in them they’re okay.
The pool is massive and never felt overcrowded. We never used the kids pool but it was a really good size with water slides.
Breakfast was perfect with an omelette station and an array of different breads (sourdough/granary) to set you up for the day.
The beach is gorgeous. Wether you’re staying at Prama or one of the higher end hotels along the seafront you all get the same beach so it comes down to how much time you like spending in your bedroom. We are a pretty much out and about after breakfast kind of family so didn’t need to splash out on the fancier hotels next door.
All in all i would definitely recommend the this hotel as the location is perfect. We honestly didn’t want to leave.
Resort is small, which we liked as we were with a large group of friends. We spent most nights at the Bamboo bar enjoying the live entertainment. Cocktails and food were delicious and affordable. Walking distance to many amenities and bikes for hire.
