Review by Wynter63 Brisbane Region, Australia

Two weeks in the junior suite and it was amazing, The pool was a perfect temperature everyday, the aircon was always cool and refreshing the breakfast was good let them know you would like something different all good. But the staff are so kind can’t do enough for you Ira the head lady on reception she was more like a friend. And Cadet was professional...

A little renovation would make this place the best in Bali for price and size. Yes the night club down end of lane is a bit annoying till 3 am. So ask for room closer to reception. Trust me the sub woofer was distracting me from the peaceful sound of running water. Well worth the money.

A slice of paradise

Me and my partner stayed here for 10 days in the Junior suite for new years and my birthday. The villas are close to numerous restraunts, coffee shops, gift shops, beach bars, clubs etc. However are still very private and quiet...

We did hear the duf duf music everyone keeps going on about, maybe 2 nights out of the 10. It wasn't at all disturbing to us (I dont know if people are exaggerating or maybe it matters in which villa you are in?) and we slept right through it.

I researched thoroughly before booking with The Sanya suits and I was not dissapointed at all in the facilities, condition, cleanliness, space and staff. They had it all as promissed. Our bedsheets were changed if not everyday then every second. Late in the afternoon around 5pm staff would come around and light mosquito coils for us and spray the suite with bug spray (which I appreciated soooooo much! As I usually get eaten alive by them lol).

A very sweet thing that they had done for me personally, was a small birthday cake they brought to our villa. Accompanied with a happy birthday song! Such a nice gesture which Im very thankful for.

Below is a detailed description of a few specifics if you're interested.

This suite consists of one decent size BEDROOM with large king size bed, flatscreen TV (no netflix), a desk, free wifi that is very good! Not once did we lose connection or found that it lagged. There's also a little nook where you can also relax in. AMAZING aircon! It was beyond humid in Bali and this aircon was a savior, when we were exhausted from the day and just wanted to relax and cool down.

Our BATHROOM consisted of a outside shower, a "inside" shower and bathtub/spa (tub is a bit slow to fill but very big, easily fits two people comfortably). Vanity and toilet. I write "inside" because all these are undercover and have walls surrounding them but there are no doors separating these from eachother, including the toilet. This didn't bother us, we worked around it. Just something to be aware of if you're going with a friend etc. Bathroom also has a huge wardrobe, with pleanty of room to store all your belongings. Heads up about the toilet paper not being able to be flushed! It has to be thrown into the bin provided, otherwise the toilet will clog due to the small pipes in Bali (yes this is from personal experience lol). The bins are emptied every morning and we did not experience any inconvenience with this.

Outside is a large, VERY clean POOL and pool area. This pool would easily be fit for 4 people in my opinion. It was cleaned every day without failure! Opposite the pool there is a large deck with a two seater and armchair with a coffee table. Was enough for the two of us but wouldn't be for more than 2 people. There's also a dining table for 4 and a medium sized kitchen. Kitchen is a bit dated but clean and has the basics, including a small fridge which is stoked with 3 different types of soft drink (charged to room if consumed).

FOOD AND DRINK: Breakfast is included (except the floating breakfast which costs about 15AUD extra)

We sort of had a love-hate relationship with the breakfast. On one hand it is mostly a generous amount of food and tastes delicious. On the other hand it did become a bit tedious after day 4. Not much to choose from. Juices were ok. Some are freshly juiced. While others like the orange juice was definitely out of a bottle. We were also provided with small pastries and extra bread, jam, honey and spreads. Fruit was served aswell every morning, felt like it could of been mixed up a bit more. We were also provided fruit in our bedroom aswell (bananas are the only fruit I remember being in there atm, among other few).

We also ordered roomservice for lunch a few times. These were also love and hate. Some of the meals were absolutely amazing while others dissapointed (my partners steak was more fat than meat for example). Other meals like the mushroom soup for example. (OMG SOOO GOOD! And a must try), the deserts, sliders, sandwiches were all very delicious. The COCKTAILS were one, if not the best ones in Bali. We quickly noticed cocktails in Bali are more like mocktails. These ones definitely were made with decent amount of alcohole while being very tasty.

Pretty much the only other thing we were a bit dissapointed in was the transportation. Sanyas suits offer free transport to anywhere in Seminyak with their villa van. This van kept breaking down and having to go and be fixed. This wouldn't of really mattered much to us if we hadn't had a dinner reservation for my birthday we had to get to by a certain time or lose our table. They did however compensate by calling us a taxi and paying for it themselves as well as calling the restraunt to explain that we will be late, which we did very much appreciate. We also did use this van for one of our trips to Ubud and didn't have an issue.

All in all. This place for us has been a 4.5 out of 5. The staff are a huge part of why I really enjoyed my stay, they are all amazing. From the managers to the cleaners and drivers. Everyone is sooo kind and sooo helpful. We felt very at home and accommodate. Nothing was too hard for them. They're very considerate and respectful in every way.

Private Poolside Paradise!

Review by leanneos Brisbane, Australia

These private pool villas are huge in size, very comfy bed and the villas are spotlessly clean. They maintain the pool everyday. The breakfasts are amazing and they bring it right to you table!

The outside bathroom is incredible, it was such a great experience.

We will be back!!

Staff are so accommodating and Gidday and the front counter is super friendly and will arrange anything you need.

We will always stay at Sanyas, as it is close to restaurants and bars and markets.

It represents great value for money!

Just note that until 10pm you can hear music in the background coming from a bar on the street, but we found it nice to listen to as we relaxed with a wine!

Well done Sanyas! We will return

Gone downhill

Review by DenisM2987 Melbourne, Australia

It’s a sad duty to give this review. This was our second time at Sanyas, so we wanted to give feedback to the owner directly rather than post it publicly, but the staff would not give us the owner’s email address. So here goes:

We came back here because Sanyas has a lot to offer: great location close to everything but in a quiet spot...

It has all the facilities we look for: big bath, private pool, excellent A/C, privacy, good fridge, ample drinking water, etc. The staff are friendly and nice and that hasn’t changed.

But, sadly, the place has gone downhill. Last year there a few things needing some work, but 18 months later and nothing has been done - there are distinct signs of a lack of care. Toilet doesn’t flush properly; the bath leaks. We had to ask to get the cloudy pool attended to (twice in a week). Doorhandles are coming loose, some drawers and cupboards need fixing and cleaning (though the daily cleaning staff still do a good job of the main areas).

The wifi is patchy. The breakfast is poor and there is no system to ordering it. As there is no order form you must ring in the order, or order in person. This resulted in considerable confusion so that one day breakfast didn’t arrive and the next day the order we placed got lost between the front desk and the kitchen, so we received two phone calls at 10.40pm to sort it out! When it did arrive it was not good. The fruit and pastries are OK, but the nasi goreng lacks flavour. For an establishment that has recently opened a restaurant offering “cooking classes”, the food is disappointing. We ended up abandoning the included breakfast and eating out.

It’s truly disappointing that a place that could be SO good is letting itself go. It needs some work, some staff training and a re-focus on basics (like a good breakfast and a clean pool!). It may not have the resources of a giant hotel chain, but it’s not bargain accommodation by any means. For the price we think you could do much better and we will be looking elsewhere.

Amazing Stay

Review by MarilynMcD21 Cork, Ireland

We had an amazing stay in one of the junior suites, we got massages to our villa from the spa. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was incredible, we did the floating breakfast one morning and was well worth it. It's a great little gem to unwind and relax as its on a quiet road however your still a few minutes walk away fron the hustle and bustle of Seminyak...

Our flight out of Bali was a night flight and they managed to accommodate us with another villa for the day for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.
