Lovely hotel and staff

Review by O2328BZhannahf

Had a great 1 week stay here. The food and drinks were to a good standard for the a 3* hotel. There was always a selection of meats, salads, potatoes, pasta along with other items...

We tried a few of the spirts and the local beer/wine and all were to a good standard considering the star of hotel.

The rooms whilst a little dated were perfectly adequate and cleaned regularly. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious so it was ideal for a weeks stay.

The bar staff, restaurant staff and reception staff worked so hard to make your stay a good one and we could not fault them.

On the last day we had to check out at 12 however our flight did not leave until 10pm. The reception staff were lovely and gave us towels and let us use the spa showers and changing rooms after a day at the pool and stored our cases for us.

If you are looking for a nice hotel with lovely staff within walking distance of everything in Paphos then you will not be disappointed. This was a cheap break away and I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and facilities.

Ok for the price we paid

Review by Aimee M Bury, United Kingdom

Me & my partner stayed here between the 3rd October and the 9th. It was a last minute trip as our holiday we had booked had been cancelled. We have been to Paphos before and knew the area roughly...

The hotel is in a great location, a 5 minute walk to the beach & about 10/15 minute walk to the harbour which is beautiful & close to most restaurants and amenities. We had room number 114. The rooms are quite basic but clean. The rooms had air con which worked fine, a tv which had a Netflix option which was perfect for us as there was limited English channels. There was a safe in the room which was an extra charge of €1.50 per day which we never used, we just locked valuables in our suitcase. The roof outside our room was leaking which was causing the roof to bow in the middle which could of been quite unsafe, we mentioned this to reception who said they would take a look at it but continued to leak. All of the staff were friendly and polite & were helpful, the entertainment team worked tirelessly to try and get people involved but it was very quiet when we were there that not many people wanted to get involved with daytime activities. We had a couple of shows in the evening a Greek singer & a fire show which was great this was followed by games of bingo. I’m hoping that during busier times it’s a little more lively. The food was ok, there wasn’t much selection, we went as an all inclusive basis, my fiancé can be quiet a fussy eater and tried some stuff but didn’t eat very much, we found we ate out more often than not. We also found that lunch time had better variety than in an evening. The pool area was nice, plenty of sun beds available. The pool could of done with a clean and some of the tiles were a little loose, my fiancé caught his foot on one of them. We never used the indoor pool or the gym but they were there if needed. We did however notice during the day in the stairwell there was a very strong smell of petrol, I don’t know where it was coming from but it only appeared in the day. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the paphos gardens hotel, for the price we paid and the amount of time we were in the room is was just what we needed. Staff were lovely but the hotel itself could do with a bit of an update, modernisation and potentially a general maintenance. Thanks for a lovely getaway. If you want cheap and cheerful this is the perfect place for you!

Beautiful Cyprus

Review by georgiew0

A much needed holiday after COVID-19, we spent 8 days here. We had an apartment away from the hotel and was surprised at how big it was, upstairs and downstairs with two good size bedrooms, full size kitchen and lounge dinner. Netflix on the TV so bonus...

Hotel staff very friendly and welcoming. Two outdoor pools and one indoor. Couldn't fault area and location. Didn't eat at the hotel as we were self-catering and ate at local restaurants. The only gripe I have is the cleaning service, we had to empty our own poop bins as they were left at one point for 3 days without anyone coming in, Didn't have a problem with this just thought they would have been daily. Cleaning in general was very slack and not really covid conscious as we could see it hadn't really been cleaned before we got there and when they did come in we could see cleaning was minimal. We did have plenty of clean towels. Could do with a broom and dustpan in there as I don't mind running a broom around myself. Didn't see much evidence of pool cleaning and plates and cups were left for 4 days before being removed at the side of the pool. I understand that things are still getting back to normal and may have been short staffed, I would recommend and gladly go back again. Met some lovely people and beautiful country with amazing food. We had the experience of outside ovens and freshly baked bread beautiful. Thank you for a much needed break.

Good hotel, great food, amazing value.

Review by Curious20706488380 Wolverhampton, United Kingdom

Had a brilliant all-inclusive week at this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful, location good, great pool area with plenty of beds but best thing is the food. Nearly didn’t book all inclusive but it is amazing value for money...

As long as you’re not after pizza and chips, as all of the food is excellent quality, freshly cooked, mainly traditional Cypriot food with alternatives such as pasta and a different range of salads every sitting. Close to a lovely beach. Bars and restaurants nearby but spent most evenings in Old Town and harbour area where they are generally nicer, especially in the Old Town. Will definitely return.

3* room, 4* location - Cheap and cheerful but the beds are AWFUL

Review by Tony B Exeter, United Kingdom

Two of us went with Jet2 and upgraded from the normal room to a one bed suite. When we got there they actually gave us a two bed suite which was excellent. You do need the space I think - it's cheapish to upgrade so I'd recommend that straight away.

I'll start with the bad first:

Cheap single mattresses, hard, low to the ground. Pillows terrible. I don't know if they offer extra pillows - thankfully there were were the two extra on the bed we weren't using but even so they were terrible. Couldn't get them cold. Just about lasted the week but a fortnight would have been unmanageable. 2) Some prat with a diesel leaf blower starts up at like 8am some mornings. Right outside the window. I know they work early because of hot middays, but that's a bit bloody stupid. The cleaners were also a bit keen - there was no DND sign and they ignored the home-made one. 3) Other reviews about aircon leaking are totally correct. After 5 mins mine was squirting like a... well, you know. TBH just using it on fan mode worked a lot better and kept you berably cool in the evening - also having the door open during the day helps cool the place down.

Now the good.

  1. Excellent location. Couple mins from the beach, restaurants and a mini-market. Easy access to the main routes. Very quiet. Very very quiet.
  2. Cats. If you like cats, get your fill. They're all over the place. They are all friendly and all just after attention. Feed them if you want. I ended up with 4 in the room sleeping in various places at one point. And they are all in really good condition. Not like most places, you;d think they all have homes. Everyone puts food and water out. You will fall in love, but honestly, I think they prefer getting fat off visitors than living in the rainy and cold UK!!
  3. Bats. Right outside the room was a date palm. I could sit on the patio and watch fruit bats feed all evening. Plus other bats. And some owls as well.
  4. The room is actually nice. Basic, but nice otherwise. The fridge is good, the sofa is fine, the whole thing is fine for the cost.

VERDICT: 3.5/5. If you can stand the beds then go for it. Kids will probably love it. If you have back problems then give it a miss but if you pass out quickly then knock yourself out. It's like staying in a cat cafe
