Been going to Seabank for the past 7 years and before it was modernised always was a lovely hotel with professional staff and lovely atmosphere especially during the day near the pool and night in the dome with professional animations will recommend this hotel 100% soon will be waiting to go there soon.
The reality of this hotel is completely different to the website and social media photos.
You will spend your time queuing for everything all day long with no social distancing. In some respect the hotel has attempted to have measures in place for COVID by having hand sanitiser throughout and floor markings in the restaurant for distance, Staff wear masks but the majority of guests disregard this so you will continually have others quest standing right next to you as in right next to your face and some helping themselves to food. The staff do nothing to address this...
Even without the COVID situation I would not recommend this hotel, there is nothing relaxing or luxurious about it. The sun beds are crammed together, hundreds of wasps are everywhere at the pool areas, the pool area is so noisy with an extremely loud DJ blasting kids cheesy music all day which you can hear no matter which pool you are at.
The drinks and food are basic and low quality. There was a cockroach in the restaurant - so gross. I’ve been to many top all inclusive hotels in Greece, Mexico and the Caribbean and this is way below the mark. There is no waiter service, only one bar open which is catering for 3 pools so be prepared to stand in a long queue. Same in the restaurant, 20 minutes just to queue for an awful coffee, then another 20 mins of queuing for food. You will queue a long time to check in and check out and anytime you need to speak to reception be prepared to wait half an hour.
If you are concerned about COVID or areJust looking for high standard or relaxation this is not for you. We left early and found a much nicer hotel. The best part was leaving.
I've been staying on an all-inclusive, the last week of July. the hotel itself and its services lived up to expectations despite the inconvenience of COVID 19. quality meals and drinks...
various options in terms of variety in buffets, adequate and clean facilities all the time. maximum hygiene and courtesy on the part of its employees. ideal geographical situation. it does not take 5 stars due to the frequency, that is, the lack of a frightening level of 70% of its customers. the malts government gave incentives to its habitants to make holidays in the country. Result: a hotel full of obese people, without any level, without manners or education, poorly dressed and inconvenient. Malta has fantastic people but unfortunately only the "ignorant of the villages" adhered to this unfortunate proposal from the government.
We cut our stay short and checked out after one day. I was really shocked by what I found at the hotel as I had read all of the reviews here but if you read the reviews on fb it is more accurate for what to expect at the moment.
Firstly, although the hotel has followed government outlines and displayed stickers, posters, sanitiser, visors worn by staff etc none of this is enforced. There is no social distancing at reception, in restaurants, around the pool or while queuing...
Management need to insist guests do this. It didn't feel safe at all.
Most of the restaurants and bars were closed and they stated this was to help but all it did was create ridiculous queues for the one pool bar open. As it is All Inclusive and there are many day guests you can imagine how manic this was. Drinks are in small little cups so you need endless refills and the cups are disregarded around the pool area. Staff couldn't keep up with the tidy up required as it was so busy. There are swarms of wasps in all areas around the pool and as soon as you put a drink down 4 or 5 wasps were on it.
You need to book all meals but there was never availability for the a la carte restaurant. You are supposed dine at you allocated time and present your ticket but no one checks so guests turn up any time which results in massive queues for cooked breakfasts and in the evening. Staff are supposed to serve you but guests were helping themselves regardless. The staff seemed unable to cope with the number of guests so it was difficult to find a clean table. At lunchtime the Laguna pool restaurant was a free for all. There needs to be more presence from senior staff to ensure procedures are followed and take control of the situation.
After a day we decided that we would move hotels as this one was not hotel advertised on social media as promised. The photos of spaced out loungers and promises to ensure guest safety are not the reality.
We were given a refund for the remaining nights and the assistant manager agreed with our comments about procedures not being adhered to but they didn't have any solution as to how to manage it. I'd suggest cut the number of bookings and day guests, insist on guests following the markings by stationing staff around busy areas to manage this and not look on helplessly.
After checking into our new hotel (Westin Dragonara) I can assure you this is not a reflection of all hotels in Malta. Here temperatures are taken before approaching reception. Loungers are distanced, guest numbers limited, all areas are clean and well managed. No queues for drinks or breakfast. Senior staff are very present and ensure guests are following the rules to keep themselves and others safe in a very polite and friendly manner. It's like night and day. So much more relaxed and finally enjoying our holiday.
I would like to thank you for the wonderful stay, clean hotel great staff and above all great food. A big thanks goes for Mr Ray Bonanno for giving us a lovely room. The only thing is that during the evening we had to stay outside and to have a drink we had to go in and out because we could not stay in the bar cause children are not allowed...
Maybe another bar will be open. But definitely will return back.
