St Paul's Bay on the North-east coast combines all the charm of an old fishing town with all the amenities that modern Malta has to offer. No wonder it remains Malta's most popular holiday destination. With easy access to neighbouring resorts Bugibba and Qawra, it is the place to go for a 'Best of Malta' style holiday that can be as full of culture or fun, sightseeing or sunbathing as you wish.
And one of the most popular hotels to see and do it all from is the Gillieru Harbour Hotel – a wonderfully authentic Maltese building in a quiet setting, flanked by an old chapel and overlooking the old fishing harbour.
The Gillieru Harbour Hotel is a reasonably small hotel, but utterly charming. One of the many wonderful things about it is its traditional look and feel. It gives you a different insight into daily life on the island. You can get up early and watch the colourful fishing boats heading out to sea – still such a big part of daily life here.
And yet, the bustling heart of Malta is close at hand. If it's the shops and restaurants and bars you want, they're just a few minutes walk away. Beyond them, you'll find the brighter lights and bigger entertainments in Bugibba.
The Gillieru Harbour Hotel provides its own entertainments, though, with an adult's and children's pool and a wonderful sun terrace, so you never have to go far to soak up some rays. The terrace also gives you a wonderful view out over the harbour and the slowly changing seascape.
You can take your pick of hotel restaurant or round off the day with a drink at the hotel bar. The rooms are air conditioned/heated (at specific times) and twin rooms all benefit from en-suite bathrooms– most with outstanding views and afford excellent accommodation for your stay.
Combining the twin facets of Malta gives you a rich, vibrant holiday experience. With the rich cultural heritage of St Paul's Bay, plus Bugibba's lively amenities both within easy reach, the Gillieru Harbour Hotel is the perfect place to enjoy the breadth of experiences Malta has to offer.

Great holiday great hotel great staff
Very clean hotel - beautiful rooms - we were so lucky to be given a seaview room.
Breakfast was superb - staff very helpful.
Great location for getting around in.
Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.
Thank you Mercury
Hotel situation good. Short walk to shops and bars. Quiet area apart from traffic at front. Pool excellent and always clean. Plenty of nightlife not too far away. Plenty of places to eat out too. Hotel is not too big so suited us well. It has walk in showers and a lift to all floors so is suitable for if you have walking difficulties. Next time perhaps tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms would be a bonus. A very good hotel.
We have been many times to Gillieru , always been very pleased with hotel , staff excellent so helpful .they are going through a transitional period at the moment with many changes but everyone is still there for you so much , would recommend it to anybody
Very helpful staff at the hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the hotel we picked staff very friendly and did everything to make our holiday great. Reception staff very helpful and made us feel very welcome and looking forward to going back next year.
This hotel is in a lovely situation, and the staff go out of their way to make your stay is very enjoyable. All in all, a terrific holiday.
Staff very friendly and approachable. Mercury Rep Eleanor very pleasant and immediately helpful, have to make special mention of the tour guide and driver for our excursions, Rose is a living Malta/Gozo encyclopaedia and very entertaining and Charlie the bus driver is an ace at manoeuvring in very tight streets!
Excellent service at the hotel and Mary Rose on the front desk was very helpful.
Well sited on seafront. Good standards throughout. Mary Rose on reception very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast.
Absolutely marvelous, your rep. very good too, everyone helpful
I booked this holiday for my Dad who said the hotel customer service was very good and accommodating, he was extremely pleased especially as a single person traveller.
An excellent hotel, staff and service. I will want to change my booking in April 2016 from the Soreda to the Gillieru
A great base for a family with children (9 and 11) that also suited the less ambulant older person in our party. On this occasion we only took a short break due to school holidays and work commitments but this is certainly a hotel and location for a longer return visit
