We have now been coming to the Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel for the past three years, and every visit has been just as enjoyable as the last. It really feels like a home away from home, and the staff are a huge part of what makes this hotel so special.
The entertainment team this year has been absolutely fantastic. Jamie, the Entertainment Manager, and his entire team are genuinely the best we have ever experienced at any hotel. They work incredibly hard, are always friendly and welcoming, and put so much effort into making sure everyone has a brilliant time. All the girls on the entertainment team deserve a special mention too — they were amazing and brought so much energy and fun every day. Kieran, the male vocalist, was also fantastic and really added to the evening entertainment.
There are so many other members of staff who deserve recognition. Jenny on the bar was always lovely and welcoming, and Romanie in the restaurant was fantastic and always made us feel so welcome. Michael, the Food Manager, also deserves a big thank you for all his hard work and for helping make the dining experience so enjoyable.
We were staying on the B floor, and although unfortunately we don't know the name of our cleaner, she was absolutely fantastic. She always greeted us with a smile and was so friendly and welcoming every time we saw her. She did a wonderful job and really deserves to be recognised.
After three years of returning to the Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel, we can honestly say that the staff are what make this place so special. From the entertainment team to the bar, restaurant, food management and housekeeping, everyone goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome.
A huge thank you to everyone for another fantastic holiday. We can't recommend the Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel highly enough, and we're already looking forward to coming back again
A fantastic week spent at this lovely hotel! The staff and the food make this hotel that little bit extra special. Everyone is there to make your holiday the best it can be, so friendly, caring and welcoming.
The food is easily of a 5* hotel, so much variety, fresh, replenished consistently. If food is one of your top criteria for a good holiday, this place is for you!
The building itself does need a little TLC in places, decorating, little replacements etc but certainly didn’t spoil our time here.
The pools and water slides are fantastic - such a great idea to have one pool for floats, music, games and entertainment and the other clear of all of that for a more relaxing swim.
Thanks for a wonderful stay! 🌟
Hotels appearance is lovely. Rooms are a little dated and could do with an upgrade. There’s a small hairdryer, a chargeable safe and the fridge is stocked with water only. There’s a laundry room on Level 3 with payable washing machines/dryers and one iron which is free to use.
The staff and cleaners are lovely, friendly and helpful, and the staff down by the waterfront are lovely too. The food is nice, although for a 4★ I expected more choice. Poolside food is quite repetitive — nuggets, wedges, chips, veg, sandwiches, yoghurt, salad, Chinese and ice cream.
The White Party was great fun, but otherwise entertainment was the biggest let-down for us, especially as there’s very little for teenagers. Some teens ended up organising their own football games. The slides and pool area also close for around two hours at lunchtime.
The beach directly outside is rocky, with a sandy beach a short walk away, and watersports are literally on the doorstep. You can also hire a fishing rod down by the waterfront — we gave it a go but didn’t catch anything! 🎣 The 611 bus stops literally outside the hotel and takes you to the Tombs of the Kings, which is really handy.
If travelling with TUI, I definitely recommend the Zoo & Blue Lagoon excursion — a fantastic day out, although parts of the zoo could do with updating. The parrot show was lovely.
There were ants around the hotel and we had some black beetles in our first room (not cockroaches). When they appeared again on day two, the hotel moved us and we had no further problems.
Tip: bring plenty of your own suncream and aftersun as they’re expensive to buy there and it’s HOT 🥵 😍
Overall, we had a nice stay and there are lots of positives, especially the lovely staff and cleaners. With some updates to the rooms, more food variety and more for teenagers to do, particularly in the evenings, it could be a much better 4★ experience.
Had a fantastic experience.. lovely hotel with amazing facilities... The food was amazing with a wide range of selection to suit all ... staff was all polite and considerate.. a special mention to Ahmed who went above and beyond even helping put our cases on our transfer as we was leaving.. we will be definitely returning...
Fantastic stay at Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel, which my family really enjoyed!
Excellent water slides, good swimming pools and an attractive setting.
The staff do a great job, with attentive and personable lifeguards and bar staff. The cleaners work so hard, as do the entertainment staff; who are all brilliant and truly made the holiday for our family.
The Entertainment Team works day and night, showing their impressive talents and performing with a smile, even in the very hot weather! They are also very friendly and make so much effort, spending time speaking to many families. We will remember them all! Grace, Rihannon, Amy, Hannah, Artemis, Jamie, Lindon, Kieron and Alex = super entertainment!!
The restaurant staff also work very hard and it surprised me how excellent the food was, it was really nice!
When my children were ill for one day, the reception staff were very attentive, helpful and often checking how they were; which is very important to us.
Outside the hotel, I liked the beach, although was a little far to walk to the sandy area and the nearby harbour was great fun during the beer festival.
In terms of improvements, the hotel corridors and carpets seem a little dated, although this is not that important to us, as the main hotel areas are nice and modern and majority of the time was spent by the pool and in the restaurant. Our room was probably a little small for a family of four, but again, we were not there that often and you can probably book a bigger room. The Chariots Nightclub area downstairs was also a little dated, although the performances were so good that this wasn't too much of an issue either.
Thank you Louis Phaethon for a brilliant holiday, we loved it! :-)
