Rhodes

The elegant city hotel Agla is perfectly situated in a quiet area of Rhodes town, just 50 metres from the beach and within a 5-minute walk of the city centre with numerous nightlife spots. The renovated hotel offers rooms with pool or sea views as well as a variety of excellent services and amenities such as a wood-decked terrace surrounding the pool. Attractions such as the Aquarium, the Casino or the shopping area are just a short stroll away; the marina, the medieval city and the Temple of Apollo are within walking distance. An ideal choice for business guests and holidaymakers alike.

Never again definitely not 4 star

Travelled Greece for years and been to Rhodes 4 times this has to be the worst experience of all, We were dropped off by the transfer on the main road as the bus could not access the hotel walked up a dark road and eventually found the hotel, in the window is a board with photos advertising the hotel nearly all the photos on there were not photos of the hotel even the pool was different, on checking in I was asked to pay an extra €10 per night for both rooms if we wanted a sea view which I did, we were told where the rooms where and proceeded to the lift when a member of staff ran from behind the desk saying don't use that lift you will fall to your death as it was a hollow shift with no lift fitted, when we got to the rooms my heart sank as Iooked at the 'sea view' a block of derelict crumbling buildings infront with a shimmer of sea over the top, Spoke to neighbouring guests who did not pay the extra €10 per night per room! When asking at the desk the lady shrugged her shoulders and said they may not remember paying the extra?? The hotel had building work happening, the carpets were stained throughout the hotel, there were not enough sun loungers, the air conditioning was fixed after 4 days, and we spent the week at different hotels to get away from the noise and mess. Had a lovely time in Rhodes but was spoiled by the hotel and its so called '4 Star rating ' absolutely is not 4 star. I have videos of the constant drilling but unable to upload on here

Agla not arte.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, superbly situated close to beech and a short stroll from the bars and restaurants. rooms on the small side but perfect for a base . Hotel now called the Agla and the photos don’t show how it looks now with new pool and dining area since it’s recent refurbishment would advise new photos be taken to give an accurate representation. Nothing but good things to say about this hotel , we are 5 days in on a 10 day stay , very happy .

Not a 4 Star Hotel

The Hotel is OK but definitely not 4 stars. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. Cookie and Angela well done. We upgraded to Seaview room which was lovely. The air conditioning was working well and room made over daily. The pool area was a bit of a disaster as the beds were falling apart and umbrellas weren't functioning well either Breakfast was good but we would go down after 9am so foods weren't replenished as breakfast finished at 10am. There are much better hotels in the area which I would recommend doing good research b4 booking. I'm sorry to say we wouldn't return to this Hotel despite the staff being particularly pleasant.

Excellent Experience

Initially we thought we had been scammed? We had not looked at the address correctly - Note: Always double check address! Once we found the hotel, we were more than pleased. It’s very clean and recently refurbed, we were on the 5th floor with a sea view. In the room was a complimentary bottle of water, wine and a basket of fruit. The facilities in the room were excellent, complimentary soap, shampoo, comb, shoe shine kit, luxury dressing gowns, slippers, hair dryer, a fridge to keep your drinks cold. The shower was really good, too. The included breakfast was amazing, the only thing missing was spaghetti? So, you could have full English OR continental OR both. The staff were really helpful, especially Angela (an Australian lady) and the young gentleman who worked in the afternoon, Paneros??? Sorry if I have this wrong. They made the stay memorable The best thing about the hotel is it’s walking distance to the Old Town and there is a bus stop near by to get you to the airport - 3.5 Euro each. A taxi would have been 32 Euro minimum. Overall, a surprisingly excellent experience. We will be going again

Decent hotel

Stayed here for 9 nights in a sea view double room. Room was very nice, bed extremely comfortable, decent shower and reasonably sized balcony with a lovely view. Air conditioning worked very well.

Hotel nicely located to Akti Kanari Beach which is a minutes walk away. Supermarket opposite and number of restaurants/bars literally couple of minutes away.

Pool was lovely and the luxury loungers (5 euros for day) well worth it. As some of the previous reviewers have said some of the pool side beds are broken which is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. The pool area has changed and would say for the better (photo attached).

Plenty of choice at breakfast with restaurant being well laid out. Reception area and bar area recently renovated.

All members of staff were very helpful and always willing to assist/answer queries.

The carpets in the walkways to rooms need replacing but no big deal and there are one or two minor things for the hotel to finish off.

Would not hesitate to recommend staying in this hotel.
