Yellow Bird is an affordable gem at the start of the bustling waterfront strip of St. Lawrence Gap. This charming 22-room boutique hotel – with its friendly and attentive staff – faces picturesque St. Lawrence Bay, where colorful fishing skiffs bob and waves break on the protective reefs beyond.
The property underwent a US $1.25 million refurbishment in 2015 which included a total facelift to all guest rooms and public areas. The updated guest rooms including bathrooms and kitchenettes have been renovated with luxurious finishes to ensure that our guests enjoy their stay with us in chic & stylish surroundings.
Hotel amenities include a swimming pool and a poolside bar & restaurant, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Free parking is available onsite.
This award-winning hotel has been named as one of the Top 25 hotels in the Caribbean for Service and Romance. Stay with us, enjoy our fabulous location and experience 5 star service at affordable rates.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Wonderful central location to get to restaurants, bars, and beaches in the more active part of the island. The entire staff at the Yellow Bird Hotel was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The restaurant is reasonably priced and offers a great breakfast and lunch. The pool is beautiful. Our room was clean and spacious offering full refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishes and utensils. The Yellow Bird is quite a value for the accommodations provided. We stayed on the 3rd floor directly above the restaurant and bar and had no noise issues what so ever. Will definitely stay here again. The Yellow Bird Front Desk Staff deserves a shout out (Mario afternoons & evenings and a wonderful woman who works in the mornings). They act like a personal concierge if you ask them. They will book transportation, give information on buses, beaches, restaurants, and any requests you have. Highly recommended!
I must say I already reviewed this place but I was reading someone else’s review and saying they don’t take US dollars they do take US dollars theydo take tips they do take credit cards. They do take barbados money which is really the most important part because I feel like as an islander it would be hard for them to go to the bank to cash it if it’s a US dollar it’s better to get for barbados money or use your credit card but this place is amazing for someone to say they don’t take it. They really do take it. This place is outstanding.
You can’t fault this hotel it’s lovely. The views are amazing and something I will remember forever. The staff are all great and so friendly . Tip I’d ask for a room on level 2 or 3 so that you can watch the views . Although at night we could hear noise from nearby bars it didn’t affect our sleep. Rooms are immaculate.
Yellowbird Hotel didn’t just give us a place to stay — they gave us a place to belong. What began as genuine hospitality quickly grew into friendship, and before long, it blossomed into FAMILY. 💛🐦
Every single person at Yellowbird pours heart, soul, and joy into what they do, and it shows in every moment, every smile, every detail.
Yellowbird isn’t just a hotel — it’s a home away from home. A place where you’re welcomed with open arms, remembered by name, and treated like family from the moment you arrive.
If you’re coming to Barbados, trust me… Yellowbird Hotel is where your heart will find a home. 💛🇧🇧✨
Cannot say enough about staying at this wonderful facility where you’re treated like family. Not only have we rebooked each year since our first trip there in 2024 but we have encouraged friends and family to do likewise. In 2027 we will have six family members and two dear friends staying at same time. The staff are caring and thoughtful, the property spotless, the balcony views spectacular, in the midst of the life of the Gap.
