3 rd time with DB 2nd stay atSeabank, rebooked before we left!!!!

Review by nicolah263 Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

Just returned from 10 nights at the Seabank , previously stayed 2019 and enjoyed but covid stopped us so came back a few years later. Have also stayed at San Antonio 2018 but Seabank suited us better! As last time we had a fabulous holiday. Family rooms better for those with older children as more space than quad room...

Animation team brilliant and entertaining even when not not taking part good to watch. Bee’s/wasps not a problem as long as you don’t leave sticky/sugary drinks lying around. Reception staff helpful and informative , thanks to Karen for helping sort our rooms! Managed to get into all restaurants using the computer booking in reception , need to look out for the days booking becomes available and be flexible to fit when slots are free but as I say we managed to get into them all and 2 of them twice and we were a party of 8!!!!! Enjoyed ourselves so much we had already rebooked for next year as we sat on our sunbeds on the second to last day! Thank you Seabank

Great holiday again

2nd time at DB Seabank and the holiday was excellent again Food is brilliant with loads of choice. We managed to eat at all of the restaurants so not sure why some people seem to have an issue with it. My favourites were the Italian, Middle Eastern and Chinese...

Pool is great with good entertainment put on by the staff. Hotel location is next to the beach so it’s easy to cross the road and spend a few hours there. Family room is large with plenty of room for the four of us Already booked again for next year !

Room For Improvement

After reading the reviews I was wary. Unfortunately, the negative reviews came true for us.

Pro's first - Pool Entertainment - Great vibe! Clean Food Choices good Room was big and bed was comfy - (shame about the air con) Free use of the Safe

Cons The 2 main deal breakers for me (and why we wouldnt go back) was the Air Conditioning - it was swealtering in our room...

How can some rooms be cool and some not? we consistantly complained and asked for fans but as other guests have said THEY DONT CARE and dont resolve it, despite all the promises, reception staff almost hid when they saw me.

The second was the booking of the restaurants, you shouldnt have to pay over £2,200 for a hotel that advertises speciality restaurants that you cant use. The day we arrived we tried to book, nothing available. I had an email before we arrived from the General Manager saying if we had a problem to ask for him, we did that to be told he was not in for a week, I kicked up a fuss and 2 restaurants were booked for us, in duress. We particularly wanted to eat at the Salia and was told to try again on Sunday as the restaurants all start from scratch on a Sunday. I got up at 7am on Sunday and all the restaurants were full, I went to reception and was told it was Saturday that it started again. We only got in at the Salia because of a fluke (I wont go into it) SO THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM if you want some sort of variety for food options

We specifically asked for our 2 rooms to be together, baring in mind we booked this hotel 10 months before we came, and it was printed on my booking form 'Do Not Split This Group Up' they split us up, we were not together and they flatly refused to do anything about it, told us we should be grateful we were on the same floor.

This is a very very busy hotel, full of children which was perfect for our stay as we went as a family, I would not recommend this hotel for couples, despite the adult pool area, there was little escape.

The staff work hard, there is no denying that, however we found they were not overly 'friendly' many didnt engage at all so that was a shame!! There is no service as such, everything is self service, often tables were dirty and uncleared, you had to get your own cutlery. I guessed that was because they were short staffed?

The hotel opens up to the public, I understand why, but it gives it a different feel to the place. Locals were trying to bring in dogs to the restaurant, teenagers racing round the baby pool.

The Coral buffet restaurant was hot and stuffy, little to no air con at times, which made it uncomfortable to eat in, and was very canteen like

In my opinion this hotel is a 3* at best

We sadly wouldnt go back, or recommend.

A great week with family

Review by nicolao391 Grays Thurrock, United Kingdom

We've just returned from a week at the dB Seabank and overall I was impressed with the hotel. We thought the food was good and managed to book several of the speciality restaurants using the QR code in the welcome pack - I would advise doing this as soon as you can though as there were a couple we could not get into. My favourite was Levant, the food and decor was excellent...

It was nice to be in a smaller restaurant as the Coral and Laguna felt a bit school canteen like at busy times. I wasn't a huge fan of the L'Orient food, but was nice enough for an all inclusive.

The pool was great - our children spent loads of time there and we always managed to get enough sunbeds (if we were down there by 10am). I saw people reserving beds the night before which I think the hotel should try to stop. There was no need to be honest as there are plenty for everyone.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, they work so hard all day, clearing tables and cups from the pool to try and keep the wasps at bay. Inevitable with a farm next door and people drinking sugary drinks all day. By the end of the week we hardly noticed them.

Our room was great and was cleaned every day to a high standard. The air con was great and we had no trouble sleeping despite the high temperatures outside.

We took advantage of the free photoshoot which can be booked on site at reception. The photographer was so friendly and her photos were great - we walked away with 35 of them!

We did not venture into the Dome much, choosing to sit outside in the evening but the shows looked good and people were enjoying themselves. It was incredibly busy in there so I would suggest arriving early if you want a seat inside.

The beach across the road is lovely and sandy with clear water. It's shallow quite far out and my daughter loved snorkeling there - even seeing a couple of stingrays. We did the short boat trip to the Blue Lagoon. The Lagoon itself was a bit rubbish given the crowds and wannabe models posing with their pineapple drinks in the water (LOL) but we enjoyed the boat ride itself hugely and thought it was well worth the €20 each to see some beautiful caves and stunning blue waters.

Overall, we had a great stay - thank you dB Seabank!
