We stayed for 2 wonderful weeks here and wished it was longer! The family friendly hotel, nestling under the strikingly pretty town of Melleiha is spotless, the staff were all lovely, friendly and courteous. Even in November the hotel was quite busy. Our room was massive, very comfy beds, free safe, kettle with complimentary beverages, ceiling fans, ( 3pin plugs ), 2 sunny balconies overlooking the huge swimming pool. Indoor heated pool...
Free fill your own bottles drinking water by way of a machine in the lobby, great touch! Lots of sanitation points.
The food choices in the normal restaurant were amazing, plentiful and well cooked, we enjoyed all our meals there. We also tried most of the speciality restaurants which are included with the all inclusive package. These are great for a special dining experience, we enjoyed them all!
However I didn’t care much for the all inclusive drinks, I tried most spirits, local, to try and find one I liked but all tasted weird to me, probably fine in cocktails but I don’t drink them. So apart from amaretto or baileys, (good with an espresso), the beer and wine was fine. There is also prosecco of course, nice! No option to buy any premium spirits if you wanted to? The evening entertainment show for a hotel was fabulous, very well choreographed, they have some serious talent there I thought! Travel from the hotel is easy with a well served bus stop to most destinations just across they road. (heads up, watch the traffic, Maltese drivers seem to have only 2 speeds, stop or very fast!). The hotels position is very handy for travel to Gozo too. In summary I recommend this wonderful hotel to all!
Overall the hotel was great.....good points first...food was good...nice and varied..drinks were fine with good variation. rooms were very modern and clean and large...strange trendy shallow sink which was difficult to get ones hands under the tap!!...powerful bath shower loads of hot water and spacious (I hate small hotel showers) ..Make sure you ask for a room with a view though..we had a great view across the pool looking out over the country side. Many hotels in Malta are hemmed in with no views..that said some rooms at the back look out on to a wall...so make sure you email the hotel to spcify which room type you want...
Staff very polite..I mean very....Considering its just really a family resort the staff could not do enough for you and made us feel very welcome....Loved the lobby bar as it has nice sofas.
OK the not so good points....
Unfortunately the hotel seems to be blighted with flies..blue bottle type..And for some reason the restarants etc dont have ANY fly killing UV units at all. I dont know if this is common in Malta. The pool bar closed towards the end of our stay meaning we had to walk a fair way to the lobby bar for drinks...I was told this is due to it being end of season. The transfer took ages..must have been an hour with several drop offs ..not the hotels fault but you may want to consider that a return trip to valleta on the bus is two hours in total. The Brazilian restaurant was not good..the BBQ meats were chewy ...the other themed restaurants are very niver..but book them early as they get booked up quickly
The staff were super friendly, helpful and professional. We spent 10 days there on a half board basis. The main restaurant was the only one available to us...
We thought we would get fed up of the food but the menu was different every night. I would definitely go again.
Been there for several times. The staff always treat us like vip. The room and all over hotel always cleaned and tidy...
The receptionist always gives us a warm welcome to the hotel. Food was always delicious. Thanks and see you again Mr & Mrs Axiaq. Malta
Spent a week here on a full board basis. The hotel is a 30-45 minute drive from the airport and would suggest a hire car is well worth considering if you want to easily explore Malta, the ferry to Gozo is near the hotel (10 minute drive).
Overall a very good hotel with friendly and hard-working staff...
The food was good for mass catering, plenty of choice in the main restaurant [Coral] and there are other speciality restaurants you can book - Italian, Asian, American, Brazilian, Indian and the a la carte restaurant, although during our November stay some of these were closed.
Large outdoor pool and a much smaller indoor one, plenty of activities and entertainment options. The spa was good, the gym reasonable (although a bit dated), the Sports-bar has x2 Sky boxes and bowling.
We had a room with a pool view on the third floor, which was clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious.
Decent WiFi in most areas of the hotel.
