Third stay in 10 years and this hotel is still keeping standards, even after the pandemic. We might go again this year.

We stayed In Electra Palace three times in the last 10 years..... Last week, 3rd stay, was no exception to the high standards that this hotel exemplifies. Food was again exceptional, with regard for allergies and three restaurant's offering waiter service on the all inclusive booking in addition to the main buffet dinning experience...

Five star drinks included offering branded spirits and the standard local beer and wine. Even after pandemic staff loses Electra have attracted some amazing new staff who should be praised and proud for their amazing service and candour, showing that we can still have service with a smile when the service industry worldwide is suffering big loses to dedicated staff. This hotel is well worth a visit for this alone but to expand, the surrounding have been updated and there is a new experience every night on a week visit. We could go from bar to bar and restaurant to restaurant and feel like we had a village experience every day, different seat was a different view throughout the day. Special thanks to Eastern Mediterranean Restaurant staff, Emmanuel (Μανωλης Ελε) and team , including my favourite chef of the hotel who was serving the best ouster mushrooms i have ever tasted :) Special thanks also to service team members, Suzanne from Slovakia and Isaac from Sweden who made our stay feel like the Electra 5 star hug treatment. Amazing hotel even though we didn't get the view we had on the first two visits as promised. Next time maybe :)

Good but some room for improvemnt

My mum & i visited for 1 week. The hotel is perfectly clean and of a good standard. However, some improvements can be made...

The buffet food is just OK. Perfectly edible but a bit repeatative. Small things like serving pasta in water and not offering a slotted spoon to serve so ending up with water on plate, sounds petty but things like this distinguish 5star hotels from the rest. The activity schedule is repetitive. The exact same class in morning and afternoon every day. The leaders kept splashing water over my head despite me making it clear i didn’t want to be splashed (i don’t want to have to wash my hair every day!) Evening entertainment is poor. Jazz by the pool and some other poor acts. The best evening was a music quiz. Obtaining clean pool towel is made tricky as they are given out by the room cleaners so you have to time it to catch them.

The good points are that the 3 al la carte restaurants are to a really high standard, but unfortunatly you can only book 2 of them once during your stay. The greek restaurant is really good, thoroughly recomend. We were not informed that we can obtain a packed lunch when on day trips.

Service is generally good and staff are friendly.

Great hotel

Review by prakashp450 Dunstable, United Kingdom

No welcome drinks. No food on arrival. Due to late arrival. No iron apart from laundry service which is day light robbery. Holes in towels...

All resolved. Bath room doors don't lock due to security they have done this as they had an incident hence the change on there locking of bathrooms. Acceptable. We had booked 2 x twin room for my friends and I. Fruit provided in the room. Bathroom is good and showers nice. Minibar stocked with one beer and several soft drinks. Overall the hotel and the staff are very hard working and good, they are always happy to help. The inhouse Entertainment team were good the girls and boy, Amine, Matheus, Chineme and Dora kept us busy. great volly ball sessions, water polo, darts, baules, aquagym. Food is very good with themed nights and Street food parties. External entertainment in the hotel is themed and good and is on every night. You have two other restaurants Italian and Asian fusion which you have to reserve. Fod is exceptional in both restaurants. The do lunch in the Italian, Rooms are small we had a main resturant and the gyro resturant, the food and quality are really good.

The down points on this hotel is the noisy cricket chirping all day but quiet at night. The aeroplane path is above the hotel so you will here and see the plans approx a plane every 5 to 10 mins an hour. Overall hotel is and was a good find. I wouldn't say the standards meet a 5 star but a 4 star. Would I come back that would be a yes. However if you don't mind that noise it's all good. There some issues with roo. Which were catered for and remediate just after a call. Very quick service.

Lovely hotel but improvements could be made

We have just returned from a week stay at Electra Palace, we had a lovely time with great weather and lovely food. This is a great resort if you are looking for a quiet holiday, I would say it is more for the older generation than the younger. When we arrived on Saturday we were greeted by a lovely receptionist, we weren't warned about the local tax that we had to pay but it was only 28 euros...

We arrived at nearly 11 pm and did request some food as we had been travelling since 2pm, however, this was not possible and we were told that there was no where around where we could get anything.

We found the breakfast lovely and there were lots to chose from, lunch became a bit repetitive and so did dinner, I was fine eating the food however my partner did sometimes struggle to find food he liked so a few times we went out for dinner (lots of lovely restaurants in Ialisos which was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel with lots of lovely little shops and bars (we would definitely recommend kostas village taverna)

We found the all inclusive drinks great, although some comments have said they are branded, the ones we received were like Pimms and Absolute Vodka. Bar staff were lovely and very attentive.

The Italian restaurant food was also great I had the sea bass which was amazing and couldn't fault it!

The gym is at the bottom floor and not many people knew about it, there was also a spa and indoor swimming pool which we were unaware of until visiting the gym.

I would definitely recommend keeping the room on for an extra 64 euros if you have a late flight as we were told by other customers that they were only given 20 minutes between them to use the shower room and after the 20 minutes electricity when using the hairdryer turned off.

A few improvements:

  1. our balcony door on room 409 did not shut or lock, therefore it was left open most of the time, we were luckily on a high floor so didn't have to worry about anyone potentially getting in.

  2. On arrival we weren't given any water, we also did not receive water or tea-making facilities in our room until the third day. When we asked the bar for a bottle they said we would have to pay 2.90 euros. We ended up taking water from the restaurant and we also refilled it at the gym as they have a cold water machine.

  3. The lock on our door was faulty and therefore meant that the alarm would go off a few minutes after leaving and entering the room, it wasn't too loud but it was a bit of an inconvenience to try and sort.

  4. The pool entertainment got repetitive, there was water aerobics but it was the same every day and there wasn't much entertainment going on. In the evenings we would take walks along the beach which was lovely and we would have a little shop around.

All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Electra Palace, I wouldn't say it was a 5 star hotel as we have stay in 4 stars and had better/the same treatment. I would recommend this hotel

Lovely hotel

Weve just returned from the Electra resort.. After not travelling for two years,we were more than looking forward to our stay.We were not disappointed..Our room 408,was overlooking the pool, was a great view. The cleaning staff do a fantastic job..everything was extremely clean and fresh linen and towels daily..in fact everywhere was very clean, around the pool, gardens and dining room. The food was extremely tasty and varied a great deal. Something for everyone....

The tables were cleared efficiently and relaid as soon as possible.. The three restaurants, Mediterranean, Asian and Italian were lovely, at lunch time the Italian still had crisp linen on the tables.. Our favourite was a lunchtime Streetfood extravaganza, including jugglers, stilt walker etc..plus a fantastic Latin trio which I loved..The food was exceptional. The pool is just great, and my favourite staff were the two girls doing water aerobics twice a day.. Lots of sunbeds around we particularly liked being under some olive trees for shade. The beach is mainly stony, but lots of Greek beeches are,we took paddle shoes,so was fine...Great time watching the windsurfers!.., Entertainment was a bit hit n miss to be honest..the best night was The Latin singers and dancers..We personally didn't see any kids disco, but as there were hardly any children there ,perhaps the disco wasn't on.. Maybe in the school hols there is.. The hotel is on a flight path, but we didn't mind them at all.You cannot hear them inside the hotel..

Our only slight criticism was..... Maybe more signage around,of where some things are, toilets around the pool, the spa etc.. The public areas ....toilets ,corridors to rooms etc could do with an update...(even though they were very clean) We would like to return sometime as Rhodes is lovely. I would recommend this hotel.
