Wow, when you walk in the hotel and see that beach , its pretty amazing!!! Hotel is dated as are all hotels, but clean sheets and clean towels , the staff are so friendly, really lovely people , met loads of people who were repeat guests . Fab holiday in a great location.
Wow!!!! What an amazing hotel. When we arrived we were greeted by an amazing view of the sea. We booked a room with a garden view and were more than surprised when we got a sea view as well. All though the room was a bit dated the bed was comfortable they had left us a bottle of rum and bottles of coke in the room to enjoy and even thought to put ice in the freezer. The staff are wonderful especially Tiffany!!! The food is good especially the shrimp Alfredo and the fish cakes. We had our birthday and we got a bottle of Prosecco each and we thought that was a lovely gesture. All in all we had a fabulous time and will defiantly be returning.
Now return from Southern Palms this is one of the best Hotels on the south Coast ! Top notch service Can easily describe as a 4 star hotel , from the Views ,Staff, Service , Room , Food everything is amazing. Arlene the housekeeper, Corey the bellman, Rochester. Michelle, Linda. Briana, Clifford from the restaurant wss anazing other restaurant staff too but I didn't get their names, front desk and water sports staff was amazing but I didn't get every one names but every one made my stay feel welcoming and amazing! So because of this exceptional Service I'll be back ! The only thing I would like is a microwave in the room but am not sure if it's available on request.
We have visited here on previous occasions and it hasn’t changed a bit over the years. If you are looking for a lively holiday with lots of daytime / evening entertainment then this isn’t the place for you. If you are looking for a relaxing family or couples holiday with pools and a gorgeous beach literally beside you then you have found a gem! We have never had any issues with staff not being attentive to our needs and if you make an effort to interact with them they will offer as much in return.
Service can sometimes be slow but when you are on holiday there is no need to rush. It’s the same all over and Bajan people are the nicest you could ever encounter and certainly won’t rush them.
The rooms are a little dated but more in keeping with tradition. You have everything in there you need should you wish to conjure up a lunchtime snack although cooking a meal might be a struggle. If you take your own hairdryer (there is one in the bathroom cupboard) just be aware of the continental voltage. The rooms are always so clean and the cleaners do a fantastic job everyday and I know our bed sheets were changed regularly and clean towels everyday.
The “Gap” has certainly been hit since Covid and lots of places are sadly no longer there and it seems the boatyard company is almost in control of a lot of the restaurants there now. Not a problem as there are others although all of them are worth a visit.
This hotel sits perfectly nestled in the middle of the gap and we always felt safe walking either way at any time of day or night. The road is sometimes a little busy and noisy on a Saturday evening but nothing to spoil a nights sleep in the beds that are so comfy. There used to be people hanging around opposite at the shop that was there making a noise but that has since closed.
Food is expensive but then that’s not just here but the island over and in my opinion eating at the hotel is inline with what others charge.
Do we love this place? Yes. Would we return for a fifth, sixth, seventh time? Yes without any hesitation.
We were greeted like we were putting the staff out, the place looked like Chernobyl, ashtrays full empty cups all over the place, absolute hell hole, we thought let’s give it the benefit of the doubt and after a shower and luggage drop off went to the bar, wish we hadn’t bothered took 30 minutes to get 2 warm bottles of local beer and 2 wet glasses with tissues underneath, this place is like a retirement home in the sun, management just seem to be floating about not caring, later on in our trip we learnt that the property was owned by the rich Canadian family who go Christmas when the service is even worse apparently, the security guards are hopeless also a quick wave they’d let anybody in, DO NOT BOOK HERE IT IS CHEAP FOR A REASON
