The Samaya Ubud is situated in a picturesque location alongside the River Ayung, surrounded by rice fields and lush green hills. Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
A lovely place to stay in if you want to relax ...its a bit off road in Ubud ..carved out on ahill side with just 19 villas ...each villa is a cosy corner with gazebo and pool ..large bathroom ...the villas are at a lower level so need buggy to travel ..but they are very prompt ...over all very good place ..the swept away restaurant on Ayung river is a lovely place to chill
Just to say that it was one of the loveliest experiences we've had when on holiday. The resort has only 19 rooms/villas which are beautiful and very peaceful. Our villa looked out over a river with rapids which was stunning. The whole staff were so polite and attentive and they could not do enough for us, so much so we felt almost embarrassed with the attention. The young ladies serving at breakfast and dinner are so sweet. The quality of the food and the way it was presented really surprised us. It was amazing and I hope they hang on to the female chef who we asked to meet after our tasting menu dinner as it was of a very high quality. We've eaten at Michelin starred restaurants and we feel the food at the Samaya was up there. Well done to all at the Samaya.
This is probably the best resort I have ever stayed at. Everything was simply perfect. The villas were stunning, and the staff were exceptional, providing excellent service throughout our stay.
It is an ideal destination for couples seeking a romantic getaway. The resort is peaceful and private, with the accommodation designed to offer complete seclusion. Each villa has its own fantastic pool, adding to the luxurious experience.
I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic holiday.
This hotel was recommended to us by our travel company, Trailfinders, who usually don’t let us down. This was one of the best places we have stayed in anywhere in the world. Its location on the banks of the river, its seclusion from the hustle and bustle of Ubud town and the wonderful staff who really looked after us so well. We had riverside villas with private pool and a fantastic amount of personal space. Facilities were superb along with the inventive food options. Loved it all, including the buggy carts which ferry you around the resort. A perfect break.
We had a most relaxing and memorable 5 night stay at The Samaya, Ubud. From the point of arrival to our departure we were made to feel incredibly welcome and valued by all the staff, they are a lovely team. The setting is like a peaceful oasis, away from the bustle of Ubud, yet the town is within easy reach too via the hotel shuttle bus. The local culture trek was a real highlight as well as the 100 Candle dinner, which was exceptional on all levels, the setting, the service and the food. Breakfast at The Scene set us up well for the day, with an excellent choice of options for all palettes. The Sweptaway restaurant also served excellent food, all with a smile and some happy conversation too. We had a river view pool villa which was the perfect hideaway/setting for us on our honeymoon! Thank you to the whole team for such a positive welcome to Bali!
