Half term family break

Review by keilynn Rothwell, United Kingdom

Just back from the aquasol after travelling with 4 grandchildren aged from 5 to 9 years old. Parents travelling with us, we had 1 studio and 2 one bedroom apartments. We requested being close together and the hotel accommodated us well, so the grandkids could see each other...

First impressions as it was late evening when we arrived, we’re good. The restaurant had closed but the hotel had made us up a packed meal of sandwiches , fruit. And water which was most welcome. Daylight dawned, and we could see that the grounds looked tired, but the pool area and splash park was ok, so happy kids. Due to it being end October the pools were quite cold, but to be fair once in it was ok. It’s a fantastic place for all ages, with slides, volleyball pool, and a general pool to swim in, but the lazy river was the real star. The choice of food in the restaurant was fine , everyone managed to find plenty to eat, although like a lot of Mediterranean countries, it could have hotter. The table clearing was good, if not to fast, put your fork down and it was whipped away. The desserts were very repetitive. The entertainment now. Well kids disco🤔 a tape played 6 songs with one member of staff showing them a few moves. Same thing every night it was ok for little ones but over 6 they were very bored. The bingo game afterwards kept the older kids and parents occupied for 30 mins or so before the main show started. If you don’t make it don’t worry you won’t be missing anything exciting, definately needs working on. If your expecting for your kids to play on the beach you will need to take a 30 minute walk to the nearest beach where it’s excellent. Toilets, changing cubicles and snack bar. There is a bus at the top of the hill outside the hotel which is 2 stops to the beach. Take your own inflatables, buckets snd spades or pay a fortune for them there. Would we go again, yes most definitely, the holiday was for the grandkids and they enjoyed every second. They were happy and that made me happy.

Pleasantly surprised - what you see is what you get.

Pleasantly surprised by the hotel after reading some of the reviews here.

We arrived at about 1am so it was quiet but the check-in was quick, man on reception was friendly and helpful and have us a tray of sandwiches and a couple bottles of water which was a nice touch.

The room was big and clean (we had a 1 bed apartment) on arrival with plenty of cupboard and drawer space and the kids beds in the living area were of a good size...

Two singles pushed together in the bed room. Mattress was comfortable, sheets and blankets were clean. You can see that the hotel has tried to keep the rooms looking modern but it has been done on the cheap; the rooms were probably the thing that makes it a 3 star rather than anything higher.

Facilities were great, clean pool areas, decent sun loungers and parasols and the water park with lazy river is probably the highlight of the place, especially if you have kids. Water park opened at 10, but you had to queue from about 9:20 to guarantee sun loungers. Life guards were vigilant but friendly and you can use your inflatables in the river and on the green slide.

Food was decent, we always found something to eat for the 4 of us and the quality was what you’d expect from a 3 star hotel. Breakfast was always plentiful, good choices of cooked food, pastries, pancakes, cereal and cooked meats and cheese. Lunch and dinner always had a choice of meats, vegetables and usually a pasta dish along with chips, potatoes and rice. We did eat out 3 nights out of 7, though this was through choice and not necessity.

The beach is very rocky though Coral Bay beach is a 10 - 15 min walk away. Coral Bay strip with bars and restaurants is 10 minutes away on foot, though it’s up a steep hill, which we didn’t mind as we were aware when we booked it, but some might be out off by this.

Entertainment was lacking, and kids disco was only 15 minutes long which was disappointing, but it didn’t ruin our stay.

Overall we had a great family holiday and were happy with the room, food and facilities. What you see is what you get and the 3 star Jet2holidays rating is fair.

Lovely holiday

What a lovely holiday we had at this really nice hotel, great food and waterpark. The best fun we had was the entertainment! Alex was absolutely amazing, so involved with the guests and funny and polite! He made our holiday! Will definitely be going back just to see Alex, especially his fire eating!!

Amazing!

Had another great time here, every member of staff is so lovely from bar staff, maids, restaurant staff and of course a big shout out to the entertainment staff! Despite strict covid regulations in Cyprus they really try their best to get everybody involved, kids and adults throughout the day and night. Which I imagine is sometimes a thankless task - but they never stop smiling! Thanks again Aqua Sol - and well done tl the management team

A fantastic holiday, but …..

We have just got back from a fantastic week at the Aqua Sol Village , I was presently surprised on how nice it was , the accommodation was very spacious and clean , the food was mainly good with plenty of choice , the water park was a good bonus and the pool area was a decent size , the kids play area was good as well , I would of definitely gave it a 4 but downgraded it to a 3 because we booked this hotel as it had a kids club that said various activities and a day and frequent evening entertainment program but I was disappointed with what was on offer , the kids club was painting stones 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon every day that it was on was just the same ( painting stones from the beach ) , the highlight of the evening entertainment was the bingo (lol) where prizes ranged from €70 to €175 depending on how many played it , the kids disco was quite late starting at 21:00 and finishing at 21:17 , the fire show was half decent but the rest was poor , one night it said there was music night which consisted of playing a CD , daytime entertainment wasn’t any better I was asked on my first day to play French boules then never seen anyone doing anything else the rest of my week we did have a fantastic time there but mainly due to the people we met there . If your not bothered about kids club or day or evening entertainment then this is the place for u …
