A weeks stay

Review by vishakac London, United Kingdom

We booked this stay online, for a week, as our trip was quite impromptu. The reviews online were decent and the value for money seemed good. I won’t say that the stay was very disappointing, however I wouldn’t want to stay here again! The booking site mentions of the room size to be 70 m, however it forgets to mention that the 70 m space includes two balconies and a kitchen! Found the room of the 1 bedroom villa to be very small and inconvenient in moving around the room! The air conditioner is very old and on hot humid afternoons, wasn’t just cooling the room! They ought to get those replaced! The staff was quite courteous however it was a big challenge to communicate with them in English, especially over the phone! So if you crunched on the budget, I wouldn’t recommend staying here!

Stinky air and garbagge beach

This hotel is located far away from Lamai Beach and is at a very noisy street with lot of traffic. The air is stinky and the beach is not nice, not clean, full of garbagge. The beach villa we rented had a lot of little ants. The breakfast is very disapointing. You have to order it a night before and choose a time when to eat...

But then it was still not ready at this time and they went to buy it at the family mart next door and we had to wait for it. It is really a bad joke! The pool has no umbrellas, no shadow. Also the staff at the reception is really not friendly. Absoluty cant recommemd to stay here.

No beach front villa guaranteed

We’ve book a one bedroom beach front villa, the day we check in they told us the rooftop of the villa was destroyed by the storm. And sent us to the garden view villa, which is way different than a beach front villa. The second day we go to the beach and saw both one bedroom and two bedroom villa was occupied by two groups of people...

After 10minute of asking why there are people inside the broken roof villa, they finally told us there was a overbooked. And the receptionist is so rude and ask us to leave and get a full refund, how can I easily get a beach front villa during Christmas. Why there will be people staying in the villa that suppose to be mine, that is ridiculous. If you want to have a nice beach front villa for your holiday, maybe you should get another hotel.

LOVE this place!

Review by ShoBu20 Lincoln, United Kingdom

This was our second visit to Samui Garden Home Grand Villa 2 (2 bedroom) on the beach front, returning this year after being impressed last year, on our first visit to Samui. We love the resort and it’s location, outside Lamai centre, but only a 10 min ride into town. Easy enough to flag down a taxi or tuk, tuk...

The road can be noisy with traffic but the outlook the other side, we feel, is special, so we got used to it very quickly and found it calm and peaceful. The beach is quiet, swept every morning by the staff, with shallow warm waters, and the opportunity to watch those trying the water sports at Samui Sea Sports, just down the beach. Beach bars are close by for a snack/drink. The villa is as the pictures show - beautifully done out inside. It is very clean (cleaned daily, with fresh towels daily too) and great comfy beds. Sufficient cooking equipment provided too. Breakfast is included - several choices (you select the night before) plus as much continental b’fast, as you want served at the new Leaf Cafe. The pool is a decent size, clean and was much enjoyed by the children , although this year there were no umbrellas for shade. The staff are brilliant. Great e-mail contact and response times when booking, with Muay, and very helpful/cheerful on a daily basis when on resort - providing taxi’s, booking a car and trips/massage; seeing to any issues promptly when they arose. Collection from the airport on arrival was also included. Sad that we had to leave! Would return annually if we could!! Thanks to everyone who made our stay great!

Great place for budget travel

Review by ashakerfrancis Coventry, United Kingdom

My girlfriend and I stayed here while on our graduation trip and it was great! The hotel was cost effective and clean and the staff were attentive and extremely helpful, especially in booking a day trip for us and helping us to get some money out when the ATMs failed me. Although the drains in the bathroom smelled and the water pressure in the shower was pretty bad, the bungalow itself was beautiful and just what we needed. The bed was also really comfortable...

The location was a little bit too far out for our liking but it was very quiet so it was great on the days we just wanted to relax by the pool or on the terrace, especially as there was a beach just across the road which was nice as it wasn't very busy so we could just chill out and go for a swim.

All in all we had a great experience (minus the frog that kept getting into our kitchen) and got good value for our money.
