Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Bangkok Menam Riverside opened under the name of Menam Riverside Hotel since 1986, subsequently being rebranded as part of the renowned Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
Set on 3. 5 acres of land with 285 meters river frontages. With 501 rooms and suites combine contemporary design with Thai elements, amenities, with a minimum size of 36 square meters, up to 170 square meters suite with views of the river, pool, or city’s skyline.
Located on the Charoenkrung Road, and on the eastern bank of Chao Phraya Riverside, Bangkok, connecting with Charoenkrung Road open doors to discovery and explore the temple of Emerald Buddha and Temple of Dawn, and Bangkok’s rendition of Chinatown.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Our experience at Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Bangkok Menam Riverside was extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable for a hotel claiming to offer five-star accommodation.
We booked two rooms, both of which were located directly opposite ongoing renovation and construction works. Throughout our stay, we were subjected to disruptive drilling, construction noise and strong chemical smells from spray painting and finishing works. The fumes were particularly concerning due to the potential health and safety risks.
What I find most unacceptable is that hotel management must have been aware of these works, yet still chose to sell us these rooms without any prior warning or disclosure.
I seriously question the management's judgement and standards. How can a hotel claiming five-star status consider it acceptable to accommodate paying guests directly beside an active construction site, exposing them to excessive noise and potentially hazardous fumes?
We paid for a comfortable hotel stay, not accommodation in the middle of a building site. The situation demonstrated a complete disregard for guest comfort, wellbeing and basic hospitality standards.
We have already raised a formal complaint and requested a refund, but the matter remains unresolved.
In my opinion, this experience falls far below the standards expected of a five-star hotel. I would not recommend this property, and I expect senior management to take responsibility and provide an appropriate resolution.
Fabulous view hotel in the riverside bangkok. Ramada plaza riverside Bangkok hote location food and beverage service everything is above the expectation. I love to visit this property.
Had a great week at the hotel. Complimentary boat to central pier during the day & early evening. Complimentary Tui tuk to Asiatique in the evening. Angie on the front desk gave us a good price for late check out. Small bar at the pool serving drinks & snacks.
The stay at Ranada was excellent. The prices excellent w.r.t facilities and room size. View from the room was excellent Lot of variety in breakfast with fruits and vegetarian options
Visit to floating market wat Saman Ancient city etc were real good.
Our cab driver was very helpful and advised what to visit and took reasonable charges

The river views are the standout feature of this hotel so I'd definitely choose a River View room over a cheaper city/pool-view room. This hotel stay was inspired by my previous trip to Bangkok where I enjoyed a night time dinner cruise on the river with my girlfriend. The river views are beautiful, particularly at night when the boats and dinner cruises pass by. The hotel is an older property and feels a little bit dated, but my room was comfortable, clean and spacious with excellent soundproofing. Breakfast wasn’t included in my stay and I refuse to pay $40 AUD per person for breakfast so I went elsewhere. There are other options in the immediate area for dinner and I’d suggest: Kowloon Diner and Kurissara Thai Cuisine. Asiatique is nearby, worth a visit (but not cheap) and many of the dinner cruises depart from here. Other than that, it didn’t feel like the immediate area had much to offer, especially for nightlife. If you want to visit Sukhumvit for the nightlife, then public transport is an option: it took just over an hour to get to Nana Station: 20 minute walk from hotel to Saphan Taksin Station, then skytrain to Siam, followed by skytrain to Nana (but make sure you understand which platform you need to be on, or you will lose time by getting on the wrong train and heading in the wrong direction). From memory the trains stop around midnight, so you will probably need a taxi for the return trip.
