Stayed here mid November. Overall not a bad place. Staff were very friendly and helpful...
All inclusive package was very good and a good choice of food for all tastes every night. The only thing i didn't understand which was slightly annoying was I was only allowed a drink of pepsi in a half pint glass. If its all inclusive what does it matter? Lager etc was in a pint glass so why couldn't I have a pepsi in a pint glass? Thats the rules I was told! We stayed in the Artemis Suites and really was very pleasant. Basically its a 2 bedroom flat with balcony overlooking the harbour. Comes with everything you need for self catering including pots and pans etc. Areas do need attention as other people have said and the cleaner needs to move things like the coffee table etc to clean under it as there was a piece of orange under ours which had attracted quite a few ants and obviously been there for some time. If your a smoker you will find it very laid back compared to the UK. Smoking is permitted pretty much everywhere apart from inside which is understandable so sat on the balcony is fine.
Location is perfect. Bus station opposite, harbour 2 min walk, supermarket across the road. Would we return? Yes we would. For the money we paid you can't ask for more. As long as its comfortable to sleep in what more do you want. Seeing as it is out of season there is still 'entertainment' in the evenings and shops are open till late every night.
The staff at this hotel are very helpful and friendly. They were under pressure due to the Cypriot government restrictions over Coronavirus but coped very well I upgraded from B & B to all inclusive and it is excellent value to do this. The food for all meals was really good with an excellent choice including vegetarian...
The pool area is very nice and very clean as was the apartment. The only small downside was that my apartment in Aphrodite block could have done with a little updating. All in all a very enjoyable stay and in a great location
Just cancelled my £4000 holiday here for new year 2020- after staying here for the 4th Time in 5 months - after mr neofetu- manager or whatever admittedly got the wrong end of the stick and accused me and a few others of ‘taking the piss out of his hospitality’ at my disabled sons birthday celebrations. On the word of andreas- who last month was overheard slagging all English customers off in Greek. Lies!why?!Also upset that a female member of staff took cash from my disabled son for lunch as he was stood at the buffet choosing what to have! Also really not nice was going to wash my hands in the toilet and having the cleaner ranting at me for putting paper down the loo when I hadn’t been in the loo!
Was asked by a staff member to take this review down and did - but decided not to be bullied into not telling people what these people can be like...
A real shame as there are some lovely people that work here too. Really disgusted and will not be returning
Against a backdrop of pandemic and travel uncertainty we travelled. Was it worth it? Yes. Our trip here has been wonderful and even the de facto lockdown we currently find ourselves in cannot obscure the beauty of this island, a beauty to rival Aphrodite herself...
The staff have been courteous, friendly and warm. To name but one, we found Christella on reception to be knowledgeable, friendly and to display a refreshing passion about the island and it’s culture. The food is worth every euro and the location is superb. I would, and will, recommend this place to you dear reader as a thoroughly good choice for a holiday.
I agree with the previous revue from Mharibee to a large degree . We also arrived late on the 29th Feb for one week .
Booked with Teletext Holidays but what a poor experience that was . Should have used BookCyprus as we have before and booked flights direct with jet2 from Stansted . Arrived before 10pm and the rooms we booked , 2 x standard studio , were not available and they had allocated us a 3 bed / 2 bath apartment in Penelope block ...
I believe they thought they were doing us a favour but we would have preferred separate rooms and it was too late in the day to argue the toss as the bar closes before 12 .
The apartment was , of course , much bigger than our two rooms would have been , but overlooked the main road , directly opposite a large supermarket on one side , and the bin collection area on the other , both of which could be very noisy , very early . The rooms are certainly in need of refurbishment but are comfortable enough
Water heating needed to be done on a demand basis rather than be on tap , and , as for the toilet arrangements ! Suffice it to say , you are not allowed to flush toilet paper , and a waste bin is provided for it . Who'd be a cleaner ?
As we arrived late we had no food in the apartment so decided to buy breakfast in the restaurant / bar / entertainment room the next morning at a cost of €7 each which was ok but not impressive considering many of the harbour front restaurants do a full English for €4 or less .
We never had another meal there , finding the many local venues had greater variety at very reasonable prices . Amongst these was Stavros ( right under our apartment ) for a gigantic cod and chips, and The Harbour & The Moorings who both do a 3 couse menu for €14.50 & €12.95 respectively . One friendly barman but the draught Keo was poorly kept so we weren't regulars there either , especially as the ' entertainment was not to our taste , although the music on Friday night was excellent ( duo ) .
The position of the hotel is faultless , being so close to the harbour with its many restaurants and bars , and the bus station ( standard fare €1.50 ) to as far away as Polis and Coral Bay . We hired a car from the airport through Argus car hire and got a Nissan Note for £40 which included full insurance . Summer rates are at least double . As there were 3 of us this was probably cheaper than paying for transfers with the added advantage of being free to travel around .
Reception staff , especially Christiana , were excellent and welcoming .
Pool area at the rear of the complex with plenty of Sun beds available but I'm not sure that the same would be true in summer .
In summary , for the price we paid , the hotel represented good value , but , unless we could be guaranteed a quieter room , I wouldn't go there again in season , although at this time of year it is ideally placed .
