Definitely not a 5 star and very misleading

My boyfriend and I went for an 11 night stay at the Ixian all suites. It was honestly the most stressful holiday and price we paid did not reflect the service we received.

From start to finish, it was awful...

We arrived and to our surprise the Ixian all suites is part of the Ixian Grand which was not advertised on the website. We arrived and lovely porter took our bags and just left them by the front door (we were not impressed). Got our keys and off we went. We booked a swim up premium double which was amazing however there was no storage for clothes, there was no wardrobe and 2 drawers for clothes and shoes. We went to the 'Guest Relations Executive' who said this is what you paid for and they had no complaints before. After a lengthy chat, we were offered an 'upgrade' the next day. We took it.

Next day arrives, move to the new room and everything seems great. It soon become apparent that this new upgraded pool gets no sun what so ever, so if you do book these rooms, make sure to view it first and see if it gets any sun as you would have wasted your money otherwise. We get to day 8 and huge thunderstorms arrive on the Island. Everybody stays in doors but our room is full of water by the front door!! Yes, of course there would be as there a giant crack on the outside which hasn't been fixed properly and it was leaking from underneath the wardrobe. We tell reception who have urgently asked us to move to another room. This is now our 3rd room. This room was great, we had full sun for about 5hrs and the room was better however the bathroom needs an upgrade.

I would recommend getting a car as taxis are not cheap. I would recommend checking the car thoroughly as the 1st car we got was literally falling apart. We drove a lovely car (clearly used and warn) on the first day driving at 80kph. We got to our destinations and back. Upon arrival back to the hotel, we noticed the front bumper was hanging off. We told the rental lady and she said 'we've known about this all summer and had no complaints'. We did not appreciate and insisted on having new car purely based on safety. We got a new one and enjoyed our trips to the island.

I would strongly avoid the buffet in Ixian Grand at 25 euros pp and the food is crap. I recommend going out into town with a short bus ride away and enjoy authentic Greek food.

The food in Ixian all suites is however very nice and if it was purely based on the food, we would go back.

Unfortunately, the money we spent was not worth it and will not be returning.

Mini Honeymoon Holiday

Me and my partner came in here on 6th until 13 of November. We are aware that it's the end of season so we knew it won't be busy. We've originally booked the Seaview room with hot tub...

The view was astonishing. We've upgraded our room to garden suite for extra €60 a night and it was worth it. The pool was cold but still manageable to have a swim. I could fault the room service and the a la carte restaurant. The food is amazing. At the beginning of the week there were still plenty of choice for buffet but by Saturday which was our last day. It was only salad dish, pizza and pasta were provided. All of the receptionist are ver helpful but Tina definitely stood up the most. She is very helpful and made us feel very welcome.

The only thing I wish they could have change is that inform us or the website that the spa heated swimming pool and sauna would be close. Also prior to us upgrading the room I wish they inform us that they were closing the alazonia restaurant on Thursday. We didn't get the notice until Thursday night when we went to reception to book.

Over all it was such an amazing experience and holiday.

Help with completing the PLF form for return to the UK.

I would like to take the opportunity of thanking the Guest Relations Executive - Meltem Otousbir - for her help in completing the Passenger Locator Form for my flight back to the UK. It was a bit of a learning curve for both of us but we finally managed on the third attempt! She remained very polite and helpful throughout . Thanks again for making life so much easier and less stressful.

Loved this hotel. Staff and hotel was amazing.

Enjoyed every moment of it and Meltom was so nice, she helped me with my proposal to make it such a special moment for myself and my Fiancée.

Thank you so much for such a unforgettable holiday.

Definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful ocean pool swim up suite.

Review by Tedsaway Bracknell, United Kingdom

This wasn’t a hotel that got it right first time, we had problems with the rooms and the food, but I think we had too high expectations ( used to 5* Asia), but once we relaxed and after excellent assistance from Meltem (Guest relations exec), then our holiday was very relaxed. The ocean pool swim up room was fabulous, and very quiet which was ideal. Care is needed when booking ( and perhaps book direct) to get a pool suite with a shower ( our first room just had a bath, which needed a step ladder to get in and out of ( not provided) . The rooms and resort were really clean and the maid service robust ( saying that as they just came in and got on with their job regardless of us). We were all inclusive, and although there were hiccups on the first night ( we did speak to the chef), the rest of the week was good...

The Greek restaurant was the best, and the speciality lamb was delicious, although we found we could not eat 3 courses most nights as the mains were large, but we found we could order a mix of starters and dessert and that suited us. We didn’t visit the main pool or the beach as they were quite crowded, we preferred our swim up pool, or the quiet pool in the back. One thing that would improve the hotel would be if they could make one of the outside bar areas smoke free, as we ended up taking drinks back to our patio to avoid this.
