Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We spent 5 nights at the Sai Hotel. The hotel is located in the wonderful Bang Tao area. Compared to other hotels we visited on this trip and in the past, we expected much more than we experienced. The welcome did not include the gestures we received in other places, such as a cold towel and a cold drink. One room was given to us upon our arrival even though it was not yet check-in time, which was great. Regarding the second room, they said that when it was ready, they would send us a message on the hotel's app. A message that never arrived. The hotel has 2 pools with one water slide for children, compared to other hotels that had more pools or a water park, which was impressive. The room we were given had a faulty air conditioner, at night the whole room was wet and humid and there was a smell from the sink. We told the maid who said she would call someone who had not come to fix it. We informed the reception the next morning and after they sent a technician to deal with the smell from the sewage in the sink and the air conditioner, the problems were relieved. Not completely and we were required to light a scented candle to eliminate the suffocating smell. The gym is small, and the equipment is rusty. I expected a 5-star hotel to be more well-maintained. The breakfast was the least rich and varied of the hotels on this trip, which is a shame, and the restaurants by the pool and on the beach are very expensive, as are the massages at the hotel, which are 7-8 times more expensive than the massages outside the hotel in nearby centers. Also, the shuttles that the hotel asks to coordinate are twice as expensive. It is better to book independently from Bolt. It felt like a cynical exploitation of the hotel's guests. The beach was very windy, but the stretch of beach looked really good even though we couldn't use it. The service from the reception staff, waiters, and bartenders was really excellent and we were very impressed. In conclusion, it wasn't bad, but next time we will look for another place.
We had such a great time at the kids club, our daughter loved spending time with mookie and mine! They were amazing!
It’s always nice to be back at Saii Laguna Phuket. I always receive such a warm welcome from all the staff here. There’s really nothing to complain about because everything is just so good. Definitely worth coming back for my vacation, even if it’s only for a short stay.
A special thank you to Khun Helena for the very thoughtful welcome from the moment I checked in and for taking care of all the arrangements. Also, a big thank you to Khun Ging and Khun Gift from the Executive Lounge for the great service and warm hospitality.
Hope to be back again soon! 🤍🌴
Fern is a great yoga . She teaches very well and is so friendly and attentive. Highly recommended! 🧘♀️✨
Several Areas Need Improvement ⭐⭐⭐
We had mixed experiences during our stay at SAii, hence the 3-star rating.
We experienced very genuine and sincere service from the staff at the beach restaurant, particularly Pop and the team. The security guards at the entrance were also consistently helpful and attentive. I especially appreciated how they would raise the barrier even before I reached the entrance during my daily jogs. These small gestures made a positive difference.
We arrived at the resort at around 12pm and check in was managed by Gade. We were informed that our room would be ready by 2pm, but unfortunately, despite several checks, we only received the room at around 2.30pm.
The bigger disappointment was the air-conditioning. There was a problem with our first room, which the duty manager acknowledged, and we appreciated being moved to another room. Unfortunately, the air-conditioning in the replacement room also had issues. It had to be turned up to the highest setting to cool the room sufficiently, resulting in significant noise throughout the night. The experiences were almost felt like trying to sleep on a plane with the loud aircraft engine at the background. We did not sleep well for the following two nights, and feedback to the duty manager.
Another point guests should be aware of is that the eateries and massage establishments immediately beside the resort are no longer operating. This leaves relatively limited options outside the hotel within easy walking distance.
The resort provides a shuttle, but during our stay it operated only at 1pm, 3pm and 7pm. Otherwise, you would need to walk approx 2km or take a taxi/Grab, which costs around THB200 each way. More frequent shuttle services, perhaps every 30–60 minutes during peak periods, would make a considerable difference.
On a positive note, we met some lovely fellow guests during our stay and made some new friends, which added to the experience.
One suggestion for the resort owners and developer would be to consider creating a continuous walking/jogging track around the lagoon. It would be wonderful for guests to have a safe and pleasant route for a morning jog, evening stroll, or even to walk towards the retail and dining areas outside the resort.
Overall, there are positives, particularly some genuinely warm and sincere members of the team. However, the guest experience needs to be more consistent across the front office, rooms, security and F&B. Improvements to room maintenance, more frequent shuttle services and better pedestrian connectivity would significantly enhance the overall experience.
