Holiday in Malta

Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our holiday. The room care was excellent and cleaned daily. The shower needs an upgrade as you have to step in the bath and angle yourself to get a good wash...

Pool was good with walk in for kids and plenty of beds. You do have to get up early to get a selection between 7-8am. Bars were the most disappointing staff were not that friendly in the main. Drinks were poor quality especially cocktails. Serving in glasses at night would have been better as I understand plastic cups in the day near the pool. Entertainment was average but the room was too hot and we steered clear. The restaurant had a decent choice especially for lunch and breakfast. We chose not to eat in there in the evenings as it was too busy and struggled to get tables. We did use the themes Restaurants as these were better and able to book for 8/10 nights. We ate out on two evenings. The themes were a great idea but only the salia gave table service and served special drinks that you had to pay for if you wanted. On 3 occasions the beer would not work and on most days the drinks machine had drinks not working so this was poor. I would not come back unless I won the free holiday. LOL

Amazing hotel

We have just returned from our second trip to Seabanks (we have also stayed at San Antonio). As per previous trips the holiday was fantastic.
The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained...

The rooms are spacious and set up well ( family pool view room). The rooms are cleaned daily by a fantastic team and always gleaming. The food is good a great variety and one of the best all inclusive buffets we have had (hence this being our third trip to DB hotels). The selection of food is good and caters for everyone. There is always food on hand for hungry kids after a day in the pool.
Free drinking water is available in the lobby (and other locations around the hotel but the lobby is the best station) encouraging guests to reuse plastic which is great - a hotel caring about its plastic footprint. The staff are amazing I can’t fault anyone we spoke to all staff are friendly and helpful and always very polite.
As a family we love Malta and would recommend the hotel to many, which we have and lots of friends have also enjoyed fantastic holidays at SeaBanks.
Location of the hotel is good with a bus up to the town running frequently for 2 Euros and free return within 2 hours. You can also get a bus to anywhere else on the island - we recommend Paradise Bay for a visit just a short trip up from the hotel. Thanks you Seabanks for a fantastic holiday. we hope to see you again soon one day.

Overall an enjoyable week

Review by fsmollett Manchester

Rooms: Our family of 4 had 2 rooms; 3222 and 3212. On the whole they are nice rooms with sea view (across road) . The day to day cleaning (eg surfaces and floors) is excellent but there are some black mole spots in the bathroom of 3212 as if there may be isn’t enough ventilation...

There is a fixed hairdryer in the bathroom (didn’t use so can’t comment on effectiveness). There is a kettle and tea / coffee replaced daily. There are 2 small bottles of water at the beginning of your stay (these are not replenished) but you can buy reusable db water bottles to refil at a water station in reception. On the balcony is a small table and 2 chairs as well as a small, wall mounted drying rack. The air con goes off if you open the balcony door and also, everything goes off when you leave the room. Took us a while to realise, our phones weren’t charging when we were out. For UK travellers, you don’t need adapters - the sockets take 3 pin plugs. There was a strange smell in room 3212, sewerage / boiled cabbage kind of smell early morning. We did mention this a couple of times but the reception staff didn’t seem to grasp that if someone didn’t come up when we told them the smell was there, housekeeping wouldn’t be able to work out where it was coming from hours later. We think it was something coming through the air con as it didn’t appear to be from the bathroom. The standard of hotel this is portrayed as, I was expecting there to be shampoo, conditioner and body lotion but there is just a multi-purpose shampoo/ shower gel. There is a sewing kit, shoe shine and shower cap.

Food and drink: for all inclusive, we found the food to be better than expected. Breakfast : choice of fruits, yoghurts, cheese and meats, breads and pastries as well as hot option incl eggs, sausage and bacon. As well as an auto coffee machine, there was a jar of decaf which was great. Fruit juices incl apple, pineapple and orange did seem to be watered down. Lunch: bit samey each day but lots of salad options. Dinner: as well as the coral restaurant there is a Middle Eastern, an oriental, a Brazilian rodissio, italian, a jungle theme and a bbq option. We only managed to get in the Middle Eastern, Brazilian and bbq as the system to book was not explained to us on check in so they were booked up. Also, and this wasn’t apparent on reading up about the restaurants, they do not all operate every evening. Scan the qr code in reception or use the computer there to book the restaurants as soon as possible. The staff in all are very attentive, clearing tables and replenishing constantly. The alcoholic drinks ( aside from beer and wine) are not full strength. I think I saw on a bottle 30% proof. Their ‘Baileys’ alternative is awful! External areas / Pools: excellent. Stayed away from main pool as very busy. There is a childrens pool and also an adults only pool with swim up bar. The terraced areas are much quieter and fill up much later than round he pool and yes, the lounger hoggers have their towels out before 7.30 am! Towels require a €10 deposit each.

Honest review

Stayed here for 10 days with wife and 2 kids 22 and 14 Will start with positives 1st the food was really good we managed to get in all the restaurants and enjoyed them all, the main coral was a bit repetitive but that's always the case. The hotel was nice and clean as we're the rooms but a little tired in places. The staff were ok a few rude ones on bars and reception unfortunately. The pools were like getting into a hot bath and the swim up was even hotter! Surely something could be done to cool them down. Now for the drinks.....

possibly the worst we've had definitely watered down and cocktails were not nice we asked if we could pay extra for a mojito and was told no they didn't even have shakers to mix them! Also lots of bees and unfortunately was ridiculously busy due to the hotel allowing local day trippers. The entertainment was also some of the worst we have seen the same dancers and singers pretty much every evening, the animation team during the day at the pool were good though. Unfortunately would not return especially for the prices this hotel charges.

Family Holiday July/August

Review by Lisa1321 Warlingham, United Kingdom

We arrived at 2pm and our family room was ready for us on arrival. This is a large hotel with a main restaurant and seven others. Apart from the main restaurant (Coral) the rest need to be booked...

We booked all ours on the first day on the app without a problem. I must say all of the restaurants were very good we particularly enjoyed the Salia and the Levant but all are very good. Our least favourite was the jungle restaurant, just not to our personal taste. There is plenty of choice in the main restaurant. We cant fault the hotel it was spotlessly clean lots to do. We had an issue with the drainage in our shower which was looked at immediately, however, I did hear several people complaining of the same problem so maybe something the hotel needs to address. The main pool is huge plenty of sunbeds if your not fussy about where to sit. If you want front row then you will need to be up early. I might add that this is school holidays so every hotel is busy Im yet to find one that isnt. There is an adults pool with a swim up bar for those that want to use it. There is also an adult bar off the main reception. The indoor pool is very refreshing. All in all would I return, yes I would. If I could give the hotel a couple of tips I would suggest that in the busy months the restaurant gets very busy and popular areas (mainly the chips and ice cream and pancake) areas would maybe benefit from two stations to avoid congestion. My only other negative point it is that in some areas the floor is slippery and we saw several people slip during out stay. But this is a lovely hotel. The staff work very hard. The restaurants staff are very busy working tirelessly we were greeted with a smile and a high five for the kids from Jonathan every day. My kids knew him as the smilie man. The animation team are good fun and there are lots of activities to take part in if you wish. Its a busy hotel lots of families as you would expect in the school holidays. If you dont want to be around children I would suggest avoiding school holidays when it is possibly less busy. The lovely beach is across the road 5 euro for a sunbed or umbrella. There isnt too much else in the area in walking distance other than a shop a couple of restaurant bars and a starbucks. I had a lovely holiday and hope to return and would recommend this hotel.
