I stayed at room 101, which was the "Holiday suite". The room was on the beach with incredible views. Felt very quiet. I never had any issues with the AC or the water pressure. The hotel was very quiet, nice breakfast (yes, flies and mosquitos are part of the far east). The beach was full of fish. Snorkeling was great. Taxi to Chewang or Lamai is 300-500 Baht. It is not cheap, however you do gain the utmost privacy and seclusion in the hotel. I would stay there again, but I guess only at the upscale rooms.
We had a remarkably beautiful bungalow right on the beach. You could not ask for a better view, with a nice deck and pleasant room. The view and snorkeling right outside our room make the stay a big success. The two pools are also very nice.
But our room air conditioner broke two nights in a row and never worked correctly the other nights, which is a problem when it is so hot you need air all night. And there was not ceiling or room fan to use as an alternative. The food was only so so, and it was annoying that we learned on our last day you could get an omelet on request as partof your free breakfast, when there is no sign of it at the buffet and the staff never mentioned it. There were lots of flies landing on the buffet food and the food offerings were poor, like cold and way undercooked bacon.
Still, because of the location, it was a good stay. Sadly, they could make it a lot better by telling people there is the option of an omelet, better food in the buffet, and having fans in the rooms.
The room was okay, the air conditioner needs work and took a long time to cool down the room. The lights are a little confusing and the plugs didn’t work very well with an adapter for some reason. The safe in our room was also not working properly.
The infinity pool is to die for, the drinks are wonderful, and the menu food is delicious, although breakfast was a little meh.
There was quite a language barrier at reception which created a minor issue at check-in, but otherwise the staff were great.
Would I stay here again? Yes.
A beautiful hotel with magnificent views, lovely pool and spotless rooms. Beds are comfortable and sheets new and fresh. This is a high end 4 star hotel and is a bargain. Staff go above and beyond just be patient as their English can be limited. The beach is lovely to look at but a bit rough to swim in with a bit of rubbish floating around ( a familiar story for Thailand). The restaurant is quite nice but a bit limited, the big downfall is the bar menu which looks like it was written in 1985 ( very old school cocktails) . They could do with someone revamping their drink list to include some up to date martinis etc
We had a great 2 weeks stay at the Coral Cliff Beach Resort. The hotel is clean and the rooms done daily. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough to make your stay better. If there is a down side, it's the location, saying that if you wish to go to Lamai or Chewang there are plenty songthaew that pass regularly.
