Rhodes

This hotel is the perfect choice for a fabulous beach holiday and the chance to explore the third largest of the Greek islands and a popular spot with holidaymakers. After a day on the beach or by the poolside, guests can explore the many attractions, including Rhodes medieval town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ideally situated on Ixia beach, the hotel is just 6 km from Rhodes Town and 10 km from the airport. There are also many shops, traditional taverns and evening leisure options nearby. This delightful hotel offers guests comfortable accommodation in light, cool and spacious rooms with a balcony or terrace. Guests can relax by the pool, against the backdrop of the stunning Aegean Sea, before enjoying a delicious snack. The main restaurant serves a buffet breakfast including international and Greek specialities. The staff are on hand to offer friendly and professional service.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Good - room for improvement

Review by laurenmichelle22 Epsom, United Kingdom

Unfortunately we had flight troubles so didn't arrive till 1am. We let the hotel know in advance and they left us some sandwiches, cake and water in our fridge for our arrival. Lunch was the best meal of the day, if you visited the pool snack bar...

The gyros were lovely. Breakfast was the same every day but was nice. Dinner changed every night and they have themed nights. Entertainment was good, probably better for kids. Impossible to get a sunbed round the main pool, easier to get one at the quiet pool, although that ended up getting busy by the end of the week too. Reception staff can book taxis for you. These usually come within 5 minutes, however we were told to wait in the lobby as it would be half an hour for one to come available and they'd let us know when. When I checked after 20 minutes for an update, they said it had been and no one was outside to get in it. My advice: ask for your taxi number and wait on the steps outside. Cocktail choices were limited and the rest you had to pay for. The Pepsi machine kept breaking too. Location wise, Ixia was only 25 minutes to Faliraki water park and Naya beach club. It was also only 10 minutes to Old Town and Ronda beach restaurant (recommend!). Good pharmacy down the road too also with a really helpful pharmacist. Rooms had limited plug sockets, but this wasn't a massive problem. Levels 1-3 are refurbished however level 4 which we were on wasn't.

Avoid!!

Review by Flowered68 Yorkshire

I can’t believe TUI rate this hotel as 4*. It's 2*at best. Food is the worst I have had...

Labels are basic with no allergy information. Only choice of bread is white or brown sliced. The quality of the food is bad but the choice is even worse. Don’t come here if you are vegetarian. Same utensils used on meat and veggies. The pool bar awful, nice chips but some food very questionable. Beer terrible, cocktails sugary and soft drinks full of saccharine. The only cups/ glasses are the really flimsy plastic ones that end up all over the floor. No recycling/environmental policies here. Ice cream is cheap, in small plastic tubs and under padlock until allowed. No lollies at all. Had to eat out every day. Pool is smaller than it looks in photos and was packed. Not enough sun beds and you have to get up at 6am and sit on your beds until 9am (the lifeguard will take towels off). By 10am the very loud techno music starts although the music at least almost covers the road noise which is constant. You can taste and smell the diesel. Sun beds old, uncomfortable, broken and dirty. The wooden beds at the quiet pool are nicer but the mattresses are stained/dirty. Beach towels are thin and worn. We had a superior room with sea view. No drawers, 8 coat hangers and no toiletries, nowhere to even put your toothbrush. View is lovely but road noise and shocking entertainment ruin it.
I always check reviews and not sure how this hotel gets such praise.
Some nice restaurants but Ixia is very run down.

Fabulous family holiday

This hotel really pulls out the stops for their guests. Every staff member - hi to George and Demitri - is welcoming helpful and friendly. Reception pulled out all the stops for my birthday whilst there including a helium balloon!!! The rooms on 4 and 5 are waiting to be refurbished but other than a bit of a dodgy shower they were cleaned and had great storage...

Sea view was divine!! Only negative is the stony beach which is obviously no fault of the hotel. Met some great people and had mountains of fun! Would definitely return here 💕

Great hotel and nice area

We paid extra and stayed in a room with a sea view, and it didn't disappoint. The view was breath-taking. The rooms were cleaned daily by the brilliant cleaning staff, fresh towels daily, they work so hard and you can tell...

Place is spotless. All the staff keep the hotel in the best condition, they work tirelessly - top marks for all the staff. Even the poor fella over at the beach who mans the sunbeds for Oceanis, proper nice fella.. slip him a beer and get a thumbs up from him. I have to mention the gryos lady, wonderful gyros, salads and breads etc amazing but she can be quite moody and insists on serving on - which creates massive queues. Everywhere else is self service with food . In the end we found her moods quite amusing. Maybe get someone to help her, cos she is by herself.. on the subject of food if you are a meat/fish eater fill your boots here. However I am a veggie and was disappointed slightly that for every lunch /tea there was only 2 "veggie" main dishes.. even the lovely sides like cous cous, or pasta was loaded with additional meat, despite 3 other pasta dishes already having meat in them. This is the way all inclusive is, but I think if you have any major dietary requirements you may have to be mindful. I did see one couple getting shown the dishes they could have, and literally they went over to 2 or 3 dishes. The entertainment All That Jazz and Abba were brilliant, the entertainment team work so hard to have a balance and here it is good. I noticed a previous mention to the bar staff on the review - they remember your drinks even before you ask - I thought this was really nice feature that they remember and shows that this is a nice homely feeling hotel.. Also if any one fancies a game of mini golf with greek themed putts try the Farmhouse Pub - turn right outside the hotel - head down until you get around the pharmacy - just left around there.

Amazing hotel and exceptional staff

Review by Sarah M Tamworth, United Kingdom

Just got back from 2 amazing weeks. After arriving at 5am due to flight delays we were met by a big welcoming smile. Both rooms were on ground floor (1 garden and one sea view)...

Despite the rooms being right next to bar area and gate to tennis courts the rooms were quiet with doors shut. Food variety was good for all meals although we had the gazebo bar lunch with gyros and salads most days we were there. Evening entertainment was good with our favourites of All that Jazz and the Greek night with dancers. The hotel was kept clean in all public areas and rooms. We did some trips to rhodes Town via bus and taxi (€9-10 for family of 4 each way), yellow submarine, Palace of grand master and path of gods were great. Also did day trip to lindos with hire car.

Biggest plus for this hotel is the staff - all were amazing from helpful security, friendly domestics and the exceptional Dimitrios in the bar and Spyros in the restaurant and all their teams (especially Valentia who worked both areas). Entertainment team were great and really motivated and encouraged the kids/ teenagers especially Felix.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to come back in the future.
