Although this was a short stay trip (one night/ 2 days in-transit) we would definitely return for a longer stay. Due to covid19 restrictions we had to remain in our room/ private patio area for the first 12hrs of our stay, after that we just stayed in the room/ hotel grounds as they were so relaxing. The room was massive and room facilities were great...
Huge bathroom and the in-room kitchen facilities would allow for you to make all meals in your room if so chose. We did room service due to our short stay and it was great. We were on the ground floor and the ocean view across the road was amazing! My wife and I will be returning with our daughter next time and will no doubt have a great stay at this hotel. All hotel staff we encountered (front desk/ room service etc etc), we really nice, welcoming and helpful.
We loved the how intimate the property was, it was like our home in paradise. The staff were warm and very accommodating, especially the restaurant staff lead by a very friendly and professional manager, The food was excellent and on time every day we were there. There were a couple things that we felt could be improved: 1) the couch in our room was old and very unattractive, it should be replaced; 2) the front desk should be more explicit when making arrangements for guest, this ranges from arranging a taxi to making reservations for sailing, snorkeling, etc...
We would prefer when arrangements are made the details should be provided in advance of the activity, so time, cost and logistics are perfectly clear; 3) Please upgrade the TVs to smart TVs, in the rooms so guest can stream and access Netflix, Hulu, and others. To be clear we had a blast and staying and the "Yellow Bird Hotel" was an important part of our enjoyable and relaxing trip to Barbados.
Great staff who were extremely friendly and efficient. Lovely food - highly recommend the blackened Mahi Mahi and mac pie - breakfast was also delish. Great view from balcony of tranquil St Lawrence bay
The property is beautiful. I love the flora on the outside. The room was well decorated, the color coordination was lively...
The room is fully equipped with the necessary utensils for my stay. Your everyday items are in the room.
We stayed two nights in a deluxe king room. The room was clean, comfortable, very large and had a full kitchen and large balcony overlooking the sea. The staff were wonderful...
This was a great location in St. Lawrence Gap, and especially nice if you're looking for a hotel that is outside of the city and isn't a large brand-name hotel. We enjoyed a dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food and service were great. Fair warning regarding COVID-19 restrictions. We traveled from the US, have been fully vaccinated and had negative pcr tests, all compliant with the immigration requirements. We were surprised when we arrived at the Barbados airport and were tested again for COVID-19 and quarantined until the test results came back, which could be up to 48 hours. We were told the hotel would tell us the quarantine restrictions and were very surprised that we had to remain in our room or on our balcony, could not go outside to the pool (away from people). Our surprise was due to the fact that we were fully vaccinated and had just tested negative. The hotel was very strict about compliance with the quarantine but all staff were kind and helpful and I felt that they were complying with the country's safety requirements. I spoke with Barry, at the front desk, about how I could speak with someone with immigration regarding the quarantine. He had someone from the COVID hotline call me within 5 minutes, which was much appreciated. My "fair warning" is that during the pandemic, don't be surprised if you have to quarantine despite "passing" the immigration requirements. But the hotel managed this professionally and appropriately. If you will be traveling there during the pandemic, be sure to book a room with a balcony for your quarantine period. Fortunately we received clearance the next morning and were able to enjoy St. Lawrence Gap. All rooms face the sea. The hotel no elevator, only stairs, so request a lower floor if you have difficulty with stairs. They have staff who can help getting your luggage to your room. If/when I visit Barbados again I will plan on staying at this lovely hotel without any second thoughts.
