The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Dragonara Casino and a minute walk from Portomaso Marina, and the bus terminus of St Julian's from where one can take a direct bus to several localities in Malta.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Expensive and very Shameful hotel with a very rude personal and manager who have been extremely aggressive for charging another guest just by crossing the room - noisy because of works outside - even not a water bottle in the room - the only hotel i really hated in malta - avoid at all price
Our stay at Ivy Hotel was unfortunately very disappointing. There is an active construction site directly outside the hotel, and every morning the work started around 7:00 AM. The noise inside our room reached around 60–65 dB, which repeatedly woke us up and completely disrupted our sleep.
What makes this worse is that this construction was not mentioned anywhere in the booking information. If we had known there was a construction site operating early every morning, we would never have booked this hotel.
We raised the issue both with the hotel and with Hotels.com, but the situation was handled very poorly and no real solution was offered. It was extremely frustrating to have several days of our trip affected like this after paying for what we expected to be a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Hotels should clearly inform guests about ongoing construction nearby so travelers can make an informed decision before booking.
we encountered a very unhelpful member of staff at check in who told me I had no booking. Eventually he found the booking in my wife's name which I don't believe as her name wasn't used on any of my booking documents . Pretty sure he was just being awkward. The breakfast was OK but there was only a four slice toaster with half of it not working. The noise at night from drunk guests was terrible and went on for hours with no hotel staff interested in stopping the noisy guests. The room was clean but the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The balcony was small and not very well kept.
Location excellent, staff all lovely, rooms good enough. Bed was a bit uncomfortable and the balcony was rubbish but overall would recommend
Pleasant and friendly hotel staff. Everything in the hotel is new, everyday room cleaning, comfortable and modern room and bathroom. Breakfast is excellent. Prices are affordable and location in St Julians is perfect.
