Renovated in 2011, this beachside hotel is on the outskirts of Paphos. Only a five minute drive from the resort's busy harbourside centre, and within easy walking distance of local shops and restaurants, the Iberostar Ledra Beach has an ideal beach location.
Me and my husband stayed here in September for our honeymoon.
We booked the hotel in a TUI shop in August - just before we got married. The woman we booked it with was very nice and helpful, I explained that we wanted it to be an extra special place as it was our honeymoon, because of Covid we couldn't pick anywhere but were quite open to where we would go - as long as it was somewhere hot...
She showed us this hotel (Louis Ledra Beach) and I asked a number of times if it was definitely a 4*+ as (because sometimes in some countries a 4* isn't what you'd expect for a 4*) she assured me it was and explained it was also a TUI platinum hotel and that she had other customers return to it often.
When we arrived at the hotel we were really underwhelmed. It looked a lot more dated then the photos and not the 4*+ we were promised.
When we got to our room, I was even more disappointed and even started to get upset (which I have to say I'm a very positive person and wouldn't usually moan about things like that but just wanted it to be perfect as we'd saved up and dreamed of a great honeymoon- like anyone else would).
Other than the disappointment of the room/ hotel look and feel in general, I have to say the staff were all so lovely and helpful. The outside area was also lovely and it was fantastic having its own beach.
When we got there we also found out that the hotel had only been open a couple of days (since before covid) so in the evening when they had entertainment on there were only a few people in the audience watching which meant less of an atmosphere and the entertainment had to be changed (from "game show" to bingo - which I have to say was the longest game of bingo of my life haha) so that wasn't great, but later in the week the hotel became more full and it was a bit better in the evening.
Food in the hotel was okay. Again not 4* (I mean who has shepherds pie on gourmet night? haha) but very clean in the eating areas, lots of staff around tidying up around everyone.
We have both said we would definitely go back to Cyprus/ Paphos and would definitely recommend it to anyone - however if you're looking at staying at this hotel just make sure you don't get your hopes up for a luxury hotel like we did.
I did make a complaint to TUI but they said because the average rating for the hotel is 4+ that they aren't taking it further, which obviously we are not happy about as we feel we were mis sold.
I'd give the hotel a rating of 2.5* if it was an option... but just didn't feel it deserved 3* with the disappointment we had.
Just returned from a lovely Relaxing week. Perfect From the moment we arrived greeted with a beautiful array of drinks and nibbles. Rooms are Very clean and tended to everyday...
Buffet was amazing wide range of soup salads and main and desserts which we never tired of as the choice and quality was always amazing. Niki especially in the dining room always greeted us with a warm Welcome. Will definitely return. Thankyou so much for a fantastic stay.
Just returned from 2 weeks here. Had a lovely time, Paphos is a lovely place and the hotel is well placed on the beach front. The beach is soft sand but you take your life in to your own hands getting in and out of the sea as it’s rocks and pebbles - take beach shoes! There are plenty of water sports to try at extra cost and also bikes to hire...
The hotel was clean, bright and spotless. The staff was really attentive and made sure everything was clean and your needs taken care of. The pool was cold and needed heating at this time of year. There was plenty of sun beds and towels were provided so that was good. The female life guard was a bit dramatic, blowing her whistle and shouting at people for minor things - she was friendly enough but people were made to feel like naughty school kids for simply sitting at the poolside on the wooded area. The food in the main restaurant wasn’t great to be honest, there was plenty of choice and there was theme nights but the quality was lacking. The puddings were immense though and we thoroughly enjoyed them! The pool bars were good and the snack had a good selection of food, you could also order hot food and it was always freshly made and piping hot. The entertainment team were lovely, Hazel, Hannah and Lizzie were amazing. They worked so hard and always had the time to speak with everyone and get them involved in the activities, we had such a laugh with them but they really needed a few more helping hands. The indoor entertainment was ok, local singers who you could dance/sing along with however they weren’t the islands shining stars of the future!! We had a great time and met some lovely people.
This was our first visit to the hotel. All of the staff were superb, especially the dining room/outdoor cafe bars staff under the very friendly Manager, the Entertainments team - especially Hannah and Lizzie, the Reception ladies, the Bar staff and of course our room Cleaner. The whole of the hotel was spotless and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff at the Louis Ledra...
It felt very safe because of the Covid requirements put in place by the hotel. The standard of the meals and drinks was excellent. Our Tui Rep, Diane, was extremely helpful and friendly. We shall be happy to return and would like to say a big Thank You to all for making our 1st holiday post Covid a great success.
Great hotel, staff, food and location. Our room attendant Violet was amazing and kept our room very clean and tidy and always went out of her way to say hello. Buffet was fabulous with different theme everyday, the staff in restaurant were great I even watched them help an elderly lady getting her dessert for her. The cocktails were great definitely try the White Russian and the Iced coffee with baileys. We hope come back again soon
