GREAT STAFF, LOVELY FOOD, BUT

Review by brill1 somerset

The worst bathroom I have ever come across, just look at the pictures. A shower curtain that sticks to you, rotten door frame, no toilet roll holder and no accessory shelf. I complained to reception about this and also about the almost constant smell of cannabis outside...

This really did spoil what would have been a great holiday. A note to anyone going to the Mayfair Gardens, if you are offered room 5137 refuse it immediately. We thought that the food was above average and so were the drinks. The food was a bit on the cool side which wasn’t helped by the plates being cold. The waiting staff were excellent as were the bar staff, all very friendly. I would especially like to mention 2 of the entertainment staff, Cristianos and Nanook, good luck in your new jobs. The 2 main pools were of a reasonable size and the one nearest our room had nice gardens. The sun beds were a bit on the flimsy side.
The hotel although inland was quite well situated. A new large shopping mall, Kings Avenue is a short 5 minute walk away. Pathos harbour is about a mile away and Pathos beach and coastal path is about ¾ of a mile away. To get there go past the mall to the dual carriage way and turn right.
I would say this hotel is only suitable for families with young children, there is nothing there for teenagers.

Cheap break

Review by BRhereford Hereford, United Kingdom

We booked this holiday as a last minute Easter break, we booked to stay at the Mayfair gardens which we found out on arrival is the same as the Mayfair hotel. We arrived early hours in the morning and on arrival check in was quick. We stayed in room 5444 which was big but basic...

The pool area was clean and found we could always get a sun bed even mid afternoon when we returned from a day out which is good. Pool towels aren’t provided so be sure to take your own.

Pool was cold as not heated we went and brought our 8 year old a swim top to keep warm which helped. The water park for the children was really good.

The all inclusive was the worst I’ve experienced, water isn’t provided and has to be paid for as an extra, we brought some from the shop and put it in the fridge but I’ve never had this before, The breakfast was the best meal of the day, my son had pancakes and chocolate sauce all week but there is a lot of choice. Lunch and evening meals are basic, not a lot of salad options and food was never hot just warm, we did eat out 5 nights of our stay which I would recommend if you wanted to try lovely food.

Drinks Were ok but very watered down, the wine was drinkable and so was the beer.

Ice creams only served for a few hours a day which didn’t please my son but you could buy other ice creams from the bar.

Sockets in the hotel are British so don’t worry about travel plugs

We hired a car for 3 days and the hotel has a car park opposite so worth doing, the hotel is about a 15min walk to the harbour or €10 each way and is worth visiting in the day and evening.

All in all the hotel acted as a good base to go and explore but I wouldn’t choose all inclusive.

Mayfair gardens great for families

Review by cheryl995 Rhodes, France

We recently stayed here as a family of 4. Great location for the harbour, the mall and the archeological sites. The hotel was clean , the food was great with lots of options and themed nights...

The restaurant manager George was amazing and helped me when I wasn’t well. In fact he was so helpful he should run the hotel 😂 The pools were good and plenty for the kids to do ages 9 and 13.

Mayfair Gardens excellent

Review by sharkydiver reading

Well I read a few reviews about this place. All I can say is the following. The food was excellent. The staff were excellent...

In particular Mr George the restaurant manager went above and beyond his duties to assist us when my wife was Ill by providing custom food she required.
The rooms are comfortable. Not lavish but certainly do the job. We had a pool view room and it was just what the doctor ordered . Great to sit on the balcony with our kids. Really worth every star especially Mr George the restaurant manager.

Family holiday last min booking

Review by christG6685DB Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

Positive: Children pool area in the gardens is lovely clean Lots of sun beds Children’s pool is close to the toilets and pool bar Pool is not heated but my 14 month old got in and loved it abit chilli to start then it’s fine
Room was fine basic nothing fancy cleaners cleaned 6/7 days We liked the size of the complex not to big

Negative: All-inclusive package was very very basic most basic I’ve been to and I’ve been to a lot Ice cream on cones for 2 hours a day and have to q they scoop it for you and it’s melting as they are doing it lol Lots of meat choice 1 fish choice and it’s always labelled ‘ fish’ if you like your fish do not do all-inclusive Fruit and salad was so basic only 3 fruits of fresh bananas apples and huge oranges Advertises the kids buffet but but it’s 2 things per night on Greek night there wasn’t no children choice for English food Soft Drinks very watery we don’t really drink alcohol so can’t comment on that Snacks bar was very very basic and timings again was poor for it 10:30-12 Indoor pool YUK!

Would I come back hmmm I would if it was very very cheap deal but not all-inclusive again!! For us the weather and pool area/design made it
