My family and i were looking forward to visiting this resort after seeing some videos on youtube and reading other reviews. I had booked a room for the 3 of us and had asked in advance for 2 single beds rather than 1 double bed but this was not possible, as it was my childrens birthday on day of arrival i had requested some cake but this wasn't possible all in all maybe it was too much of a problem to get these things but i was kind of gutted at this. Staying with me were my son and daughter, my daughter noticed it first where the bathroom door had no lock and it was glazed window so privacy was limited, t.b.h its the first time i've seen this in a hotel. I did ask at reception the following morning if we could get a different room but she said all rooms had this arrangement. Activity wise there wasn't that much to do on site for me and my family for an all inclusive package deal, the water in the pools was cold , the deepest pool they had was 1.40m depth, had a big jacuzzi in the centre but again water was cold. The place does have a gym , a bit small , some decent equipment like free weights and a technogym bike. You do get 1 free meal at a choice in one of the a la carte restaurants, we chose la trattoria, food was ok , a bit salty but ok. The main restaurant 'Thalassa' was very tired looking lots of mismatched furniture, seats were cushioned but some had drinks stains, plus getting in and out of the area was a bit claustraphobic. For lunch and evening meals you had to order soft drinks which when arrived were served in 1/3 pint glasses so you ha dto drin k sparingly as getting a second you sometimes had to wait for, at one meal we gave up waotong for the second as it had been 10 minutes since ordering. The food wasn't 5 star, the fish was prepared fresh i had the cod fillet one day but it had a few bones in it so i avoided that. There was always spaghetti and beef bolognese or just plain sauce, but i found there wasn't much in the way of choice for the main meals. The 'asian night' they had chicken tikka (it looked like raosted chicken cooked in a tikka paste, there were 2 trays with a heap of cooked chicken under selophane and a tray of tikka paste it wasn't very appetising. Some of the food was tasteless in the end i stuck with fries and breaded chicken/pork. They had a good selection of desserts for lunch and evening meals. They had a show which started at 9pm and finished at 10.30pm and there was no way of getting an early night until the show had finished. There seemed to be no closing times for the pools as once the lifeguards had left (around 5pm) children were seen diving off rocks in to the pools which all seemed a bit unsafe and wasn't allowed. The water park had a limited number of single rings and duos so on the first 3 visits my and my kids lost interest, the lifeguards were good at their jobs though on constant alert. The games room consisted of 2 pool tables which haven't been looked after and cost 2 euros a game and an air hockey table. The on site shop was very expensive! As well as the room tax you pay on arrival (15 euros a night!) On some positive notes, the ice cream outlet was awesome as well as the bar that gave out slushies. The cleaners did an excellent job in not just cleaning the room but putting things in order, they were brilliant. I think if you have a family with small children then this place would work.
We had an excellent stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout and all of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was very spacious, with sliding doors and a partial sea view, and the cleaning was excellent throughout our stay. The beds were comfortable, although a little soft and slightly squashed together.
The real highlight for us was the pool area. There were so many different pool options and loads of sunbeds – we never struggled to find one at any point during our stay. The infinity pool and swim-up bar were wonderful, and sitting in the pool spotting the boats out at sea was such a lovely part of the holiday.
The food was also excellent. We tried both the Greek and Asian restaurants and thought they were wonderful, with fantastic service from the restaurant staff. We didn’t get a chance to try the Italian restaurant.
The kids’ club was another huge positive. Our children loved going and the staff were so friendly and kind, with loads of good activities to keep them entertained. The daytime and evening entertainment was great for both children and adults, and it was clear how hard the entertainment team worked throughout the day running different activities.
We also used the spa and had a wonderful massage. The gym was clean and well maintained and a great additional facility to have.
A special mention to Fontini at the concierge, who was so helpful and even organised a ride on a golf cart for our transport-mad son, which absolutely made his day!
Overall, we had a brilliant holiday. A lovely, clean and welcoming hotel with excellent staff, great food, fantastic pools and plenty for families to do. We’d very happily return.
Great experience at the hotel. Was perfect for kids (9 and 6) and really couldn't ask for more. Ash and the animation team were particularly great, but all the staff were friendly and worked so hard. It was exactly what you would want for an all inclusive family holiday and I can't recommend it enough.
The room was kept clean, yet there were three separate occasions where I spotted roaches: one in the shower 3 days into the trip, one alive in the bathroom 6 days in, and one dead behind a suitcase on the last day. Disgusting. I shouldn't have to deal with roaches myself when staying at a hotel I've paid for. Looking at the other reviews, I'm surprised nobody else seems to have mentioned this problem. Even if it was caused by the heat, I've been to hotter places and never spotted roaches, so I don't think the heat is a good excuse. Even though the rest of the room was OK, the roaches alone brought my rating down to one star. Please be cautious and check your room if you're planning on staying here. The area itself isn't too bad, with a beach nearby and some nice restaurants.
We had a brilliant 7 nights here.
Food is excellent, hot tasty and varied, we enjoyed the themed nights. Rooms and pool areas are very clean. Several pools so you can choose to be near the animation team with the loud music or in the quieter area by the infinity pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. Waterpark is fun for young children, older kids and adults Beach is accessed by using a gate at the side of the hotel, it’s a public beach so you have to pay for sunbeds but there’s loads of space if you just want to put a towel on the sand. No sunbed wars, we always found a space My massage in the spa was the best and very reasonably priced. Location is good - things to do nearby: water sports, 45min bus to Rhodes old town, climb Kolymbia rock, Tsambika beach.
Only niggles would be the house wine isn’t great and the dining room is looking a bit tired but the food itself is excellent
Would definitely recommend
