The Sorrento Beach Resort is right on Sorrento Beach, one of the wide sandy beaches that make up Perth's fabulous Sunset Coast. Just 20 minutes north of the city and close to Hillary's Boat Harbour with its shopping, restaurants and cafes, the resort is extremely well located. There is a swimming pool and sun terrace in the grounds which overlook the beach.
This was my second stay at this hotel in the last month. Will be back again, great location, good service, free on-site parking.
First time was in a hotel room, nice and comfortable, all the amenities I needed but no tea/coffee making facilities as advertised (maybe due to COVID?)
Second time was in a 3-bedroom apartment. All the basics were there for our family...
While it felt 4-star in the hotel room, it only felt 3-star in the apartment. Older decor and furnishings, kitchenware needs a refresh (e.g. dented/bent frypan that doesn't sit on the stovetop flush), no dishwasher. Looks like they've recently replaced the old lighting with new LED oyster lighting but they chose the cool white (6000K) lights for living areas so they are harsh and lack ambience. This would be "ok" (still not ideal) if they had a few warm white lamps around, but alas there are none, so it's not a nice place to sit back and enjoy a glass indoors in the evenings. Hopefully they improve this in the future. Weirdly, some of the bedrooms have warm white ceiling lights, but cool white lamps, so it's evident no thought has gone into colour temperatures of the lighting which is a shame as it has more of an impact on aesthetics than many realise.
we stay in family room for 2 nights on play and stay deal.my two adult daughters andmyself and my grandaughter 3. free parking was great.beds we found very small and uncomfortable. the hot water ran out after second person short shower. heater worked well.
If you get the three nights for two deal this place is very good value for money. Good: Staff, location, pool area for kids Bad: furniture is hard, beds, couches all like rocks. Parking if you have a high vehicle you can’t go underground as clearance is two metres but lots of others don’t park underground and parking isn’t assigned. 2 bedroom apartments are definitely only 3 star and very limited tv channels
3 nights in a king ocean view room. Bathroom with spa was huge and amazing. Bed was comfy...
Our friends had the better room with a huge window in the lounge area overlooking the ocean, where our room had a tiny window in the lounge area, the bigger window was off the bedroom but was nice sitting on the balcony. Continental breakfast included was quite adequate but I did upgrade for $11 for the hot options, which were amazing. Daniel (they say small Daniel) is an asset to the breakfast dining area. Kelly in reception is a joy, funny and has great stories to tell. Nothing was too much trouble. Undercover parking was great. Bbq facilities good and the pool area was small but adequate. Wish they had a hand rail at the end where the steps are as the steps are quite dangerous for us seniors 🥰 look forward to another stay
This place was good value for money. We had a two bedroom apartment and it was incredibly spacious. The bathroom appeared to be recently refurbished too. The pool was lovely with sun loungers available. Plenty of parking too, if you can’t park at your room there is an underground car park. Yes this hotel is showing signs of its age in places but it was clean and the staff were exceptionally professional and friendly. ( special mention to Chloe). It’s a ten minute walk to Hilarys Boat Harbour and directly opposite Sorrento Beach. We would definitely stay here again.
