Set in extensive grounds with well-manicured lawns (and as many shady spots as there are sun traps), the Imperial Island by Louis Hotels is a delightful place to relax. Like Paphos it seamlessly combines old world charm with modernity. You'll admire the clean sweep of the public areas – its open restaurant and cocktail bar – all wonderfully polished and spacious. There's a real feeling of tradition here too, and a devotion to good old-fashioned values.
Of course the sun reigns supreme over Cyprus and the Imperial Island by Louis Hotels is one of the best places to enjoy it from. With vast spaces given over to sunbathing you'll always find a suitable spot to catch some rays.
And assuming there's any time left between the exploring and sunbathing you can make the most of the indoor and outdoor pools and the leisure club with its sauna, Jacuzzi and massage facilities.
You'll find your twin room spacious and inviting. With a private bathroom and balcony, and facilities including satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a radio and minibar, you'll be very comfortable indeed. Rooms are complete with air-conditioning from May-Oct, and heating from Nov-Apr.
If Paphos is one of the jewels in the crown of Cyprus, then the Imperial Island by Louis Hotels is one of its finest places to stay. Relish the experience.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The Imperial Island by Louis Hotels is ideally located on the shore within walking distance of Paphos's busy centre and with magnificent views of the famous harbour and its old castle. It has extensive grounds leading to the sea and these house a swimming pool and vast sunbathing areas. There is also an indoor pool (Heated November to April).
We chose this hotel for our winter break away as the reviews said the hotel was a lovely “5” star hotel after extensive renovations. Upon arriving it was clear the hotel had just had a lick of paint and it definitely didn’t scream five stars from first impressions of the building. Five star hotels I’ve travelled to don’t leave you waiting at breakfast for drinks for over 45mins, don’t clear your drinks away whilst you are still choosing your next course at the buffet. Also they don’t leave dirty plates on tables for nearly an hour. This was a regular theme throughout the hotel and especially in any communal area, dirty glasses were always visible when you walked through the hotel. Although the drinks service at the adults pool was good, again dirty glasses were left for hours. We even had to move dirty glasses from the previous night before we sat at sun beds the following morning. We spoke to a restaurant manager about the dirty plates and said it doesn’t look good for a five star hotel. The hotel gave us some fruit and a bottle of wine. The buffet was nice, but repetitive. The grounds are kept well, but paths are never swept or cleaned. Birds less visible and debris from trees all over paths to walk into the hotel. Paint from the main pool paving slabs all coming off onto people’s feet. The only stairs down are awful and saw a travel cot blocking an exit all night. Lucky there wasn’t a fire and a wheelchair user needed to use that exit! We realised we had to make the most of the time we were there, but would obviously not be ever returning and don’t understand how so many return year after year. We wondered if anyone on reception would ask us when we checked out today if we enjoyed our stay, whether things improved for us, but the receptionist didn’t even look up at us until I presented the room keys and asked if she wanted these? We didn’t get asked any questions about whether we would stay again, whether we would recommend. I suppose if you have regular returners then you don’t need to worry about the odd customers not having a five star experience. Most five star hotels I’ve been to have service of their upmost importance, but sadly we didn’t experience it here. Room was ok, again not a five star room though. I’m not sure of how the hotel ratings are classified in Cyprus, but think the hotel would most probably only be a three star in England. Don’t usually look forward to going home but….
This is our 3rd visit to this hotel and our 1st since the renovation. The quality of the bedrooms and public areas have definitely improved and the beds are really comfortable. The location is great as are outside pool areas and sunbeds. We have however found the overall dining experience to be disappointing. The breakfast is good, the cold buffet and desert choices for lunch and dinner are also good, but we have been disappointed with the quality and selection of hot food available, during our previous visits we could not fault the food selection, so I am not sure if this is because they are approaching the end of the season? This experience have also been made worse with my wife having spend last night vomiting and with severe stomach pains following our latest visit to the restaurant. We are due to fly home tomorrow so if we do eat today I guess it will be at another location. Lots of positives but unfortunately this will be our last visit to this hotel.
Just come to the end of another great two week holiday. Hotel is well located on the promenade with a 20 minute flat walk into Pafos town. Bus stop around 5 minutes walk with regular service into town. Hotel is spotlessly clean and looking much ligher and brighter following the latest refit. Staff are wonderful they cannot do enough for you. Loved our morning coffee on the terrace served by Mary who was always smiling. Food excellent and varied and staff always cheerful and welcoming with chefs always on hand to advise on food content if necessary. Doxa on the restaurant always smiling. Mr Chris the manager is always around to deal with any issues or problems first hand. New theatre is a great addition but perhaps a bit more variety needed. Gym looks great but equipment needs updating. We will definitely be back next year.
The food and service were incredible - really enjoyed the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. Yousif (who served drinks around the pool) was absolutely amazing and a real asset to the hotel!! The hotel was clean and had good facilities - always sunbeds free (although this may have been due to the time of year) The only negative I would say is we paid extra to stay in a suite - compared to other hotels I would not call this a suite. We had friends staying in different room styles and there was very very minimal difference between a suite and a sea-view room (same size, room facilities and experience) Would not recommend paying more for the suite - only for the sea view if this is something that matters to you.
Been back for just over a week now, from our latest holiday at the Imperial. Missing the sunshine and the company. From the minute we check in we feel as though we have come home. The staff on reception welcome us like we are family, with a smile and a welcoming drink. Chris the general manager was off duty when we arrived, but came to to say hello at breakfast the following day also Alina the front desk manager came to welcome us back. All the guests at the hotel are treated as though they are friends. Although there were a few new faces on the staff the service was still as good as ever. The food is second to none. First timers at the hotel often make the comment, that it's the best food they have ever had at an all inclusive hotel, and the waitresses/waiters are so helpful and attentive. If you have any special dietary needs speak with George or Yanis the hotel chefs and they will sort it The new mattresses on the sunbeds are the envy of the guests from other hotels when they see them as the walk along the coastal path. The entertainment team were brilliant putting on some good shows every night in the new theatre as well as running the activities during the day, wish I had as much energy. And just to prove a point, we have already booked up for next year.
